I feel like the FGC as a whole has a problem with Twitter clips getting traction and then people from outside that game's scene deciding that's just "what the game is". I've actually heard "X game is ToD central" a LOT over the years but if ToDs were actually common... Why would people be posting the clips? If it's just how the game goes, nobody who actually plays the game would care when they happened. You see it a lot with comeback mechanics too, people see a Vtrigger comeback clip or something and go "man SFV is so broken, just vtrigger and rob people etc etc" when in reality the reason that clip got posted is because it was a cool "if everything goes right" situation, not business as usual

I don’t think that’s limited to fgc, you’ll see clips of league of legends games where an assassin one shots an ad and people will say x role is useless. On the flip side you’ll see a video of an adc getting a penta kill and people complaining x role is broken..

Just placed my pre order the other day, I’m so hyped to get into the game and find which character I like the most!
Certified LK Banger. The game is definitely not what all those twitter memes are saying what the game is in its entirety. Sure character power is high but its not ridiculous or unplayable at all. Amazing game to pick up love it to death!
2.5 if you ban Shadow characters is the best game of all time
@@giannis_tar 100% true and is what I say to everyone all the time. 2.5 without shadows is the best fg of all time IMO. They finally managed to tone down the crazy stuff from 1.1 for the normal characters with nerfs to dmg scaling on SP Skills and certain specials, and made certain characters less oppressive like Narukami lol. The crazy comeback factor was still there, but it felt like you needed more resources, or you now would need to spend the resources up front, so it felt more fair but still fun as hell while everyone became even more interesting with their toolsets becoming more varied.
@@giannis_tar we're not banning shadows. we're open to the idea if a particular shadow character is over-represented and lack meaningful counterplay, but time will tell if that's a necessity. a blanket ban on all shadow characters eliminates half the roster for no reason other than u not liking getting sauced on

watching LK’s or other mitsurus in all these videos have made her kinda interesting, then plus the shadow mode. may be the day 1 main when the game comes out.
Those Rise matches went so hard, she looks really fun. Might have to main her.
Yeah in Ultimax 1.1 if you had resources then homie is bout to get blown up -- game handed out meter like candy, which was fun. With Aki, 5B fatal and 6.7k dmg right there with 50 meter anywhere on screen. No counter hit but got a burst in stock? 5B OMB and homie is basically donezo. Shit, 5AA on a cornered opponent to vacuum them in, cancel it into SB Duck into A Hook > A Sonic > A Hook > B Cork....goddamn that shit was cheap LOL. It really felt like everyone was just lvl 99 in Ultimax 1.1 and it was rly fun.
@@donutsama285 Haha this game was my life at one point. Shit, to the point where me, Barzorx, and Domi made a petition to get 2.0 onto consoles with 250 signatures back in the day. Made a lot of friends cause of this game while I was in Japan, became buddies with Guymam where he let me stay at his place for a long ass time where we played P4A often -- and showed up on the ANIMEILLUMINATI streams with Jiyuna (I was CSC, the name Jiyuna gave when I came to his place with chocolate as a sort of welcoming gift lmaooo). I learned Japanese cause of this game to the point where Japanese is a big part of my life now. And it was the fighting game I was really good at compared to other fighting games -- my Aki was clean and I knew him inside and out (I went by kuppu online back in the day). Yeah, I'm very damn hyped man and it feels good to know that new people will get to experience this game.
@@donutsama285 Sadly nah haha. I had one match of me playing in Shinjuku Sportsland against a Junpei, but I was playing on arcades where I suck cause at the time I only knew how to play on pad. If you got steam hit me up on there, I go by Soriphen. There is also a mod called 1.5 where you can play the 2.0 chars in 1.1 in RPCS3 if you wanna try that out.
@@Soriphen I'm in Europe so it would be hard to play together but I'll pick the game on Steam if it works decently on my crappy computer and would gladly look your matches and talk about Aki. Btw did you play sho / minazuki 2.00 ? Is it actually possible to weave and duck his 5A now ? That would be sweet
@@donutsama285 Just tested it now with the 2.0 mod. Definitely can't C Weave, D Weave, or C Duck at all or reliably, but D Duck you can definitely do. It is finicky and it needs to be done in the early frames rather than the later frames, and you get no counter hit even with A Cork afterwards, but it can at least be done. I'd say if he has you at that stupid 2A4AA stagger pressure, just IB everything and mash DP if you got 50 meter to spare. Sadly we still gotta deal with that BS, but we just gotta make sure we always have meter.

I'm just looking forward to the story mode and just hit up training mode and combo trials. When the rollback finally hits I'll definitely grind some online too!

I'm super excited to play this game. I'm a Skullgirls player so I know what a single player game can look like and this definitely gives me that feel just a bit and I'm about to exploit the shit out of it. None of my friends are having fun when this comes out

My only problem with the game for what I see, is that there seems to be no push block mechanism, like FD and barrier.

There aren't many plus frames in the game and instead the part that makes pressure scary is that a lot of pressure is safe with the Personas. So instead you use rolls or guard cancel with attack or roll, or you actually would want to IB so that you can reduce pushback even further with less blockstun and punish since this game is minus frames heavy.
Playing the number 1 top tier. Learned from strives ram and nago that sometimes winning gives the added motivation that the character i vibe with

But the great thing is, everyone has some bullshit.
Compared to this, Xrd and BBCF, strive's UI and stages are so ugly.
Like with most Arcsys games, you can expect neutral-skips, fake footsies, and system mechanics that do nothing to make sure the better player wins.

I hope the balance in this version is better than the Ps3 one I played. It was insanely bad in that one. Probably the least balanced Arcsys game I've played outside of that one version of blazblue where Koko was an actual god.

@@Timmcd pc port could have a good chunk of people probably more than switch for obvious reasons and lack of paid subscriptions is kind of a plus
On pc, 1000 people on p4au right now, 2500 on sf5, 1300 average on dbfz, and 4900 on tekken 7. Gg strive is lower than half of those, but yea it's the only game people play, you're so right.
