Glad surgery went good Dave! Great video! I make Texas fridge magnets with the scraps from the prefinished plywood. Another way to make a few dollars at the shows.
I have so much trouble working with the nodes, how did you learn to manipulate them so well? I make these names quite often, too, and sometimes like having the first letter separate so I can get a longer word by cutting it on its own. Good information!
Hey Clack, Looking into upgrading my Xtool 20w to the 40w diode...do you think its worth the $1000 for just the 40w laser ? I'm looking into other options also like buying a separate 40w all together and keeping my 20w in place. Any guidance from you and our fellow community members is greatly appreciated. Kenny in Florida
A 40 watt would be a game changer on cutting. That is a lot to spend on an upgrade. You know that I like having multiple machines, I would probably add another. That way you have a "plan B" if something fails. It also makes jobs faster with 2 machines.
I got a x40 max yesterday I forgot to measure the biggest size of wood that will fit and I was going to Home Depot this afternoon to get wood and let them cut it up for me
I've made a few smaller name signs, limited to 16" currently. I just hate painting them, I much prefer when the customer requests them stained. But when painting, how do you avoid overspray on the edges or do you also paint the edges? Thanks for the video.
I notice that you lightburn screen is horizontal. I upgraded my xtool d1 non pro to the extended version but can't get my screen to look like yours, mine is vertical, how do you get it horizontal? TIA
Maybe you mentioned it your video and I missed it…. What is the thickness of the pre finished plywood and what is brand name of it. Also Where do I get it? I saw your material link but it really didn’t help me find what you’re using.
@@TheClackShack I clicked the link. But it just showed different brands and no purchasable products so maybe I just don’t know how to navigate the site. Thanks though.

Thanks. I generate more scrap than I can use.. Good idea.
Nice work! You're getting pretty good at this! 🤪 _I find that just plain water works to clean pre-finished material._
Thanks.. I like the drying speed of the alcohol.
Some really good techniques taught to us in this video. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great Project to get my feet wet. I made smaller name tags for my coworkers children. I'm hoping that it will spur some additional requests.
Maybe so.. good luck
I always learn something new with your videos. Thanks
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for sharing. Something to think about.
Thanks for watching!
I love the stencil suggestion. I made an inward outline at .50 and it worked well for placement. Where did you find the pre-finished material?
Cool. rugbyabp.com/products/plywood/
Very nice idea. Now I need to figure a way to use my S1 to make a larger item than my bed size.
Good luck
Conveyor could do it

I am still learning with node editing. I get lots of practice
Where can I find a good Sign Fonts? Thanks for the lesson. Tim
Adobe, Google and DaFont are my go to places
DYK? While in node editing mode you can drag a line between nodes directly to adjust the curves.
There are lots of things that I don’t use.. cool

How can we order these from you? I’d like to have one for my son coming in January and my daughter.
I only do local orders. Shipping would be a pain.
@@TheClackShack I completely understand that for sure.

I use 17.5x35 inch
@@TheClackShack I got Home Depot to cut them 18x33 so I was close

If you don't want paint on the edges, paint the material before cutting or paint it while it is in the material it was cut from.
What are the fonts you recommend that look like handwriting, and where can we find them
Most of mine are from Adobe or Google but you can search script fonts on DaFont also.
What is the specific wood you use for the name signs? What is the thickness and type of wood?
1/4 inch birch
Where do you find the prefinished plywood?
Rugby Material
Where you get the bigger pieces of wood to use
rugbyabp.com/products/plywood/
What font did you use for Cade?
If it isn't in the video, I don't recall.
@ for that section of the video the font bar is cropped out or isnt shown so its not

Mine is that way due to the Atomstack x40 being a wide machine rather than longer.

I get it at Rugby Materials, link in the description. It is 1/4 inch pre-finished birch.

@@aprilrowdenministries that’s all they have in the way of a website.
Are you using 1/4" wood?
yes, the actual thickness is 4.7mm
@@TheClackShack Thank you so much! We love your videos! My wife and I watch them together... Have a good evening buddy!
I can’t make them that size but I could make them big enough to go on a child’s bedroom door.
That would work..
Oh know your C was backwards😂
Your paint table looks alot like my paint 50 gallon trashcan with cardboard on the top
On xcs you can remove all the voids from an offset. Not sure if theres a way on lightburn. Still learning it
I just cut it out, haven't mounted yet. My paint booth is high tech...
Maybe a way, I just delete

What you are charging for these seems far too cheap given size, time and material costs.
Material costs me about $3, I do fine on them.
@@TheClackShack I think you undervalue your time, but only you know what that should be. Regardless, appreciate your content.
