I was so excited to play more persona when this got ported... Then I was immediately reminded why I don't play fighting games
Honestly just spam auto combos and practice neutral
Exactly idk why I bought this game knowing how complicated this button combinations are 😂
I personally would like to hear your ideas in terms of a breakdown for each character. Even if its not necessarily in depth persay I would still enjoy that kind of content. I personally play Junpei and there isn't exactly alot of Junpei information or like a breakdown of him.
I’m not sure if it’s what your looking for but LK made a character overview for each character if you want to check that out. There is some more videos dedicated to characters too like shadow labrys, Mitsuru and aigis
@@nivensmctwispo I watched that already but that was more of a general idea explanation of the characters
@@KCthaJerk101 Well, Junpei basically just wants to keep bashing shit with his bat.
More bat hits means he gets stronger, essentially.
Once he gets Victory Cry (10 runs) he starts regenerating health and meter.
Every 10 more runs after will amplify his regeneration more.
He also gets clean hits, which turn non-combos into true combos when in Victory Cry. You’ll know when he’s getting clean hits by the *ping* sound effect when he hits stuff with his bat.
@@devranyilmaz9806 I’m aware of how he works but I do appreciate you pointing it out.
@@KCthaJerk101 he also can deflect projectiles with his bat, which progresses your runs.
Some Furious Actions are weird too. Like Adachi's is both an overhead and the 2nd hit is a low...for some reason.
Someone at my local told me about it and described it as "a good mix option if you're the type of person who takes glue with your corn flakes"
That shit banging frfr
IIRC Mu from BB has the same shit lmao
The fact that I've noticed my improvement on playing this game from the PS3 to the PS4 due to basic fighting game knowledge honestly impresses me. Still struggle on guard pressure from rush down characters like Sho. Lol
Thanks for making P4AU videos for people like me who are new to the game, they’re super helpful
I’d say maybe a beginner might appreciate more a series of combos for each character, or even situation specific mechanics and whatnot, really emphasizing on the buttons and inputs themselves considering they won’t be knowing the attack moves and / or will be playing using a controller
Thanks for this guide, and for going over shadow recommendations 🙏
LK content is goated for beginners, I come back to fighting games every 5 months so these videos are great refreshers man
yes ive been waiting!!
numpad notation is just superior.
Yet another blessing. Praise be.
Loving all this P4AU content!
I don't post much but, you seriously have the best content Lordknight!!! I didn't know how cool this game was until I started watching your videos since they announced it was getting the rollback treatment.
With p4au just getting rollback this is so helpful for me being new to this game
how is the netcode? and u getting matches?
@@kyserares4566 the matches are great I haven't had a single laggy match. And I mostly find matches through the p4au ultimax discord and with rollback I'm able to play with anyone no matter the distance. I love it
thanks LK love your content
Would love some character overviews with combo/pressure suggestions.
Just got the game yesterday and the routing has proved to be kinda elusive compared to more traditional anime fighters.
Keep up the excellent content 👍
you are a life saver, thank you very much
Thanks for the info. I really want to get into this game but it’s so hard with a lack of video content out there. There aren’t even many character bnb videos that I can find on RUclips
I've found a few character bnbs on here.
Who do you play?
Have you checked dustloop?
@@TheDsLeet I am trying to pick up teddie
@@ram5487 Yes, thanks for the rec. I need to pour through and practice some of them
Thank you sir
Would love to see a small BNB video for every character, nothing super fancy but maybe doable for new people on day 1 and 2
I just bought this game and have been being bullied online, but im enjoying the Junpie grind.
I hate being bullied online. watch your replays to see what you're doing right and wrong. play matches with people around your level, and you'll slowly get better
Thanks :)
Just popped in here to say that thumbnail made me smile
I would argue that shadow Yousuke is better just because of how strong sukukaja is but that's just me in training mode saying things
Yosuke is still considered slightly better than his S-Type cause of access to burst for defense. While he does have literally the best goddamn universal DP in the game, coming out stupid fast and being a counter that gives a hard knockdown, he still is built like a wet noodle and will die to a light sneeze and a well aimed fart, so he desperately needs Burst.
@@ubermaster1 that's fair, I guess I don't have enough real match experience yet lol
@@ubermaster1 shadow characters can regular burst in P4U2, you might be thinking P4U1.1?
@@ubermaster1 no
@@ubermaster1
...Shadows have burst in 2.5
Shadow Yosuke has it. He doesn't have OMB or gold burst, but frenzy is just better than those lol.
I don’t even play this game but this is a great refresher for any arcaxis game
I would really, really appreciate some pointers for fighting Kanji. I’m still losing to F- rank Kanjis because I simply cannot beat the character. For example, what beats that invincible grab? What about the grab that sends him flying across the screen?
Kanji is such a pain to deal with
I'm somewhat new but I do know his flying grab can be beat by crouching I believe.
With the grounded command throw, you can jump to avoid it if you see it coming. With the dive move, a lot of people say simply crouching is enough to avoid it. I try to punish it with 2B, which is air unblockable for most characters.
I’ll give the tip that if you’re put into shock state against him like in the corner best opens would be to know what your defensive options are wether you have dp that can beat out a grab or a special move that moves you out like a example minazukis teleport, I also think you can roll out of the situation if it’s the d version but I’m not sure fully
Exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks
I believe the recommended versions for each character are;
Ken - Shadow
Yukari - Shadow
Labrys - Normal
Naoto - Matchup Dependant, Slightly Shadow Leaning
Teddie - Slightly Normal Leaning
Mitsuru - Definitely Shadow
Aigis - Normal
Yukiko - Definitely Shadow
Yu - Matchup Dependant, Slightly Normal Leaning
Yosuke - Slightly Shadow Leaning
Chie - Shadow
Akihiko - Slightly Shadow, very close to equal
Kanji - Slightly Normal Leaning
Junpei - Definitely Shadow
Rise - Definitely Normal
But there are two different Shadow Labrys's. One uses Ariadne and the other uses Asterius. Thoughts?
@@fujinshu Asterius Labrys does not have a Shadow Version in terms of gameplay, and between Ariadne Labrys' version, the Normal one is slightly better as I listed
@@Eddiegames9 The Asterius Labrys is literally named Shadow Labrys as it’s own fighter, while not carrying the same Shadow mechanics as other Shadow fighters.
@@fujinshu and there's 2 different sho minazuki's
Doesn't matter since one is just called sho while the other is minazuki
Some people call shadow Labrys S-Labrys anyway
Hey LK, found you through your P4AU videos and have pretty much binged the rest of your content on yt.
Are you planning to publish some videos playing with others like you do for strive or are you not really interested? Asking cuz I thought your GG videos were super interesting and I'd like to see you do the same for this. Though I get it if you wouldn't want to as well if you felt like you wanted to move on or something because its a port of a pretty old game.
Likely we'll see more gameplay when rollback comes out.
As it stands the online can be really hit or miss
LK plays a decent amount on stream, all the P4U twitch vods should have at least some match footage if you don't mind digging a bit
Hey LK, I think you mentioned you started playing yukari in another video? If that's the case I would love a yukari guide!
it is said normal Aigis is better by a small margin however S.Aigis is easier to learn from which is pretty unique amongst the roster
That thumbnail is giving Mafia City ads
Personaly Im trying to learn shadow laby but holy shit holding and comanding asterious while trying to attack is crazy.
Brain hurts when doing those combo challanges because you need to input 3 commands right after eachother
I suggest to change your commands, holding D with Circle is like impossible, using her should make you set L1 or some other button for D command
@@ikiryshin6780 im playing on an arcade stick lol so the inputs aren't as hard compared to a controller
thanks for doing this one LK. one of my friends is getting into p4u2 as his first ever non-smash game and he's struggling with stuff like quarter circles.
While I understood everything in the video, cancels and moves that require quick movement of the stick repeatedly are still a struggle for me and sometimes I just happen to do them without knowing what was different that time
When will your tier list of 2.0 come out?
Hey LK, I know it’s a bit after the game is out, but I’d still find it very useful, could you make a bbcf guide?
Me watching this damn well knowing i probably won’t be playing it anytime soon like: 😲
Carry ME, LK!
Has Lizs 236236c changed? or do you need to do something special to make it a one shot trap... seems to just go off right away and do about 1100 dmg
Elizabeth's Mahamaon & Mamudoon now only instant-kill if there's less than 10 seconds on the clock. Otherwise, they now deal fixed damage.
Only instant kills during the last 10 seconds now, in return that frontloaded all of her "Kill you in one combo" damage/playstyle into the rest of her kit.
She has to work for her on taps now, but in return she has a lot of ways into it instead of just "combo into Hama/Mudo"
I’m curious, I’m a chie main and I’m very new. What about shadow chie makes her more optimal, and is regular chie worth using anyway?
Word around the office is that Labrys is an either or when it comes to shadow mode
for your streams, that you record for these videos if you have the recording going at the same time as the video, it would defo be worth putting your background music on one of the separated audio tracks to your voice and game sound so when you have hard cuts in your video the music can just be running uninterrupted added back in in post, great vid as always though
How's the switch version? It's on sale and I'm thinking on picking it up to train on the go ✊
Does the first attack bonus count for the entire game or just the first hit/combo ?
The person who got the first hit of the round gets the extra SP, and it’s just for the first hit.
😪 i rly wanna get in to this game but funds I’m bout to sell my ps4, n I’ve been meaning to get a fight stick (i hate the p4 controller for fighting game)
I’m the only one with sp attacks issue? 236236C is impossible. Bug?
I'm just searching for a comprehensive shadow labrys guide and there are none cause I guess no one uses her 😭

This thumbnail LMAO
why tf are double quarter circle moves so hard to execute bro
It would be easier but I won't be happy. So I refuse to learn number notations
He had me at 4 buttons, and lost me at the multiple button mechanic mumbo jumbo
There is not a 4 button game around that doesn't have nearly the exact same button combo mechanics as P4U. Hell, most 5 and 6 button games have a lot of the same button combo mechanics. Throws, EX specials, rolls, guard cancels, RCs, bursts, universal overhead/blowback/focus attack. These mechanics exist and are on button combos in every game you've ever played in some combination. Universal DP is literally the only one I think is truly unique. They just have different names.
It's significantly less convoluted than you think. On controller, two of these button combinations are buttons that can _very easily_ be pressed together at once, and the other four combinations are just macros set to shoulder buttons.
Press both Physical buttons (◻+X/X+A) for Guilty Gear Dust/Sweep, or to use EX physical specials.
Press both Persona buttons (△+O/Y+B) to Throw, or to use EX persona specials.
Press both Light buttons (a shoulder macro) for system movement options (dodge roll and shorthop from KoF, and air turn).
Press both Heavy buttons (a shoulder macro) for DP.
OMC & Burst are also shoulder macros on controller, as they always are in every game that has them.
@Chowder. You can map many of the multiple button mumbojumbo combinations to your trigger buttons. ( if you play on a controller like me) it's alot easier to just press one trigger button to get that certain multi button press action. and use your face ABCD buttons for fighting
