Just returned 11/24/2023 from a 10 day cruise on Grandeur. We are Platinum members, with a dozen or more cruises. We are very easy going, don't look to complain, and go with the flow. Especially because the staff are kind, hard working, and need the jobs. With that said, it was the most disappointing cruise we ever had. The food and dining. Night one, glass had lipstick. Forgot to take our drink order. Set my steak down, walked away, and no one ever made eye contact for me to tell them I needed a steak knife. Steak got cold before I finally was able to get one. Never refilled the water. That dinner took 1 hour and 45 minutes to finish. That was the first night. We're not snobs or complainers. Its just that every night, same kind of lack of service. It was bad enough that we asked to sit in a different section. The head Server was a nice guy, but he just kept coming to give is excuses. For example, came to apologize, and walked away without taking away dishes, and didn't get someone to bring us drinks. So he didn't help at all, just try to save their ratings it felt like. We felt like jerks because we don't want to complain. We want to be easy to please. But the food has gone downhill. And I think they were understaffed. Not like we were used too. With high level attention. This was like a bad restaurant. And not once on this cruise, in the main dining, did we have one meal that was memorable. Not one food item, soup, anything. Usually its good food, and a few that just really stand out that you always remember. This was like hospital food half of the time, and nothing incredible. Eating at Chops was the only real impressive meal. Giovanni's was just ok. Isumi was good, beautiful presentation, but I have better sushi at home. The dining room was such a fail, we started going to the buffet, which is NOT what we like to do. But the service frustrated us, and the food was disappointing.
23:37 Thank u for these viseos. they were very helpful. my husband and i just got home from our anniversary cruise. He enjoyed these coconut srimp too. it was interesting to me how the videos do not campture the calmness of the ship. We found several places ....the lounge behind the scoonerbar and the lounge outside the sauna area that were totally empty...perfect for reading. our goals were to read 2 books each. 🥰🥰 we accomplished our goals
I was on the Grandeur about 16 years ago… our three kids would not like the Grandeur compared to the cruises we did we them. The food still looks amazing.
best video ever. just what i was looking for thank you!!!! p.s. how do you feel the food on this ship compared to bigger and newer royal caribbean ships? most notably the windjammer and main dining room. did the live entertainment quality match the live shows from the other bigger and newer royal caribbean ships? sans the aquatheater of course
We haven't been on the oasis class ships just yet...but soon. The food and entertainment have been consistent between vision, voyager, and freedom class. You get more choices on the specialty dining side such as not all ships have Playmakers or Sabor.
We really enjoyed the Grandeur! She's a great small ship. Grandeur offers a more "classic" Cruising experience, but it really comes down to what you are looking for!
do u happen to remember if the pastries at latte-tudes were free? ive heard some people saying free, and others saying only free if you buy a specialty cofee
All of the food shown in this video is included in the price of the cruise. There are speciality dining restaurants which come at an extra fee, but we dine in those on this cruise.

Thanks for the review. I am looking forward to our cruise on this ship.
Can't wait to be there for our back2back2back in Jan/Feb.
We plan to go on this ship in June 2024 for 5 Night Bahamas cruise😊
We just got off Independence of the Seas last Thursday!
Same here pal, my first 💜🦄💜

Thanks for the video. We will be on this ship on December 2nd for 9 nights. Can't wait
Hope you enjoy it!
They didn’t have lobster tail available ( without a upcharge ) on our recent Independence of the Seas cruise!

We found the food to be pretty consistent on all Royal ships.
we LOVED the food so much more than Disney that we booked another cruise right away! We enjoyed.....very few children 🥰😉
If you say “gluten free” ONE more TIME! 😂😂😂
Looks wonderful. Can't wait for our cruise in February. I also cant have gluten and dairy so it looks promising!
Yes! It is so fun to have new and exciting dining options.
The dinner roll has asiago cheese melted on top. I liked it. We were on grandeur last week. Say hi to Vidra for us.
oh YES they were delicious and the onion soup was aaahhh oh how i miss it. The staff were very kind and hardworkers.
Yes Michael loves those rolls.
Agree that the crew work incredibly hard non stop for 6-8 months straight.

Thanks for sharing
They will keep bringing out lobster! At least they did on Odyssey last year!
We are booked for Oct but not keen on the fact on embarkation day only the Windjammer is open for lunch.
Nice video!!! How many day was this cruise?
5 day cruise
Great video. Would you recommend cruising on this ship?

@@ClaireandMichael thank you for answering my question
Glad that I don't have any dietary restrictions. I don't get the whole "gluten free" thing at all.
If you have gluten allergy, you can get really sick when you eat gluten. My friend has it and it's awful. I'm glad I don't.
Your very picky
