Short runway and don't forget the 5.5° glide slope! Both takeoff and landing is challenging
Short runway, confined airport because of the skyscrappers, small terminal, tight aprom, requiring special certified aircraft and pilot for the steep arrival and departure but still managed to be one of the busiest airport. Now that's impressive.

the a220-100 (cseries-100) is perfect for large capacity regional flights because of its 110-135 passenger capacity, outstanding fuel efficiency and 1,358 metre minimum runway length for short take-offs. Better than any other airbus in that category and significantly better than the Boeing 737 series.

LCY is getting more aircraft traffic.....old days the 146 was about the only jet using it due to short steep approaches.....:)
the airport is super busy every minute of the day. Was very cool spotting there and seeing how they have to move planes around with only limited gates, 1 taxiway and a runway that has to be back tracked :D

Wow, short take-off. I made a flight with Swiss on this Airport in March, you can check my video on my channel. Swiss perform launched take-off (parking brake set, full thrust, brake released), the power is just insane and it take off very fastly with a very high climbing rate (about 35°, perhaps more..)
This thing has a .335 thrust to weight ratio. Almost as good as the 757-200
I just came of flight from London City to Zürich on the Swiss A220-100. It was a fun climb out i can tell you ;)
