Eddie Murphy in the 80’s was so huge he performed his stand up act at sold out stadiums. Like Queen or Bon Jovi 😂 Then they filmed him doing his hour and half of stand up called it a movie and put it in movies theaters. And that movie is Eddie Murphy RAW!
Even if you can’t react because it’s super “R Rated” you two should definitely check it out just for fun. It’s some of funniest stand up of all time!
This was what Eddie was doing when he turned down being part of “We Are The World”. Something he regretted. Spoke about it on Jimmy Kimmel.
Yes Eddie had a pretty successful Music Career also has a song with Michael Jackson called “Wazzupwitu” the video is hella trippy tho simply cause it’s Green Screen and it was just a favor from MJ lol cause Eddie did MJ’s Short Film for “Remember The Time” which is iconic but the song is a classic very underrated track between MJ & Eddie✍🏽✨🎯💯💯💯
Was just going to say the same thing. Love that video
Richard Pryor actually started out singing then went into comedy. Another comic that has a good singing voice is Jamie Foxx.
Yeah Eddie can sing…check him out on Dream Girls. Rick James wrote this song…as you can see that him in the video.
Sorry to inform you Rick James sang it. I heard it back in 85 just found out a month ago
@@Mark-iv7np so that’s not Eddie singing. I heard the song in the 80’s too
@@Mark-iv7np dude Eddie sung that song. Rick did back up
@@Mark-iv7np wrong. Eddie sings lead, you got the wrong info
Wait, Rick wrote it?? I thought the reason it was generic was that (comedian) Eddie wrote it. Mind blown.
Rick James is in this video and I think he produced this song. You need to react to Rick James - 'Super Freak'.
And wrote the song… it’s a Rick James song that Eddie sang. That was prob the bet.
Eddie Murphy used to do a great impression of Michael Jackson. Its in his first comedy special "Delirious".
Ha ha, you're right.
Stevie Wonder on SNL.
I'll say this: When this song came on in the club back in the 80's, ALL the girls hit the dance floor, so that got my ( and all the other fella's) attention! ... This song was pretty damn popular believe it or not . . . . .
I'm not sure if you know this or not, but Eddie Murphy's started his career in comedy. If I remember right, he was one of the original cast members of Saturday Night Live, and was funny as hell. He was also a stand up comedian in the 80's and let me tell you, they guy was like a ROCK star in that world. You should check out some of his comedy bits from his 'Delirious' tour or his 'Raw' tour. Be prepared to censor though, the language is not safe for RUclips's algorithm.
He was not an original cast member, he was '81 to '84. He has been said to have saved SNL because as the original cast left slowly, the shows quality also dropped. His characters were what everyone tuned in for.
@@papamaniac2410 thank you for the correction!
Are you trolling or do you actually think people don't know Eddie was a giant stand up? You're either really old or really young bc yeah no shit Cpt Obvious. Did you not notice when they called him a comedian?
@@FURTHER_ADO I have a few choice words for you but youtube will not let me post them so instead I'll try to take the Chris Rock path and try to be a better human than you, which is probably not hard to do. I posted this before it premiered, so I did not hear what they had to say in the reaction of the song. I've been watching reaction videos for years now, whether it is movies or songs and I've seen many people who have no clue Eddie Murphy was a stand up comedian. They only know him from the terrible movies he has made since the 90's. The fact that you do no realize this with younger youtube posters seems to make you the dumb ass.
SNL debut in 1975, Eddie Murphy would have been about 15 at that time.
Eddie is one of the funniest people around. Rick James in the booth. Y'all should do Super Freak by Rick James. Cocaine was Big in the 80's 😂
"Cocaine is a hell of a drug" :P
"Cocaine's a he'll of a drug!!"
@mattjohn4731 Funny shit! I just sent that then noticed you did. I wonder how many people get that!!
This came out when I was 10 years old and my mom and I used to wait for it to come on the radio. Everyone loved Eddie Murphy in the 80’s you should check out his older movies like Beverly Hills Cop and 48 hours.
the sound of this song is VERY 80's with the synthesizer/keyboards. Man we LOVED this song in 85!
He hit #2 just because people wanted to hear what he sounded like. He was smart and kept his regular job!!
Eddie Murphy has a song with Snoop called "Red Light".
I picture Rick James in the booth saying "sing it darkness!".
Ha ha Yes!
This song was a JAM back then! People were in awe that Eddie put a song out, he was so famous even back then, people were like " wuut? He put a song out? OKAY I'M WITH IT!!"💕💕
You should see his performance in the movie Dream Girls with Beyonce. He can actually sing really well.
eddie man with meny talents acting, imitation, singer, stand up comedian... one is eddie!!!!
The Murphy's and Rick James were REALLY close. Rick James wrote this track and produced his album. People who are really good with impressions can usually sing pretty good because they have such good voice control. Just look at Jamie Foxx
This song will forever give me a good almost giggling feeling.Eddie Murphy and Jamie Fox both sing their A.. off in Dreamgirls.❤Rick James big hit is (Super Freak).
It was pretty good. Another surprise was Patrick Swayze had a pretty good song too.. She's like the Wind
Crockett and Hutch had songs too.
WTF?
Love this,. Every time we walked in a club the first thing I did was ask the d.j. For this song. 💃🕺. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Rick James on the adlibs
Love Eddie! This song is still a favorite of mine!!
I have loved this song since it came out. There were many times over the years that RUclips, knowing this, would recommend it to me at 3 in the morning and the answer is always "yes, RUclips. I think I will" 🤭
Bruce Willis also had a hit song, "Respect Yourself". It wasn't great. But it might be cool to listen to it since he just announced his retirement from acting due to aphasia. 🙏🏼
For Rick James, you must start with "Superfreak" because you know that song even if you don't know it but my favorite of his is "Give It To Me Baby".
Rick James was a master producer
The gentlemen with the long hair singing at the end with Eddie is the great Rick James !
I loved this song when it came out. You have to think of it like this. Most comedians that can pull off and mimic different voices can actually sing. A lot of them do sing. It's in their voice control.
You've never seen Eddie's stand up shows? We always knew he could sing because song parodies were often part of his act!
You should def react to Rick James’ “give it to me baby”
Gotta Love Eddie & Pimpin Rick!! 🔥
Now was this before or after Rick rubbed his muddy boots all over Eddie's couch?
lololol
You might be surprised how many actors have songs out there. Heck, Bruce Willis and Don Johnson each had songs/videos on MTV.
*Eddie Murphy* has a pretty good voice and yes he does have other songs! Here's a list of his songs that might surprise you *Red Light (Duet with Snoop Dogg), What's Up Wit You (Duet with Michael Jackson), I was King ( Duet with Shabba Ranks), Promise (You Won't Break My Heart)* and *Temporary* check these out you'll be surprised. *Love ❤️ Peace ☮️ and Happiness 😃 Y'all !!!*
He also sings "Boogie In Your Butt". Gotta hear that one.
Rick James/Teena Marie-Fire & Desire is a must.
' Eddie Murphy! Youre the Fuck You man!' .. 😁 lol.... Correction Eddie if your girl likes to party all the time then shes NOT YOUR GIRL,,,,.... SHES OUR GIRL!... LOL
Just some of the best dance music 🎶 EVER!!
I don't think a lot of people took the song 'seriously' but it was a fun beat and Eddie was really making us laugh in the 80s. 😆
Eddie Murphy had done the song with Michael Jackson and Eddie Murphy has another song that he did too, this one's called I was a king. Eddie Murphy supposedly had done I was a king for the Malcolm x soundtrack.
Now you have to do some Rick James
Now you guys have to do Eddie Murphy- Put Your Mouth On Me!!!
It might have all started with Eddie Murphy's "Put the Boogie in your Butt". A song he put on the end of one of his comedy records. A joke song that alot of kids sang back in the day...adolescent humor, but hilarious at the time.
This song gets me hype. Banger
You guys need to watch Eddie Murphy’s 80’s movies: Beverly Hills cop trilogy and 48 hours with Nick Nolte. Others to note is: Vampire in Brooklyn and Coming to America.
Eddie and MJ were close friends, they did several collabs together,so that Eddie is abit inspired by MJs songs,is only natural. Seen Michael Jacksons "Remember The Time"? Several well known celebrities in that one.
Also check out: Eddie Murphy - Red Light ft. Snoop Lion.
Please react to Rick James' music videos like "Super Freak" and "Give it to me baby". His music was great and those videos are kind of funny to watch now. He had many hits back in the late 1970s to the 1980s and wrote songs for other artist like this song for Eddie Murphy. FYI his uncle, Melvin Franklin was one of the Temptations.
This song was a surprise for everyone..from my souvenir! ..and he was big at this time ..an instant 80s hit.
This song came about because he did a comedy skit parody of Michael Jackson. He did such a good job they had him record a song and this is what came about.
If you haven't heard Rick James yet you should check out Super Freak and then you should listen to MC Hammer's Can't Touch This.
Eddie has a lot of songs...Not just one song...He even has a song with Michael Jackson and Snoop...You both need to go down his rabbit hole and listen to a lot of his songs...You will like them...Another early days song by Eddie is " Put Your Mouth On Me ".
He did a song with Michael Jackson lol... called Whats up with you...lol... crazy... Great reaction... This was back when all actors thought they could sing ugh... Patrick Swayze, Don Johnson...Eddie...ugh...
I remember first time I heard about this song I was like "... he's a singer?"
I second the vote for Eddie Murphy - Raw. I've seen it a dozen times and still laugh my ass off. Eddie has another song that's pretty funny - Boogie in Your Butt. It's got more of a James Brown influence to it.
There are a couple of more famous actors that has made their song.. That you wouldnt expect. Also from the 80's I think. Just cant remember now.
You should react to Rick James "Superfreak".
Rick James: Give It To Me Baby and Super Freak. Amazing songs.
as a child of the 80s it was hard to take this song seriously lol but I couldn't deny it sounded good at the same time. It was very confusing LOL
Lol I have to laugh when people say a sound sounds like MJ… it was the 80s. It was the sound of the time. No disrespect to MJ, he was great. But this was pop of the 80s.
And yes we did party all the time ☺️😆😉
The guys wanted the girl who partied all the time and the girls wanted to be the girl the guys chased. We were young wild and free. Such an interesting time to be young. We mostly didn’t actually sleep around, we all took care of each other. You could get shit faced and trust the people around you to be good.
Eddie Murphy was so huge in the 80s. His Beverly Hills Cop movie was something we lived for. I can still hear his laugh, he was pure epic in his own right.
80's anthem to!
Well you know why it was a hit.. Rick James wrote it & did back up vocals& let's not forget Eddie Murphy was a Humongous star.
Before "She belong to the streets", there was "Party all the time" 🤣🤣🤣
speaking of Michael jackson , he was really great friends with rick james who was in this video and michael suggested he do this song with eddie
i watched this video of party all the time high as hell and it was the funniest shit i've ever heard . eddie also did a song with michael jackson
He has another more recent one with snoop dog called ‘red light’
Wazzupwitu!!!... 😆🤣
I remember when this album came out, he actually had a few good songs on it, this one with rick james then he had one with stevie wonder
Eddy murphy even has Reggae songs he did with snoop ; if you are interested they are called "Red Light" and "Oh Jah Jah" ; they are seriously vibes and worth checking out ; Eddy spits real facts on "Red Light" ; Definitely should react to these !!!!!
Great spot for the plaque your will need a bigger one when you guys hit a million
He would impersonate Rick James on SNL. So, Rick James wrote this for him.
Murphy was probably the biggest and best stand up, ever. he just stopped. if he decided to do stand up now, he would again, be the best.
Wow! Talk about blast from the past!! I have not heard this song in years!!! Needless to say...Eddie won the bet! lol As far as I know...its the only song he ever did commercially! lol They were just having fun with it!
I
Love him saying… you ain’t got no ice cream!! Hahaha he’s the best! ❤️Tennessee
In the 80's.. after this song came out... I would hear this song ALL THE DAMN TIME!! It may have reached number 2 for only 3 weeks.. but this song was a smash hit for a lot longer than 3 weeks!! It played ALL THE TIME!... for a long time!! LMAO
Check out Eddie Murphy- “Oh Jah Jah” and “ red light feat. Snoop “ 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Also Put Your Mouth On Me
this is how real music was back in those day..
fun and stress free
I forgot to suggest this in my previous comment 5 months ago,but here is Eddie and MJs official hit song together: [HD] Whatzupwitu - Eddie Murphy ft. Michael Jackson.
Its a good vibed banger! Here is 3 more Eddie songs: Eddie Murphy - How Could It Be , Eddie Murphy "Oh Jah Jah" [OFFICIAL] & Eddie Murphy - I Was A King (Featuring Shabba Ranks)
You should check out "Red Light" by Eddie Murphy with Snoop Dogg or "Oh Jah Jah". Those are probably his most recent tracks.
RED LIGHT WILL GIVE YOU A WHOLE DIFFERENT VIBE,
Y'all better get on some Rick James!
when this songs come on in the club back in those days was madness.
lol you should react to Eddie Murphy RAW... 😂
I loved this song as a kid didn't lean it was Eddie till I was 20
Do Darling Nikki by Prince.
Hear no evil see no evil. Great movie you should watch. Not even for reaction, just chill watch a classic 80s comedy with Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder.
Haha glad u guys like da song!!😁
RICK JAMES
=hard to get = =ghetto life =
= cold blooded =
He has a song with MICHEAL JACKSON, check it out!! 'WHAT'S UP WITH YOU'
Great song 👂🏾🔥
Jamie Foxx was a comedian first also. He did stand-up, tv, movies and music.
If you want to watch Richard Pryor, watch....The toy or Moving, but can't forget Brewsters Millions.
Eddie Murphy got hella music, even recently lol. People always do this one because it was his first. He got songs with Snoop, Michael Jackson etc... he takes it seriously
Eddie has another song call put your mouth on me and he also did a song with Michael Jackson
Nice reaction! ✌ He made a song featuring MJ called Whatzupwithu, released in '93.
It’s early 1980’s MJ ruled the airwaves!
Eddie Murphy has another song worth checking out called Put Your Mouth On Me!
Eddie got lots of songs. His reggae is fire!
Classic
Do you think Eddie was going for a vocal sound similar to Michael Jackson? I do. There was another big hit back then called Somebody's Watching Me. By this guy called Rockwell, but he only Speaks the words. Then Michael's brother Jermaine Jackson sings the chorus, sounding identical to Michael :P
Eddie Murphy can sing. Check out the movie "Dream Girls", Murphy plays a singer in that movie....he's pretty darn good!
Need some reaction to Eddie Murphys stand ups in the 80s Delerious and Raw
