JEEP Wrangler - Power Installed for Accessories in the Back

- Part 2 in this short video series of bringing power to the back of the Jeep for adding accessories. In this video I mount the Blue Sea Marine fuse block, the 100 amp circuit breaker and wire the connections to the battery. A final click of the switch tells me if it's all wired correctly. Part 3 will be wiring the accessories to the fuse block.

Does the Genesis positive have a breaker at the battery source? The breaker should be as close to the power source (battery in this case) as possible. Its ment to protect the wire if it shorts to the chassis or another wire. If you get a wear thru and that 6 gauge shorts to the body between that breaker in the back and the battery the wire can overheat and cause a fire. Otherwise good video sir.

Really like the idea of this and want to do something similar, but I have some questions.
Power wire at the battery Should be fused right off the battery? I didn’t see any fuse but saw on another comment where you said you have a 200A fused protection? Where is that located?

Why run ground all the way up to the battery instead of grounding to the frame back there?

Yeah. Main reason I started this. Going to have a small fridge for day trips.

Per the instructions on the blue sea marine fuse block you need a 100 amp breaker or fuse.
Why not just solder the connections which is easier and better
1) not easier, 2) never used in this application, doesn't make sense
