Sailed on her in July and had a blast! It was my first cruise and I think the small ships are where it’s at for me.

@@stephenhauck5251 yes, we had the Premium Beverage Package. We opted out of the dining package, and enjoyed all of our meals either in the Main Dining Room or Windjammer!
sailed in July and booked again for Oct. love love love this small ship w few children and.....amazing dinning service/food!!!
@@stephenhauck5251 did not spend one dollar on extra anything...did not even get off in port. had a ball!!! 🥰
We will be on a back 2 back 2 back in January 2023.
Are so much looking forward to it, we looooooove the old, cozy ships.

Just booked for October 28, 2023 to Belize, Honduras and Cozumel. Thanks for the great tour. We have sailed on many Royal ships but never this one. Looking forward to it and the ports which we have never visited.

We’re booked for Oct 14th. We’re diamond level but never been on anything smaller than Freedom class. We are seniors 69/73 and have been there done that including star class with the genie so looking for just quiet relaxing cruise, eating, drinking, pool, cards, backgammon, cribbage, etc. I’m disabled with a scooter so we’re in owner’s suite to have room to park it. 😊

We will be on the Grandeur of the Seas on March 24th. This is by far our favorite ship.
We really enjoy the casino. It is one of the main reasons we sail. Also enjoy Cozumel. Such a cool city with a friendly vibe.

We were on the 5 night cruise and they did a 90's & 00's White Night Disco Dance Party on Day 3 and 70's Disco Inferno Party on Day 4.
We are cruising on the Grandeur on Friday out of Galveston. It’s our third rci cruise, but first time for grandeur!

Grandeur is a beautiful ship . She sailed from Baltimore for many years. She caught fire unfortunately here, and after repair she repositioned away from Baltimore.
was on this ship when it was new i think late 90s. I think it was and is the perfect size cruise ship. I remember it being very nice with the usual RC layout they used for years after
Claire prefers the vision class (this layout) over the newer ones. This class seems to have a homier feel. Michael prefers the larger ships.
@@ClaireandMichael Grandeur comes in at 73,817 GT, making her the smallest ship in the fleet. She is also currently the oldest in the fleet, entering service on December 14, 1996.
I sailed on her in the inaugural season in ‘97 then again in ‘04. Had a wonderful time, nothing beats Majesty of the Seas in my book but I still love these ships. Less amusement park and more classic cruise ship!
i was on it in 2003....seemed huge at the time....but now the ships are way bigger

Great video guys, really useful. Am on a 9 night cruise in Dec and just wondered for the formal nights, did many gents wear a tuxedo or just a normal shirt/suit?
We barely saw anyone wearing tuxes or gowns. Michael wore suit without a tie and felt over dressed. You might want to watch day 2 of our vlog to see what people wore that evening.

My friend and I are booked for 19-24 August cruise on her. She looks like a more traditional older style cruise ship. This will be only my second RC cruise. My last RC cruise was pre-COVID on the LoS.
A traditional older style cruise ship is probably a good way to summarize Grandeur. Hope you guys enjoy your cruise!

i love those spirit shirts and that one that says, "cruising queen" which looks like a spirit shirt as well? we will be booking her for next october for a group cruise. great tour. thanks so much. ps the schooner bar is a favorite across different cruiselines. hoping they still have the spiced daquiri. i also love the viking crown lounge. hush party? yes please...guessing it is similar to silent disco on carnival which is a huge favorite. love those park cafe hours. you really convinced me i might actually enjoy a royal ship. in the past? nope. least favorite line and i swore them off. however....my large group voted to sail royal, so when in rome...since i am the group leader. lol. you make me feel like it might be a good ship choice!

Nice video. We have been on the biggest ships before but now were planing on going to this one because of the route. Was it a lot of fun? Or did you guys wish that you were on one of the bigger when you were there?
So we actually have different opinions - Claire loves the smaller ships because they are easier to navigate, and they have a "cozier" feel, while Michael prefers the space the larger ships offer. However, we both love hitting the ports of Cozumel and Costa Maya! They are great destinations, and we always enjoy our time there.
We are considering booking the Grandeur for a 9night cruise in november. First time cruisers. Hopefully we will enjoy the ship as it is the best dates for us given our return tickets home

On the art piece, the two kissing are olives. The artist has a whole series around the life of the olives.
We enjoy finding pieces by the same artist on the ship.
Hello! Do you have to tip crew members in cash? Or is what they automatically add enough?
You can prepay gratuties as apart of your total fare. Though, we also leave cash tip for our stateroom stew and bartender that we visit frequently.
I have a birthday cruise planned in August on her.

Going on this boat next week. How are the beds? are they comfortable?
We think the beds are comfortable, but they are a bit on the firmer side.
I'm looking at 7-day cruise on this cruise because of the ports and destinations. But how fun is the cruise for kids and teens?
This ship doesn't have much for kids.

At 12:12, you said all the pools are "Salt water"...did you mean have Chlorine or do you actually mean the pools are salt water?
From what we understand...Grandeur has saltwater pools with chlorination.

We honestly do not remember it smelling bad. Hopefully it smells fine in October when you sail.

i was on this ship in 2003 and it seemed huge....but now i took princess emerald cruise and its way bigger.....they keep jacking up the size
