that's exactly why i play her but i learned shes a zoner who eventually goes in, which is my goat playstyle for anime fighters. i play teddie a similar way
Can you imagine a Persona Ultimax with the smash bros ultimate’s “Everyone’s here” treatment? Where it brings every Persona user (good, bad) P1 through P5R. That’ll be amazing
That’d be epic. Make Tetsuya from EP instant kill be him ending the world with his persona since that’s what was said would happen if his friends remembered their past life iIRC
Even better, add If... to the mix so we can get Tamaki Uchida and Akira in this game. Give Tamaki a party of demons, and replace the Cards with the little demon icon, and you'll really steal my heart
I mostly played Narukami cause he was so easy back in the day but this time I'm gonna get really sweaty about Adachi. I watched some pro play, and he has my favorite play style in fighting games: Pavlov's offense, a character who is built around using tools to punish sloppy play to condition the opponent into either getting progressively more angry and more sloppy, or overly cautious and defensive so you can get away with stuff you shouldn't. Something about using human error and psychological pressure is so addictive, and he has a whole tool box relying on that aspect of fighting games is so sweet. Plus getting away with things you shouldn't is fun.
So glad you made a new video for 2.0. I watched the old one in preparation for this game but as someone who didn't play the original it was very difficult for me to understand some of the unique aspects of this game without being able to put hands on it (things like how the SP system worked, Persona breaks, Awakenings, Instakills, etc). This video is MUCH more beginner friendly, and is especially so now that I AM much more familiar with these mechanics as I can now play the game. Cheers
Yoskuke losing glide without getting anything in return seems like a really harsh nerf. He does very little damage, and now has a much harder time opening the opponent up.
When I played BBTAG the Persona characters were some of the most interesting to me, and I had never played a Persona game. Glad I can finally try them out in this game. I just picked P4AU the other day on Steam. Aegis and Mitsuru are the characters I like so far.
I can’t wait to play this game I just bought this and goin to play it after work! Feels like I’ve been waiting an eternity for it to come out when I first saw a trailer for it haha. Very good video as well💪💪
Careful the game is very technical and complicated at first. Something alot of reviews don't mention. You also can't map dash or air dash to a single button like Strive.
I've been seeing your videos ever since this game got announced. I'll subscribe just because the amount of info you gave on this game. Have a good one!
LordKnight, I want to ask out of pure curiosity, what do you think about Aigis, Yu and Mitsuru as mains ? I main these 3. Aigis is my go to heroine be it ranked or unranked games ( I love her orgia mode options),Yu as a sub ( I think he plays just like Ky in Guilty gear) and Mitsuru (just for fun, though I find her mirrors a bit too slow ).
Yeah in 1.0 it used to do 80% damage, but now it got buffed to 90%. Individual damage is still worse then normal version, but the gap is much less noticeable. In 1.0 shadow health used to be a flat 2k increase across the board, but now it’s only 1k [Kanji/Akihiko only gets 500 specifically] Shadows no longer has meter carryover like they did in 1.0 Shadows now has burst that can be used as shadow fury resource. This is the big change that makes Shadows more viable because they have a defensive option they lacked before, unburstable combo that fixed Shadow Fury being weak before to go along with Awakening supers not needing awakening + reduced meter cost in Shadow fury ,
I’m going to main Yukiko. She’s the ultimate waifu and i love fire. Reds also my favorite color. I’m really hoping for a persona 5 arena game though so I can main Joker and Ann.
I'm admittedly... new to the 2D fighting game scene. I started with Antinomy of Common Flowers but when I heard P4AU was coming out again, I wanted to get it. I was kinda hoping someone could kinda guide me to a character type to play as to really get into a groove. I mean I kinda get pretty rushdown? A lot of my aggressive plays are corner pressure but I usually play with a close and zoning type in tag team games.
First of all, thank you for all the effort you put into teaching this game ;u; You're one of my favorite FGC personalities because of that and other factor. I was wondering if you'd ever do an in-depth on Margaret. She's my favorite forever and I'm horrid at this game and just wanna do her justice ;u;
I am genuinely pumped for some rollback on this game. Played the fuck out of P4A--first anime fighter I ever got into (started with UMVC3) and loved it.
I kinda wanted to see if Yukiko had any QoL changes as someone who only played the game casually but hey the fans being more frequent is a nice change. Wasn't expecting much positive about her to be said.
Great Video LK! Just a heads up Junpei's clean hits aren't timing based just frames they're based on spacing! (what hitbox of the bat is hitting the opponent)
I havent seen too many combos on this game, would you say that they're difficult overall? Or is it just a matter of like hitting gatlings into specials
Depends, basic confirms are smaller and are just basic gatlings into specials but dumping meter or landing certain starters will lead to bigger combos. Landing fatal counters will also lead to insane stuff too
My basic judgement is "Can I stop my friend using Adachi from spamming maziodyne and not letting me get close?" So I'm stuck with yukari, minazuki and aigis. Not choosing Yu cause it's easy to screw up
I dunno if you'll see this Lord Knight but thanks for the video. I love persona but this is my first time playing the fighting game and I have no idea who to play at all. Any recommendations? Anyone who's just fun to play for a beginner to P4AU?
Originally. I was planning on maining Teddie or Akihiko since they were my mains back in BBTAG. But for some reason, Junpei really caught my interest. Not even big into baseball or the goofy character aesthetic. Maybe because I hear he's relatively low tier, and I have a soft spot for low tier characters.

Yu is pretty much the most over powered Shoto character there is. He use zio ground and air which are pretty fast. also he has a diagonal attack and ground attack that can cover the whole arena. Also you can follow up on those attacks afterwards.
No awakening and burst is replaced with shadow frenzy which means no more offensive or defense burst. Shadow Frenzy basically puts them into something like Hyper mode in KOF or Chaos Code which allows them to do insane combos and even TOD. No awakening means no defense buff when you drop below 35% health after a combo or single hit. Shadows have higher health but it doesn't fully compensate as the defense buff from awakening reduces damage down to 62.5 and even effects minimum damage scaling for supers. Shadows basically give up a lot of stuff for shadow frenzy which is their main goal in every fight. i would like to play ken and shadow labrys but i dont how to use the persona or the dog in combo while hitting i dont have enough finger have u some tips pls ?
@@RenzZlax Not at all. 3D is always easier. Like every DreamWorks and Disney and video game entertainment product in general is 3D now because it's fast, it looks good and is cost effective. Sprite animation is way more time consuming thus more expensive. Look at the beautiful King of Fighters 13, and why they went to 3D afterwards in KoF 14 and 15. This is why I appreciate sprite based that are released now moreso than alot of 3D games. Good sprites always age alot better than 3D. Devs like Frenchbread with Under Night in Birth, and Melty Blood I support because of how good their sprite characters, games look, and the artistry behind them. If they needed to put P5 characters they would need to start from scratch because they would need a new engine, because all the original p4A devs have moved on. The same way Guilty Gear went to 3D in Xrd. Arcsystemworks are the ones that do the anime in 3D artstyle justice will GG Strive, Granblue and DBFZ
P5 is when I got into the Persona series. They have no one form P5. The only reason I picked this up was for the RPG Golden Arena mode. Can’t wait to get started. Just need to see which character I’d like. Thanks for this video.
I'd be pretty impressed if a fighting game from before P5 had P5 characters in it, jokes aside I hope you enjoy the game, and I recommend checking out P3 and 4 if you can.
This is my first fighting game and Jesus Christ! I'm getting bodied by the CPU. Movement feels so hard to do, it feels like trying to play piano but you just end up unable to control your fingers lol. I think Mitsuru's play style fits well with me, so hopefully I can at least learn one combo.
Relax. Fighting games have a learning curve. Soon you will realize that the CPU is extremely dumb and you'll be able to beat it at the highest difficulty with your eyes closed
@@giannis_tar yea I was getting my arse beat in p4a with the cpu on higher difficulties (p4a was my first fighter) then I played p4au and risky difficulty cpu is so easy you can beat them with auto combos if you really wanted to lol

Half of these attacks I don't understand how to execute at all. The command list uses arcade stick icons and not normal buttons, I can't translate that :(
Unless you’re playing on pc, you can just go into training and memorise what is what. On PS3 the icons were coloured in the way of the controller, so red meant circle, green meant triangle, blue meant X and so on
I REALLY needed this thank you. If i may ask is there a community for a fighting game beginner like me can get help on getting better? I always want to get a community but fighting games are intimidating to get in to. I really want to enjoy this game while i hVe my chance
The persona arena ultimax discords have a lot of resources for characters and the game but most people there pretty experienced so maybe dont use it for matchmaking till you feel comfortable with the game (or if the player numbers happen to be low lol) there could also be a few new players that also join the discord so if you find those guys you could fight with them and practice together
I’m seeing people do s.naoto combos and ending in the Gun super with the shotgun but they do it twice when they pop shadow is that still a thing because I can’t seem to get the other super to be a true combo
Been waiting for this man!!! So hype, game will be ready within the next 4hrs and 15 mins from now (est time) max. Just wish this was for version 2.5 because Atlus said we're getting version 2.5. Also, after taking a brief look at the version 2.5 patch notes, I think Elizabeth might be better than previous versions. It seems there's been some nice buffs all around (after taking a quick glimpse). ****UPDATE**** We never got it on the 16th :( and I think there are no real differences besides bug fixes from version 2.0-2.5

@@butterflydreamer9649 wow the CPU was better in vanilla? I don't remember at a all... why would they downgrade it in ultimax?
@@giannis_tar Oh shit, bro, I recognized u from the comment section in the Lord Knight vs. Radoric Margaret mirror match from like 6 years ago: ruclips.net/video/d9--PcYiWoc/видео.html Btw, do u know if Radoric is playing this game again?
@@Freshman_FGC haha yes, that's me!! Radoric never stopped playing dude. He often commentates in persona fight club
Half of these attacks I don't understand how to execute at all. The command list uses arcade stick icons and not normal buttons, I can't translate that :(
Unless you’re playing on pc, you can just go into training and memorise what is what. On PS3 the icons were coloured in the way of the controller, so red meant circle, green meant triangle, blue meant X and so on
You have talked about anti airs a lot my question can you just air grab moves such as chies air move that beats anti airs?
step 1 : get game
step 2 : choose teddie
step 3 : profit.
Yu and Mitsuru are my absolute favorites.
Thanks for this!
Been waiting for this
I’ve been waiting for this!
Oh yeah I was waiting on this one
Junpei is kind of like Labrys in that he needs to build up power, except his power doesn't go away if you stop attacking
I hope there are tutorials on the way for this game. I want to try ken and rise but they sound like they have more going on than a normal character.
There’s a lesson mode that really goes in depth
Ken is deceptively simple in my opinion. When I compare him to playing Carl or Zato it feels super easy.
after 3 reload & hopefully 4 remake dropping soon, this ll get some more more mileage
@@papercat5829 alright thanks! Ill check it out
@@khp1803 i wouldve given you the link to make it easier to find but youtube deleted it xd. Probably thought it was a bot link or something
@@papercat5829 its ok ill find it myself. Need some time myself on finishing the story thanks anyways 👍
@@khp1803 np. Hope you enjoy the game:)
I can't wait to bring live on stage to the masses
The art in this game is so good. All the portraits are amazing. Then the IK portraits too
I’m seeing people do s.naoto combos and ending in the Gun super with the shotgun but they do it twice when they pop shadow is that still a thing because I can’t seem to get the other super to be a true combo
Question, is Teddie still strong despite the nerfs he got?
Teddie is still pretty solid yeah
Yes. His item gameplan is just less one sided braindead now
@@mrharvy100 damn, guess I won't play him then
Love the content!
We've got rollback now! Interested in LK's thoughts.
Is there any character that would go well with someone that plays millia in strive?
What's the music that starts in 20:06
sorry i’m late but i think it’s Map 1 from P2 OST (source: ruclips.net/video/tdAD8YRDsTo/видео.html )
Ayy, thanks a lot, you're awesome
I like playing yukari, ken, Margaret and rise
Been waiting for this man!!! So hype, game will be ready within the next 4hrs and 15 mins from now (est time) max. Just wish this was for version 2.5 because Atlus said we're getting version 2.5. Also, after taking a brief look at the version 2.5 patch notes, I think Elizabeth might be better than previous versions. It seems there's been some nice buffs all around (after taking a quick glimpse).
****UPDATE****
We never got it on the 16th :( and I think there are no real differences besides bug fixes from version 2.0-2.5
