Man, just yesterday as i was practicing lines on Velocidrone with Tinytrainer I was like "Does the tinytrainer feels like this IRL" and you come up with this Im definitely building a Tiny trainer!!!
Its wild how much the new physics and the release of the TT on velocidrone has helped me improve the consistency of things such as tighter orbits up double and triple stack gates. Went from the twig XL to the TT on my track and it highlighted a bunch of stuff for me to improve. Great video! ~Treeseeker
@headsupfpv for sure. I suspect I have a V2 frame in an Xmas stocking for me next weekend. This spring I'll be trying to reach out to my town to get the thumbs up for some club races and revive the TT spec racing around here. Love the content push lately. Well done!
The new aero is so good, the fun thing is it started with some beta testers saying the pro spec was too fast and ended up with Ash coding actual prop deflection physics into the sim in what felt like 5 minutes 😂
It's always possible to go deeper on the multiphysics modeling... eventually framerate become the limfac. We had lots of luck with our just modeling the aero and battery effects with fifth order polynomials, at which point it was definitely 'good enough' to move forward.
the sim stuff i think could turn into a really cool series. i know people have done it before but i feel like with all the new updates on sims lately, it would be nice to get a update on a pro's view for all of them out there. thanks for the content Evan!
Great video as always and love the new content. I have a low/moderate spec pc and the sim is not anywhere close to actual flying because the gravity is off when I go fast, especially during tight turns. Drives me crazy but agree that the sim is realistic if your pc can handle it
Thanks! How many frames are you getting consistently? Best way to up your frame rate is to turn off vsync and make sure the screen mode is set to fast. This should help a lot !
The new velocidrone update goes so hard! Every new quad they added feels very realistic. I think it will translate well to real life, great tools for begineers and pros.
I was truly impressed that from what I can see the flight paths, speeds, accelerations, arcs that it follows thru turns, do look almost identical to the real life video. So I think this is great news for sure. Too bad Velocidrone never seems to go on sale though! Too bad we don't know someone that knows them (cough) so that they could put in a good word for all of us (cough) to get in on a sale price. Cheers!
@@headsupfpv I was kind of just kidding - it is a good price that is very fair. It is just that every other drone sim has gone on sale at some point except this one. How much more "real" do you think it is compared to Liftoff, DRL, or DCL? I love DCL, there is something about the sets and artwork that is just awesome in that game. Lots of good tracks on the other 2 as well but I think DCL from a game point of view is my favorite.
Thanks for video. This topic is always coming up so good to get a real-world and pro answer. Off topic question are those the Night Radian and Night Timber X planes on the side wall?
The side by side comparison is insane … to me it looks like your lines are pretty much the same you may be a little more confident in V-Drone though but that comparison was really crazy to watch !
😢glad to hear that I have been looking to download . Also I'm up here in Corbin KY and not to far from y'all any local clubs or groups you can recommend....
Hi Evan. Maybe consider making a video about all the settings that you use in Velocidrone. Also did you use same Betaflight setting for Tinytrainer in Velocidrone as in real one?
thank you, much appreciated! sims boil it down to the real difference in skill since all boundary conditions are equal other than the remote. when flying in RL you sometimes think that it's due to different material of the drone
I really enjoy watching your videos. I've learned a lot. I do and love flying the velocidrone sim when i can't fly. I do have a question on pid settings. Should i set the pid settings on velocidrone to match my pid settings on the drone? Thanks
Test is completely invalid if you were not listening to the same level of HEAT when you were flying IRL as the NF I KNOW you were listening to grinding the sim 😂 Awesome video Evan! ❤
It's so close that it shouldn't be a question. I started flying with glass propellers that would break if you looked at them wrong. If I had Velocidrone when I started I would be 3 years ahead of my flying skills now. I love Velocidrone and use it all the time
I love Velocidrone, it helped me bigtime in learning, before actually doing the real thing. I'm pretty curious about "tryp" though, as the environments look really stunning. have you tried that one?
Commenting to drive up engagement. Also, if you know a track layout in terms of cardinal directions or the site happens to be in Velocidrone, it's well worth looking up the weather forecast the day before and practicing in the wind conditions. Even if you're just practicing with a few references like where the edge of the field is or a tree or some goalposts or whatever, you can give yourself a huge head-start on the mental gymnastics of compensating for wind, which can translate directly into huge gains on the day. I guess if I was intelligent I'd practice with wind coming from different cardinal directions enough that compensating became natural. But I'm dumb so hey.
1. Thanks for the comment 2.This is a good idea! I guess for indoors it doesn’t matter much, but for out door racing this would be a great thing to try
I'll come out with the controversial version - they don't line up very well until you're fast, and the faster you go the better they line up. Ironically, the best way to get faster is on the simulator.
hey tryp fpv had a physics update, maybe you can take a look at the new version, it is supposed to be very close to velocidrione and there are now also new races and a new map.
My fave physics engine is Reality 1.0. Extreme fidelity with no cheat codes. No reset button, either. ;) Also, the system requirements are almost non-existent; it'll run on anything.
Sims are 95% of realistic with the right settings. You'll adjust more to wind on any given day than the difference from velocidrone physics algorithms.
I'm calling it now, the answer is no it's not a 1:1 comparison, but it'll get you close enough to not destroy the first quad you fly when you do get a real one.
Love your recent videos. Great work for the community!
I appreciate the kind words, I’ll try to keep it up!

Ive been testing the beta for a while and im so happy to see it released. Velocidrone flies so well now. Hats off to Ashley
Absolutely agree. It’s incredible
Great video, gonna grind that Tiny Trainer in Velocidrone to get ready for next months race!!!
Let’s see it baby!

Velocidrone is by far the most valuable asset in drone racing.
100% agree

Sickkk I’m excited to try them out!

No other sims can do that! Good job Velocidrone and Mr Ash!
Totally agree !
its mindblowing how perfect it matches
just as mind blowing as flying the line so perfect that this comparison is even possible 😅
Haha, thanks for the kind words . It really is a great sim!

They are yes! Haha

Totally agree. I was mind blown by the similarities. Definitely do fly a little more ambitious in the sim however haha
My last year flying I utilized Velocidrone to great success. Everything translates to a real quad if you set them up the same way.
Absolutely agree!
😢glad to hear that I have been looking to download . Also I'm up here in Corbin KY and not to far from y'all any local clubs or groups you can recommend....
Kentucky has a very fast growing drone racing scene! Blue grass drone racing is their name, check them out!
Awesome. Five33💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Thanks for the support!
I used the air65 on the new update and it’s so good. I love that there’s a tiny trainer on there now so I can try before I get one
I’m going to try the whoops next!
Awesome video. Also enjoy your content lately! I do have a question for you is there a way to buy a tiny trainer kit or a pre built one?
Yes pre builts are available on the site (link in description) and build kits on the way this year!
Hi Evan. Maybe consider making a video about all the settings that you use in Velocidrone. Also did you use same Betaflight setting for Tinytrainer in Velocidrone as in real one?
Great idea! I use the identical rates irl as I do in the sim, but I’ll do an overview to clarify everything !
@@headsupfpvinclude the camera settings you use in the sim as well, please.
I just came from the flow state documentary.. and my guy just went from 12 to 22 real fast😂😂
Great content by the wAy🦾🦾
LOL, a lot has changed since that doc hahahah
great video!! what cam angle do you run there?
This was 50!
thank you, much appreciated!

Awesome vid. I try to fly on Velocidrone every day and twice on Sunday
😁👊
Sounds like a ticket to getting wayyyy better. Stoked for you!

Comments like this mean the world, thank you. The only pid settings you should change are your rates in the sim in my opinion!
Thank you. Will do.
I’m about to build a tiny trainer to run in our chapter. Does it matter what aio I use? Gonna use your motors
The ones we’ve had the best luck with are definitely the HakRC and Aikon!
@ thanks bud
Test is completely invalid if you were not listening to the same level of HEAT when you were flying IRL as the NF I KNOW you were listening to grinding the sim 😂
Awesome video Evan! ❤
Hahahahahaha I can agree with this
Could you give a download for the map you flew?
Search mondo in track editor downloads section and it will be at the top!
It's so close that it shouldn't be a question. I started flying with glass propellers that would break if you looked at them wrong. If I had Velocidrone when I started I would be 3 years ahead of my flying skills now. I love Velocidrone and use it all the time
I think velocidrone is a key part in any FPV pilots tool belt, it’s amazing!
I love Velocidrone, it helped me bigtime in learning, before actually doing the real thing. I'm pretty curious about "tryp" though, as the environments look really stunning. have you tried that one?
I need to try out Tryp !
Great comparison… I think my next build is going to be a tiny trainer
Sweet! They are definitely awesome training tools
When did velocidrone get good? That looked almost identical. Did the physics feel the same on the sticks?
It's always been good but the latest update last week overhauled the physics and it feels more real now
It’s always been great, but it’s REALLY good now.
Commenting to drive up engagement.

(But I'm also the guy who gets mad that real life whoops fly exactly like the improbable 'whoop physics' in the games)
I think you are absolutely right actually, something I’ve noticed too. Guess the more you improve the better the game becomes haha

that last physics update really made it feel better, if you've got the processor side to turn the slider all the way to ultra-physics.
