Oh wow! I didn't know you were in the hospital. It really is good to see you're doing fine. The help you've provided me over the years has been tremendously beneficial. And I really appreciate you. Your existence is still needed here. 😂. Seriously though, I'm glad you're fine. And I hope is well for you to continue to do what you love to do! 🙂
Hi Rich from Italy. I have followed your channel for months. Non every video but a lot of them . I am going to see this now, but first of all I like to tell to you that you really look a good person who is kind and lovable. I write to send to you my best wishes for your health . Seen the video when you told about the hospital. Don't run. Rest a little bit. We are happy to see you but take your time to relax . Con amicizia. Un abbraccio. Vasco .
I used that method to make a new plaque for my camping trailer. Red, black and white on standard extruded acrylic. Back then, that was on my diode laser, which got me into getting a K40 and doing all the mods on that (and getting a stock of cast acrylic). With the plastic sheets on the extruded plastic, every now and then I heard a sharp crack, when the beam exploded a tiny bubble in the cover sheet. This made a tiny glitch in the painting, but hey, a man on a fast horse will never see that. Over all, the end result is great.
Glad to have you back! I have yet to do this because I'm stuck inside watching your videos lol. I've seen another approach also. Pell the backing off and paint the back all black. Then etch the letters and paint the back white. Then etch the other letters and border and paint the orange. Then cut the shape out. No weeding. As I've said I have not done this but weeding free looks sexy for other intricate designs. Nice vid as always. Thanks for sharing.
From one Rich to another Rich - Thanks for all you have done for this hobby/business. You helped me a lot when I was first getting started and kept me going when I wanted to give up. I am no means an expert but am so far from where I was just a year ago and you played a big part in that. As a guy of a certain age, I can relate to your recent off-camera activities and am really glad to see you on the mend. Thanks again!
Hi Rich, Thank you for all that you do. You always have great information and techniques that you gladly share with complete strangers. I will hop on the Band Wagon and say you are looking and sounding great and I am glad that you are feeling better. Thank You again and God Bless.
WOW, That's AMAZING. You show us so much stuff. I need to try this. Glad you came out ok from the hospital. Your looking great. Thanks, Rich for all you do.
You are my go to when I want to try things on the best way to go about it. Absolutely love your videos. Extremely glad to see you have the same RM Laser as I do. Looking forward to when you put out a settings library for it. Thank you for everything you do! Not all heroes wear capes.
Hi Rich, watched your last video but did not comment but now I feel I must. I must say, between the two videos, in this one you look so much better I hope you are making good progress. Thank you so much for the videos you produce, they have taught me so much about laser engraving, cutting and the use of lightburn. Before watching your lightburn videos I did not want to use it as it looked so complicated but through watching you and your tutorials I will now not use anything else. Many thanks, keep up the good work and take care of yourself

Yes, I have Rick. I even did a stained glass look on windows 2 years ago for a commissioned job for attic windows for a Church. Fortunately they were in the attic and didn't need to be double sided. They save over 4K on the job.
Hi Rich glad you’re doing better. You are the best Lightburn instructor I’ve seen. I have learned so much from your videos, you make Lightburn very simple. I started out with an Atomstack P7 and upgraded to an Atomstack S40. Thank you very much for your great work.
I did this same thing on a piece of scrap acrylic a few months ago to test. Weeding was a huge challenge because there were a lot of fine outlines and by the time I got to the 5th-8th colors, there was so muchpaint build up. Still came out well for a first attempt.
Wow great video, watching you from Cape Breton, Canada. Love all your video's and I tell everyone about your You Tube channel because you ARE the best to watch and learn for laser stuff. So thank you sir for doing all these video's and sharing with us.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy I had foot surgery and had to stay off my foot for 6 weeks. I thought I was going expire. Hang in there brother, it will be worth the effort.
Just a thought on the dehumidifier... I live in East Texas, so we have comparable humidity levels. My sister struggled with the humidity ruining so many of her projects. She got a dehumidifier that is for an area way larger than her work room. It made a huge difference. Maybe use multiple dehumidifiers, or much bigger one. I'm learning lots from you. Maybe this will be helpful to you.
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Dang. Wah wah. Oh well, I'm off to watch your video about installing the new version of lightburn without messing up my settings!
I did my shop signs using different colors of Lexan, then put the puzzle together using CA glue. That way I could light it from behind with LED strips.

@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy okay, that's cool 🙂 I just find the vibrancy of the colours is lost with black behind them. Maybe next time I'll put a black dummy layer on the back once I'm complete and compare 🙂
Hey Rich. Watched your video and decided to give this a try. I had some 3/32" clear acrylic. First, tried to find what setting would work to make the cuts in the plastic coating just using a small 1/4" square for the test. Seems like a plastic coating might nor work well since it tends to melt. Plus, when I tried to weed using a weeding tool, I scratched the acrylic. Would you suggest using acrylic that's covered in paper? Second, tried to find a good setting for making the cut. Found something on my OMTech K40+ that worked but didn't seem to be that clean. Any suggestions? Thanks...!!!
I don't think the plastic will get a clean edge. Remove the plastic and use transfer tape to cover the acrylic. There's a link to it in the description of the video.
