Hi, I've a had a couple of patients who had an upper snap in denture on 4 implants, then they lost 2 of the implants. They didn't want to have any more implants placed, so I made them a new upper denture that used just the 2 remaining implants. With only 2 implants, the palate needed to be covered for better retention and stability.
Thanks for the information, but I'm still confused on what is the best way to go. My previous dentist told me I couldn't get regular (polygrip) glue in dentures because of bone protrusion in my lower jaw. My new dentist says they can grind that out. But is recommending a All on 4 type but didn't mention maintenance.
Hi, yes the bone protrusions (tori or exostosises) can be removed surgically. All on 4 type will be the most like your own teeth but the most expensive initially and going forward if it breaks. I saw a person recently who was on his third upper all on 4 and needs a second lower all on 4. The implants are ok, he breaks the teeth. Removable overdentures (snap ins) are less expensive but are more like dentures than teeth. Regular dentures are the least expensive but the least like teeth. Is that helpful? Hi, the biggest issue would be getting follow up care after the initial procedure. Are you going to go back to Mexico for adjustments or if you have a problem with some of the treatment?
The reason I am watching this video is because I went to Sani Dental in Los Algodones in Mexico in March of 2022. I spent 18,000 for bridges, crowns and implants. I was told in December of 2023, after numerous infections, that the dentist I had been assigned to previously was in experienced. They drilled off all of the work that they had done in 2022, and started over. None of the crowns were set and sealed correctly. 3 months later one of the poorly placed implants failed. I was at an American clinic for four hours today. I am losing my teeth and have to decide between snap on dentures or all on fours. Some dentist in Mexico are good. Some are not. Be careful. They do not give refunds.
So what happens when you pay 50k and get an infection where you have to get implant removed? I know 2 people that had to get implants removed at there own expense.
Hi, it will depend on the office. Some offices charge for removal some don't. Most will charge for a replacement implant. It's a good idea to discuss it with them before you commit to treatment.
Hi Dr... I imagine it may not be (as) supportive as all on 4, but re cost containment... Would a full upper, snap on... all on 2, or all on 3, be doable and ok (in terms of stability and usage)? Hi, I have several patients who went with a regular full upper denture and a lower snap in denture on 2 implants. That is usually the most cost effective option.
@@VeryNiceSmileDental Thanks. I think the full lower snap on, all on 2, would be doable for my husband (who has a full traditional upper for years and now needs a full lower), if we can afford it. I have never worn any form of dentures (just a partial upper bridge). So, the experience is unknown to me, and sounds daunting. I have extra glandular sjogren's and fear issues with infections on sore spots on my gums and saliva imbalance causing a lack of suction with a traditional full upper. ??? Because of dryness, a goiter, Gerd, IBS, all sjogren's related, I often choke on foods and am not digesting foods fully either. It truly is a medical issue. But, in that we have Medicare and no real dental coverage, barely survive on Social Security now with inflation, and both need dentures, it's also a financial issue. So, I was wondering if a full upper snap in, all on 2, or all on 3, on acrylic, could be done (and would work)?
Hi, sorry to hear about your situation. Chronic dry mouth will make it more difficult to wear a denture. For upper snap in dentures, I usually place 4 implants. But a snap in denture still has to sit on your gums like a regular denture, so you may have issues with it. Are there any dental schools near where you live? They usually provide great dental at reduced costs, but the visits take a lot more time.

Hi, talk to your dentist about your concerns before you get the final zirconia teeth. An all on 4 typically replaces both the teeth and some of the gums so you should be able to get some lip support, but the prosthetic will need to be designed that way.

Why do dentures smell bad? I knew only one person and his dentures, smelled really bad! I think he soaked him at night but they didn't smell well !!!!!!!!!!😮
Hi, plaque and tartar can buildup on dentures just like it can on real teeth. If enough tartar builds up it can be very difficult to remove. I've had people bring in dentures that took me 15 minutes to clean properly.

Hi, I have quite a few patients who are happy with a full upper denture and a lower snap in denture.
@@VeryNiceSmileDental I just don’t know if I want the roof of the mouth covered lol ….and the bite will be better with snap ins -correct? decisions, decision lol
Snap ins won't move around like regular dentures. And yes an upper snap in denture will be smaller than a full denture but you will need 4 implants.
Hi doc. I have a impacted wisdom tooth and a wisdom tooth that has been rotten, but I'm using implant birth control for 9months . But I want to extracted my tooth . Can I extracted it to the dentist while on implant? Or should I have to remove it before extracting my wisdom tooth??
Pls I need some answer po doc!
What in the world would make you think those 2 topics would have ANY sort of connection or effects on one another?😂 THATS what I would be concerned about If I were you 😳😬☠️☠️☠️
I bought all on 6 fixed implants
Awesome! How do you like them?
So the more snap on you have the more unlikely they will no come loose and have more powerful bite?
Hi yes basically. From weakest to strongest bite force it goes regular denture, snap in with 2 snaps, snap in with 4 snaps, bar overdenture, then fixed teeth (all on 4 or 3 on 6).
Thanks!
Thank you very much ! I appreciate it !!
I just can't see how something not removable is a good idea being that you csn never properly clean it.
Hi, the permanent teeth are designed in such a way that enable you to clean underneath them at home. Some "all on 4" restorations are designed to be removed at the dentists office once a year for a thorough cleaning.
Fixed =$60k. Snap= 10k. It’s a matter of what most people can afford. Who wouldn’t want fixed?!?! I would! Just can’t afford.
Some people can't maintain fixed teeth but they can maintain removable teeth on implants.
Giving thought to full bottom implant snap in dentures ($15+K) (2025) 🤔
😊
Why do dentures smell bad? I knew only one person and his dentures, smelled really bad! I think he soaked him at night but they didn't smell well !!!!!!!!!!😮
Hi, plaque and tartar can buildup on dentures just like it can on real teeth. If enough tartar builds up it can be very difficult to remove. I've had people bring in dentures that took me 15 minutes to clean properly.
