Would I wear that solid gold Tudor? Hell yes! Would I buy one? F*** NO!!
“Get what you like, and don’t follow the herd” - spot on Fed; thanks for being real!
I really appreciate the shorter length of your videos. I am so over 25-minute videos about a single watch.
I’m 50/50. If it’s all new and has something interesting I don’t mind longer videos. If it’s a minor update then I’m with you, shorter is better.
Same here. I just don't have the time.
Either works for me. Whatever the video calls for.
apart from the Tudor oyster sub, heritage chrono couldn't care less for Tudor
looks like Rolex is pushing it's entry steel sports customers towards Tudor doors
Thanks for the video Federico.😊
The tudor in gold is nice but looks like the tudor in bronze,gasp..and in secondary market the tudor in gold with leather strap who cost 17000$ new is at only 10000$,so it wil be the same with this full gold, you buy it 32000 and in 1 year you could find it at 20000 or less....better buy a submariner full gold for 30000 in secondary market
Don’t worry Fed when I get the money I want a Reservoir GT Tour and a ChronoSwiss Open Gear ReSec Aurora, I like interesting pieces
Great video. I am waiting for Tudor to come up with their final version of black bay to put on my wrist . I am sure they have in their vault to be released in the coming years
I’m liking those Pierre Kunz watches on your site! Don’t see those too often.
Amen Fed!! The more you follow the common hyped watches, the more you’ll spend and the more bored and unhappy you’ll be about your choices.
Agreed
nice video;good point...follow your own path
Love the new Cartier Tortue models!
Tudor does nothing for me personally.
JLC and Cartier did great in W&W, Tudor topped Rolex, and the MSRP prices is going up while the market is going down. Thanks Fed for the video.
Cartier used a sellita 330 movement for a 9K watch. They 🗑
@@TheBrah808 yeah the GMT watch seems like a cash grab, I agree.
How quick did you sell the LF? 😀
I agree to a point sometimes you are point towards a rolex cuz it hold value and if you like to change watch but don't have a lot of money so you need to lean towards a watch the holds value better
Is this audio in mono?
Would love to hear Fed's opinions on the Leica watches.
“YOU GOTTA THINK FOR YOURSELF.” Now, that is mature advice. I saw a guy at the Masters wearing an RM. Was I thinking “Gee, I wish I was you?” No! I was thinking “You idiot; why the hell are you wearing an expensive watch around a crowd of 40,000 people?!”
Agreed.
The gold links on the Tudor gold bracelet is also hollowed out, so maybe not a good "value" anyway you look at it.
I have the Bubin Bube Cube which is there entry level 2 watch winder. Absolutely worth the 5K.
As soon as he gave his whole "you gotta think for yourself" speech, i gave this video a huge rhumbs up!
Another great video Fed! Maybe it’s just me, but looking closely at a Tudor under magnification - the finish is not so great.
Tudors QC is known to be horrendous
Unless you have a complicated to update perpetual calendar, watch winders are a waste of time. They add hours of use to your movement parts while the watch is not on your wrist. I would just place them in rotation and or just take them out once a month give them a wind and thats it. If you are not using it and it's not an heirloom, sell it and get one you will like to use.
There's something that feels odd to me about owning an automatic watch but not wearing it enough to keep it running, then buying another powered device to wear it for you. A bit like having a dog and paying for dog walker.
@@paulketchupwitheverything767 Agree completely
Your point about new collectors and hype was spot on... its taken me my entire 4 years in the hobby to be able to feel free from hype. I'm bored of Speedies, most Rolex and similar... I'm finally looking left field, at other brands, maybe even vintage, and realising that no....I don't NEED a Rolex...I don't need to spend money I could use on something absolutely stunning from a few years ago, that nobody is talking about...
My daily is an IWC Mark xvi.. now, is it less of a watch than an Explorer 39? To me - no... and the price was so good... its a plain choice but I love it... and next I'll probably look at vintage cartier, Omega, universal Geneve and Zenith... there is still so much to learn, but I feel that I've finally defeated the first boss in this watch game - the hype trends
I'm paraphrasing but I remember reading somewhere that a collector's journey starts with the obvious 'classics' (certain Rolex, Speedmasters etc), branches out to niche brands and vintage, and then ultimately ends back to those classics
@@melondoc that's interesting! We shall see eh... interesting journey so far
And not a cheap one
Hey FF, you’re doing a good job.
I want a datejust !!
I'm more of a vintage Rolex guy and while I kind of do like the BB54 and the new black BB41 on a jubilee, I've never warmed to the brand. I currently own one Tudor in my collection, a 90's Tudor Tiger chronograph 79280. Over the years I've toyed with adding 79090 to my colletion but would rather add the several more thousand for a Rolex 1680.
Tudor does not need to make production on the solid gold small, as it will be a small amount of people buying this. One other RUclipsr had this correct- it is being used to increase other Tudor versions MSRP. customers will see a $7000 stainless version that they just jacked up by $1000 as a “bargain”
You look healthy... haven't seen this chan. in a long time. Cheers
A real shame that Cartier didn’t stick with the original movement in the monopoussior re-release.
Takes the shine off what would have otherwise been the best release at W&W for me.
He's right though, I love the Sub but man everyone seems to have one nowadays.
I’m a huge Tudor fan but I don’t know what they were thinking with that one
you don't have any left channel audio in this video
after the intro yeah. *edit* actually I get sound from the left channel but it's quieter.
@@vonkruel Ditto. Pulled my right headphone off to check, and left channel is a whisper.
Sly attempt to appeal to the Right ?
Or Tudor hacked his RUclips feed .
Fed will not be silenced 😂
That gold Tudor will be a nice stealth wealth pickup in 10 years.
The biggest issue within watches is this constant fear of the item loosing money - there’s too many RUclipsrs banging on about Rolex and you’ll get your money back - like that’s the most important thing to watches -the entire time however these people are leasing vehicles and renting houses and throwing money away etc . Not enough people realise a Rolex isn’t the best all and end all of watches - because these people are exactly like you said - just a herd mentality and too gullible to go and look up other brands
The black one was a 6 month production
Golden Tudor makes all the sense in the world. Its their move going for Omega.
I doubt even Tudor expect anyone to actually buy that Black Bay - it’s getting a decent amount of attention so it’s working as a marketing tool. I’d also be surprised if there wasn’t some accounting reason for quantities of gold to be sat on Tudor’s book 👀
Fed is da Andrew Zimmern of watches
Grey dealers are gonna avoid the solid gold Tudor at all costs, even on a leather strap the watch was unsellable.
If it's my money I'd rather buy the bronze tutor. If it's your money and you gave me the watch then sure I'd own the gold tudor. However, I consider all solid gold watches to be very tacky.
Tudor? No way haha
All gold tudor is cool Because it doesn't make sense.
The Rolex Submariner is popular for a reason. It's the best watch in the world hands down. And why is it only bad to like popular watches? People don't scoff at people for liking popular foods like pizza or fashions like short jean shorts.
Bold words, Rolex needs to hire you.
While any Submariner is objectively not the 'best watch in the world', I agree with your main point that someone can be fully informed about watches and still like and enjoy Rolex on its own merits.
"Please do not DM me I do NOT check them" 😂 thats every IG model these days.
Even though my smile dial BB (no dive bezel) has the shield, I think it's a tad slimmer than the in house version. I love it. Don't know why anyone would buy any gold sports watch, but then I also think Rolex is just a douche bags Tudor.
Richard Mille = vastly overpriced ugly watches.
I've finally figured out that watches appeal to me on an emotional level, but all you see are dollar signs.
Way to be a dick, Tony.
"Get what you like." - Fed in THIS video
Hi Federico, that line…cheapest one in the market is not a good sales pitch…people who buys watches they don’t care about the price only but more quality or condition of the watch. Lastly, I would pick a BB58 solid gold over a Cartier Mono any day…Cartier is too feminine design.
Strong disagreement. Especially for second hand dealers that notoriously mark up prices to unreasonable levels
Horrible Take. Especially when it’s his “tag line” or “slogan”. It’s what they do. And they’ve been in business 10+ years. He’s been in the business for about 20 years. How you gonna tell him what a good pitch is ?
If you wore a patek in the uk you would be robbed on the street unfortunately
A full gold Tudor doesn't make sense. ..Really? You sure about that? I think few people will buy this watch and it be will quickly discontinued. As the years pass the watch will quietly go up in value. Then, years from now everyone will be trying to get a hold of this now vintage watch. Tudor will re-release the watch and everyone will buy them. I think this is Tudor's plan.
Not that many people care about Tudor like you think. People want Rolex. Look at sales last year. That should tell you a lot.
I can buy a Lange Saxonia for less than that Tudor….no it makes no sense
Tudor drops 40-60% as soon as it leaves the AD. It’ll be like buying a gold Breitling. Now if you love it who cares. Otherwise wait and get it on the secondary market.
@@RobertTaylor-ub6hv You missed the point of my comment.
It’s of course entirely subjective but most will find this gaudy and tacky. I’m sure it’ll be liked by saudis, russian oligarchs, south american drug lords and some rappers…
(And possibly some insecure nouveaux riches) Sorry to be mean.
The tudor eta black bay is thinner than the in-house as well
Tudor sucks. Just go Omega.
TUDOR IS TRASH 🗑️ 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Don't follow the vblogger bogger Bel ends.
Haha, he said “boobing”
