Eric’s stop smoking story

- Опубликовано: 14 авг 2024
- Eric Page describes his journey to stop smoking. Why he started, how he's tried to quit before, and how he finally gave up with the help of smoking cessation services in Brighton & Hove.
Giving up has immediate health benefits, no matter how long you’ve smoked for. It’s the single best thing you can do for your health.
Brighton & Hove City Council has teamed up with Switchboard, an LGBTQ organisation in the city, to ensure the community knows there is support available to help them quit.
The council’s e-cigarette friendly service offers free one to one support along with licensed stop smoking medications at the cost of a prescription.
More than 10,000 smokers have quit smoking in the last four years in Brighton & Hove.
More information on kicking the habit, and the support available, can be found at www.switchboard.org.uk/stop-smoking
Already 2 months cigarettes free
I have used electric cigarette for quitting
1st week 18 mg nicotine capsules
2nd week 12 mg nicotine capsules
3rd week 9 mg
4th week 2.5 mg nicotine capsules mixing with 0 mg nicotine capsules
week 5 only 0 mg nicotine capsules
I have even stopped electric cigarette
I think this is the best way for quitting
Because I have smoked for 16 years and tried many times to quit but never made it more than 2 days
But now I am feeling great better than what I have expected.
It all depends, man. There are a multitude of different ways to quit. The key to quitting is that you eventually reach a point where 1. you aren't smoking/vaping anything, and 2. you aren't consuming any nicotine at all, & finally 3. All habits around smoking have been thwarted. Once you accomplish steps 1-3 for 90 days, then congrats you're basically a non-smoker again!! Keep on going man!!
For me, I quit half a dozen times, til this time, where I went straight to the step 3 nicotine patch for a week, then stopped nicotine altogether. It hurt more, but it worked better for me to get off it and heal faster, which isn't the case for everyone. For me, it's like that for stimulants, but not downers.
@@psychedelicartistryI did step one patch one month. Step two about one month then step three about a week then went without
Wow it’s Eric Page from Balls of Steel!
Honest video, coming from a gay man myself, I’ve been smoking since I was 14 years old. 38 years old started my journey a few days ago. I’ve quit for years at a time, but maybe a year or two. I can empathize. I always thought it was glamorous, now I just feel disgusting. And for the better actually society makes smokers feel disgusting at least here in the United States and especially in Southern California.
Smoking in public is banned so I find myself in the back of parking lots and businesses like a leper. Hiding away as though I am ashamed as I am. I’m sick of crackheads hitting me up for cigarettes and smelling gross and feeling guilty. Congratulations, thank you for your story.
Thank you for your inspiration. I appreciate your calm positive demeaner. While smoking is dangerous, you give hope and not paranoia from being a prior smoker aswell
Very inspiring, wish there were more of these kind of videos.
I would love to have peer support! 23 days and I am nuts!
You've got this buddy, keep going!
How are you making it ?
Luckily, I guess, I had a good scare with my right lung that lasted several weeks where I cut my smoking down to almost zero. by the time I found out I was OK, I decided since I already had gone this far, why not quit. And I did. Actually at first the hardest part was that morning cig and coffee... I just stood there in the kitchen, drinking coffee, asking myself (without the cigarette), "Now what?" I showered and went to work. After a day or two I didn't have that feeling. But I will say, coffee was a big help.
Coffee a big help? Everyone i know says coffee is the worse thing because it goes with a cigarette
@@ciararespect4296 I can see both sides. Both coffee and cigarettes can give you dopamine boost. I found it. I have been drinking more coffee since I quit smoking. But I do love me coffee and a cigarette so I think that you just gotta deal with right for you.
Smoking is one of the main causes of preventable death worldwide. The Scriptures say: “God . . . gives to all people life and breath.” (Acts 17:24, 25) Since life is a gift from God, we should not do anything that would shorten our life, such as smoking.
Yea well why do we live near polluting factories drive polluting vehicles etc etc. I bet you either drive. Oe use public transport so that's hypocritical
Sugar kills the most people.
Thanks for sharing your story
Nice video. Thank you.
👏👏👏👏👏👏
The mindfulness book "30 Days to Quit Smoking" by Harper Daniels is good.
Really?.i am helpless to them
If mindfulness really worked Thai monks wouldn’t be struggling with cigs addiction smh
