I'm surprised that almost no makes 25 round magazines. I think they're the ideal size. Adequate capacity without getting in the way.

The brownells 25 rounder is almost as long as a normal 30 rounder isn’t it? Like within 1/2” or something?

Why would anybody buy a 25 round magazine when they’re only like a half inch shorter than a 30 round? Better question is why any company would spend the money to R&D that magazine when they already have the tooling to manufacture 30 round magazines that are already more popular?

20 round magazines are great! Competition shooters use them because they don't bump into the ground when prone shooting. Because Service Rifle and CMP competition rules require 20 round magazines (or 20 round SIZE magazines, even if blocked for less rounds) they are always in demand.
I use weighted 20 round "size" 5 round magazines for competition shooting. They drop out FAST for reloads during rapid fire stages. I also have a 20 round "size" single load device, called the "Bob Sled", for slow fire stages. It is actually just a feed trough with a follower that holds the bolt open after each shot. It allows the use of extra long seated match bullets of heavier weight for long range, slow fire stages.
For bench shooting for zeroing and such, I use a Colt 9 round short magazine which prevents interference with the bench.
Every AR owner needs some 20 round (or shorter) magazines.

Two things…1: I wish my straight body 20 rounders actually held 20 rounds….and 2: I would love to see a straight body 25 round mag that isn’t brownells overpriced mag…

Just to let you know. I’ve picked up the stainless steel 20 round Duramag & they operate 100% & full 20 rounds go in. I also picked up some of these aluminum mags but they are not straight, they’re like the Magpul 20 round mags. So they’re longer than the original.

Dude, Justus is a legend. Years ago, I had one of my duramags go bad, he was the rep I got ahold of, he took care of me and got my replacement and a spare shipped quick. Glad to see he’s still around keeping duramag great 🤙

Same here! I had a SS 30 round 556 mag with a dented feed lip. I bought it from a third party vendor online and it sat for months unopened. Not sure if it was dented during shipping by the vendor or what but Justus said no problem and has shipped me a new mag. Great customer service! Thanks Justus!!!

So buying some! Just converted my 11.5” pistol to a block 2 upper from DD with pinned KeyMo flash and a law folder. With the pistol brace ban I prepped for the worst and kept my eye out on Black Friday for good deals to not deal with the bs. Now I have a sub moa 16” rifle that I am putting a Vcog on (1-8 of course with 77grain reticle). She fits perfectly in my grey ghost apparition bag and now I’ve stumbled upon a project I literally can’t find anywhere on the internet. Everyone has their foldable ar platforms but no one has made a video on a super premium SPR backpack build that can handle anything from home defense to 600 yard competition shots. I’m the first y’all so I’ll make a video once Vcog is mine. She’s heavy as hell at 11lbs but the trade off is having a very quality and rugged system.

20's. For a home defender I know you want to outgun any Invaders 20s are hard to beat. If all you have time for is to put your gym shorts on and slip your Crocs on to go find out what went bump a 20 in the rifle in 20 in the hand you won't need any more than that. Besides your wife and girlfriend will both pick up your other two AR-15s and defend the hallway and the kids.

A major sacrifice to the aesthetic value (curving the iconic 20 round mag) for a minor increase in functionality maybe. I'm sure they're great products, but I don't buy 20 rounders for reasons far beyond looks and working good enough.
