Would masking over the total area than engraving through the tape leaving a masked area that would not be stained by the powder work? It may save cleaning time as i see some red powders may stain wood or naaa?
I am curious about how this is done to acrylic. Etching acrylic happens from the bottom up so, how do you add powder to the piece when it must be upside down? Forgive me if this is a dumb question. I do not yet have a laser machine, still studying the possibilities.
So it happens from the top down in most cases but with a short focus lens you could engrave inside the plastic if you got skills... they only seem to engrave the back because a sign ect would be engraved mirrored so when hung the engraving is at the back.
every machine will be different power ad speed.. the setting I used in my machine are mentioned in the video.. Technically you need to find the your machine's setting that will melt the powder... normally 400 fahrenheit
good video but where did you buy the powder from ??? thanks
Thanks for sharing. I assume you turn off air assist when lasering the powder?
You got it ! Otherwise it blows the powder all over
What kinda powder is used does anyone know?
