@RichardRunnar FACTS! The internet and social media have MADE THIS PHENOMENON WORSE. This generation now feel that they can have access to the unattainable or unsustainable. They see that "prize" online and are able to communicate in DMs and comments. But most times, our "prize" or "choices" don't really see us, how we live or our reality. If the see a pic of us its AI, or filters or altered in some way. And we become so entranced with the superficial communication, DMs, comments, etc. that we think we can attain that pinnacle of beauty that we see online. And then that becomes our expectation for what we can attract in real life. This is partly where the whole G4Y4PAY phenomenon comes from. And it's really sad because at this point IT'S MANIPULATION by the one that is considered to be the "prize." They are monetizing and capitalizing off of lonely, dejected, depressed and jaded g4y males that have low self esteem and poor socialization skills. Dallas Flashman Wade comes to mind.
Melvon I totally agree. I decided to be single over 2 decades ago. I'm free to do what I want when I want and do not have answer to anyone. I'm a peaceful person and drama free. I love being single and I have good friends to hang with when I so desire. I'm living in Louisiana right now. The men I have run into here has baggage for days. I just smdh. They are really pathetic and have no game. If it were not for my parents getting sick I would have never moved back here. However I'm getting ready to move back to the west coast where I belong. The mentality here in Louisiana is so different vs the west coast. I can't deal with Louisiana's b.s. West coast here I come.
My perspective is different as an intersex trans man. Because honestly in my lived experience and opinion you need to consider both masculine and feminine perspectives/energy and experiences. We can learn from both men and women on relationships. I also think constantly pouring into someone who does pour back into you reciprocating effort , is not going to be a good set up. I am not expecting it to always be 50/50 but when you are starting out already having to go above and beyond while the other person is doing the bare minimum and/or when you express how you feel and nothing ever gets better or changes it will cause some resentment. I just feel that we all need to self reflect at our own behaviors , and how we are showing up in relationships. I am definitely listening more to your perspective, you and SaySoTV perspectives. I am learning a lot and it is changing my thought process.
Dating in this day and age is totally DEAD--most people are mentally disturbing to even date or be in relationship with---its best to just be single nowadays.

The sad truth of the matter is that as so many black males have and are growing up in single parent homes (70+% or more) they are growing up in a state of duress, absorbing the toxicity and toxic communication and relational patterns of not only their mother, but of all of their aunties, older sisters and other female relatives. They learn how to govern and be in their relationships they way the women he grew up under did
