This is a waaaay better option than a maryland bridge
They work very well in the right situation.
I have a fractured tooth #30 that previously had a root canal. It is very frustrating that alternative options aren't even suggested just "you need an implant". I can't afford one nor do I want one. This is the first I've heard of a monodont bridge. I was thinking of asking about a Maryland bridge. The more research I do the more options I find. Any opinion would be appreciated - I'm 77.
Hi, I don't recommend the monodont bridge or a Maryland bridge to replace a back tooth, they don't last long in those situations. I usually recommend either a dental implant, a removable bridge, or a fixed bridge to replace #30. Which option would be best would depend on your situation. Not replacing the tooth is always an option too.

i am excited about yhe monodont bridge . My missing tooth no. 9 is between two implants with porcelain crown and i wonder if the monodont bridge can be bonded to porcelain ? a reply will be much appreciated .
Hi Jo, if your missing tooth is between two implants, you are better off getting a new 3 tooth bridge on the implants.
Can you floss , do you still lose bone ?
Do they look like all your other teeth
You need to use a floss threader to floss underneath it since it is attached to the teeth on either side. You will lose bone since it's not in the bone. Yes it is made to match your other teeth.
@@VeryNiceSmileDental I mean I don’t know what else to do . My insurance won’t cover it and I’m doing everything on my own . If I could afford an implant I’d get one . They make everything so expensive. What do you tell people who can’t afford it or aren’t good candidates for implants
Options to replace a missing front tooth are either an implant, a fixed bridge (conventional 3 unit bridge, or a monodont or maryland bridge), of a removable bridge. Some of my patients will opt to get a temporary removable bridge (called a flipper) to wear until they save up money for an implant. Some will go with a monodont bridge.
Where can you get a monodont bridge in central PA?
Talk to your dentist about it. You can try calling Dental Arts Lab (the dental lab that makes Monodont bridges) and ask them for a referral. Here is a link to their website, dentalartslab.com/products/dal-monodont-bridge/
Can this be done on a canine?
Ideally, canines should be replaced with either a dental implant or a removable bridge. A canine can be replaced with a fixed bridge or a monodont, but it won't last as long due to the forces placed on the canine when you bite and chew.

Yes, to replace a canine, either get a dental implant to replace it or a removable bridge.
My daughter has one and it fell out, and she can't get an appointment until December to get it repaired. What can she do in the meantime. Its been about a year since she got it the monodont. Thanks
Is it in one piece? If the teeth are sensitive in the spots where the monodont fits, she can place some temporary filling material to protect the teeth. I made a video about the temporary filling material here ruclips.net/video/SdcqWhplJZQ/видео.html Otherwise, just have her keep the teeth clean and don't lose the bridge. The temporary filling material isn't strong enough to temporarily cement a monodont bridge back into place. Thank you very much for watching.

I have patients with 10 year old Monodont bridges that I placed. As with everything dental related, how long something lasts depends on many variables.

Hi, it takes 2 visits. First visit takes about a half hour. Second visit takes about an hour.

It depends. The oldest one I still see regularly was place in 2013.

Implants cost like $5000
I just have one missing tooth from biting on a rib and I don’t have $5000 , I just want something affordable than can last a very long time
How long dental work lasts depends on many variables. Some you have control over some you don't.
I have one last molar tooth on the left bottom that I had did root canal on and 2 missing teeth after that.
I was saving money to get a bridge and yesterday it broke of all the way to my gum line. There is only tiny piece left. I can’t stop crying thinking that now I lost my chance to get a bridge done. What are my choices now ?

Hi, ideally I would remove the tooth and place a dental implant at the same visit. Then in 5-6 months, you will have a tooth.
How long warranty monadont bridge
Hi, most dentists will stand behind their work if it fails prematurely. There usually is no specific warranty period with dental work unless your dentist tells you ahead of time.

To replace a missing incisor, I prefer the monodont bridge to a Maryland bridge. If you are missing a canine tooth, I recommend a dental implant or a removable bridge.
