Awesome comment about the laser and your hands... I hate when people have nothing to do but nick pick things that are not relevant to the great example you are showing. Great video.
Shaky hands dirty laser, who cares? What you have made with both is outstanding. The best results take the most time, understanding of the process and patience. Top marks on all counts, and a big thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you! Beautiful workmanship and attention to detail! It looks amazing! Would love to see photos of your pieces on the trophies and with the recipients of the awards!
Thanks so much for this video. I can tell you put in some time in creating those and it shows. I know the folks who get these trophy's are glad of the effort. I sure would love to have a laser here so I could try my hand at design and creation. With folk like you who care to show and tell, it would be fun!
Wow wow wow! Very cool! I'm very new to lasering so I don't quite understand the rastering but I'm going to keep looking it up. Not sure my laser will actually cut through clear acrylic, but it will be fun checking it out! Thank you very much for sharing your process step by step. There is no way I'd be able to line that puppy up without a jig of some sort! Very impressive.
Fantastic video and explanation of the process. The texture in the background and black paint really makes it pop. I've been putting off acrylic in my 100w laser but this project is very inspiring.
Very nice quality. Excellent workmanship. Thank you for sharing your processes. I have not delved into acrylic pieces yet but as others have said - your video is so inspiring it makes one want to try their own hand at this. Kudos to you.
A Great Video Brother! I myself am new to the laser engraving community. I will definitely try this method, I’m already in the automotive care and paint industry.
Great vid. Thanks. When you removed the center masking so you could engrave just the center, how did you know you were laying it down on the honeycomb EXACTLY in the same place where you did the first engraving? Sorry if this is a silly question. Only had my laser a few days and not familiar with all the tips and tricks yet? Thanks
Nicely done! The textured background adds a lot. I need to make a similar acrylic part that will lend itself to this technique. What power is your laser? Trying to figure out the equivalent speed/power settings for my 70 watt machine.
Hello, great video! thanks for sharing. One question. (newbie here) When you're lasering away for the text, wouldn't you want to up the power to carve into the acryllic so that the end result is a raised text effect? Like the paint is raised?
I only have three questions! You may have mentioned them, but i might have missed it. What power lazer do you have? I only have a 10w diode. How did you line it up perfectly every time? And where do you get your graphics at? It looks great!
He has a 75W CO2 laser - diode lasers will be able to cut the paper (and maybe minimally etch the surface of the clear acrylic), it will not be able to cut the clear acrylic. As for lining it up perfectly each time, he has a fence to line it up each time in what appears to be the top right of the laser bed. Where he gets his graphics at, that I do not know, but there are plenty of resources out there (vector sites, Etsy, etc.).
Are you using cast or extruded acrylic? Whenever i try this type of process, the paint always bleeds into mico cracks in the engraved area.....be interested to know how you overcome this issue. Fab video, gives me inspiration to try something new today.
I remembered this batch of acrylic came from a friend who has a glass business. It was scraps from one of his jobs. The acrylic sheet has no information on it, so I don’t know if it was extruded or cast. My guess is that it’s extruded.
The part where you raster the Acrylic 8:29 and it doesn’t raster the writing. I’m trying do do this, could you please explain, is it masking or something else,
Are you using air assist when you engrave in that? When I engrave in acrylic, there is always some hidden dust when I apply the colors, which destroys the work.
I am not sure what you mean by aligning the background. If you meant how did I design it, I simply created circles inside each other. Alternating the color between black and white. Then I copied that group many times with an overlap of the circles creating the effect you see.
Awesome comment about the laser and your hands... I hate when people have nothing to do but nick pick things that are not relevant to the great example you are showing. Great video.

Great 👍
Perfect video explaining colour filling job
Just beautiful!. Great job.
VERY COOL!!!! The paint on the back doesn't scratch off with people handling them or them bumping around against each other??
Fantastic video and explanation of the process. The texture in the background and black paint really makes it pop. I've been putting off acrylic in my 100w laser but this project is very inspiring.
Very creative and innovative with a great explanation of the layers and process
Unbelievable !!! You are really artist!
Great work!

So nice. Good job, dude.
great job!!!
Wow! Great video. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience. This is an amazing technique!
Well done, sir! That must have taken a considerable amount of time to figure out the best speeds and power settings! Very impressive, indeed.
Certainly not a quick process, but the end result is very slick and worth your effort. Thanks for sharing.
Very informative, I hope the Chili was as excellent!
Okay, so how many times did you say, "Make sure to reverse your image?" LOL! I'm just going to call the first one a lesson learned. THANK YOU!
Truly amazing and so innovative!
What a video!! Now I have to try this method and process. Excellent job and thanks for sharing!
OK, but how are you lining it up perfectly after picking it up so many times??!
A Great Video Brother! I myself am new to the laser engraving community. I will definitely try this method, I’m already in the automotive care and paint industry.
Love the textured background, good job!
really a great job!!!
OMG I am so impressed your video was great. I hope that I can learn more from you! I have the XTOOL P2 it is a learning process Thank you for sharing!
Awesome! 👍
this looks great...
What a great job. Just what as was looking for TU.
Awesome! Thank you so sharing.
Very nice job
This was great! Thank you for sharing.
I love this so clever. Thank you for sharing
Awesome job. Thanks for sharing
Really cool. Good job
Outstanding!!
Just got my first laser. I love this and want to try an acrylic project. Any advice on where to buy acrylic and what type?
Great vid. Thanks. When you removed the center masking so you could engrave just the center, how did you know you were laying it down on the honeycomb EXACTLY in the same place where you did the first engraving? Sorry if this is a silly question. Only had my laser a few days and not familiar with all the tips and tricks yet? Thanks
how did you locate the piece back on the bed so precisely each time?
This machine has metal strips screwed to the top of the cutting grid. I just make sure it is against those every time.
Nicely done! The textured background adds a lot. I need to make a similar acrylic part that will lend itself to this technique. What power is your laser? Trying to figure out the equivalent speed/power settings for my 70 watt machine.
Thank you! Mine is 75 watts
Really great work. You're an inspiration to me.
Hello, great video! thanks for sharing. One question. (newbie here) When you're lasering away for the text, wouldn't you want to up the power to carve into the acryllic so that the end result is a raised text effect? Like the paint is raised?
You can do that.
Great work!!!
the background texture is great, do you happen to have a link to it or a file, please?
I only have three questions! You may have mentioned them, but i might have missed it.
What power lazer do you have? I only have a 10w diode.
How did you line it up perfectly every time?
And where do you get your graphics at? It looks great!

Are you using cast or extruded acrylic? Whenever i try this type of process, the paint always bleeds into mico cracks in the engraved area.....be interested to know how you overcome this issue. Fab video, gives me inspiration to try something new today.
I used cast acrylic. Microcracks were present but in my opinion it did not affect the end result.
I remembered this batch of acrylic came from a friend who has a glass business. It was scraps from one of his jobs. The acrylic sheet has no information on it, so I don’t know if it was extruded or cast. My guess is that it’s extruded.
Outstanding!
The part where you raster the Acrylic 8:29 and it doesn’t raster the writing. I’m trying do do this, could you please explain, is it masking or something else,
Thanks so much for this great tutorial/video.
May I ask where to buy the masking tape?
The acrylic came masked on both sides! Worked well.
Great Stuff James! I'm up in Canada, just starting out with my laser. What would you charge for something like this? Thx.
This is really and great video, this is inspiring!
how did you place the piece back on the same spot in the laser every time you took it to paint?
Always using the same origin for the laser. Also made sure not to separate the jobs over multiple days to avoid disturbing the homing
Brilliant! I would be worried every time I took the piece out of the laser bed...
That’s tough 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you for providing this video; it was very informative! What is the brand of laser you use? The texture looks great.
Universal laser systems. VLS6.70
Are you using air assist when you engrave in that? When I engrave in acrylic, there is always some hidden dust when I apply the colors, which destroys the work.
Yes, and I use a blow gun and brush to blow off as much dust as I can
This is a masterpiece! Kudos to you, Mr Jameson!
Thank you!
Can this be achieved well with a normal paint like krylon fusion etc?
I have used krylon enamels. They work but take forever to dry. Not cheap either
what would the setting be in using lightburn
How did you align it between engravings? Is there a jig outside of the camera view?
No, the glass’ origin was always at the top corner, so there was no need for a jig.
WOW! AWESOME! JUST FOUND THIS and SUBSCRIBED. To the negative TROLLS, why are you here!!? Find something else to do.
how did you align the background?
I am not sure what you mean by aligning the background. If you meant how did I design it, I simply created circles inside each other. Alternating the color between black and white. Then I copied that group many times with an overlap of the circles creating the effect you see.
VERRRRRRRRY NIIIIIICE TYVM
Just a guess, but that's not a diode laser, is it?
CO2
what type of laser ate you using? Co2 or diode
CO2
Can u share the background?
