So weird story about those HK magazines. We had gotten a bunch of them at my unit at I think around 2008/9 time frame. We started using them and then for some reason we had to turn them back in and start using the old STANAGs again. I have no idea what the official reason is/was. None the less, they are great mags, definitely much heavier then the regular STANAGs but have solid anti-tilt followers and like everything German, over engineered. I've acquired about 8 over the years and I still run them.
I've got about 12 of those H&K AR mags. Solid construction, functional, a bit weighty. I always fall back to my Pmags. Thank you for posting and sharing your finds.
@@renaissancemarinetv3536 It's a weight issue. Those steel mags are just a bit hefty. I run Okay Industries, Brownells aluminum mags w/Magpul followers and base plates. Pmag M2 mags and the H&K mags. The Pmag and USGI mags when loaded weight about a pound. The HK mags are a solid and reliable design and construction. Just a bit pricey. I remember in 08-09 they were running about $70 ea. When I got this set of HK mags in 2016 they were just under $40 ea. Like you I survived the Clinton years and the AWB, so since 04 when the AWB sunsetted I've collected a huge numbers of AR mags. However, I learned about the quality of construction and narrowed my focus on the listed mags that I get. As a project I got a bunch of used/surplused AR mags and refurbished, then cerekoted them FDE/TAN. BTW: I really do enjoy your content.

yeah, when my buddy told me he had a pile of them but gave them all away except for this one he had missed my heart skipped a beat.
They needed to cycle through a new "budget friendly" contract alternative, I guarantee it.
Good deal! Nice snag!
You can't go wrong with some good German engineering
Sweet finds!
Keep posting Marine
