@Rara Si you can have healthy carbs, carbs give you energy.
We should all opt for unrefined, complex carbs (vegetables, legumes) rather than processed, simple carbs which have very little nutritional value and just serve you a sugar fix then make you feel tired shortly after. We all need carbs but I think some people believe that means integrating high sugar foods like bread into their daily meals which isn't going to help you achieve your goals. When looking at carbs it's best to go for ones that are naturally low on the glycemic index which basically just means lower in sugar. For instance aubergine instead of potato is a great substitute.
Not excessive
This is definitely a healthy way of living - no fad diet/ no eat this eat that. It’s a real way of healthy living. Thank you! Definitely putting this into perspective after years of trying to “eat a certain way” thank you. Forever greatful!

I found you when I was 13; turning 14 in a month, I took what you said and I went about it in the wrong way. I began restricting calories, carbs, protein: all my necessary macros. I slept all day, I couldn’t use the bathroom, I was working out and fainting. To put in short, I destroyed my body. I’m now 14 and I’m ready to go plant-based. I’m learning to love what my momma gave me, but not just love, but also appreciate and take care of it. I went from working out every day and hating everything I did, while restricting food and hating everything I ate. Now, I workout 3 times a week and sometimes I only stretch! I learned that the best way to change your lifestyle, is to change the state of your mindset. Like you said “you can’t hate yourself into being healthy.” The only way to become healthy is to love yourself so much, you want to appreciate, fuel, and keep your body alive and healthy for as long as possible.

I'm a big believer in smaller meals spread out over the day. Even at a calorie surplus, your body just feels better.

Ah thank you so much!🥰 if I’m being totally honest I’ve never had issues sleeping which I’m grateful for, so I can’t speak from experience but it’s well documented that making changes towards a healthier lifestyle eg. Diet and exercise helps with sleep xxxxx

i feel sometimes like i have to do like a 40 minute workout even after i’ve had a really busy day and my body is exhausted, i would usually force myself to workout and it wouldn’t be enjoyable at all, so after watching this video it’s nice to know that you should listen to your body and do excersise to enjoy it
You can make oats in your rice maker! Same way you’d do rice (add oats, add water, turn on). Leave banana (or berries and whatever other adds) on the side in your bowl, mash a little, put cooked oats on top and mix. The hot oats warm up the fruit/condiments. Easy peasy.
1 thing that has changed my life for good is mindful eating. I saw it mentioned in several articles about Rebel Wilson and it's so true! Turn off tv/tablet/phone while you are eating, concentrate on food, and focus on flavours. I can recognise when I am almost full and stop at the right time, without stuffing my tummy and feel bad.
Omg this video has really helped me, I have felt literally like im a 40 year old woman on the brink of an ed,between macros and extreme diets. I cant take any more protein powder! I feel mentally freerer. I've done vegan but felt really hungry unfortunately
I’ve found I eat way bigger portions and more often now I’m vegan, so if you’re feeling hungry - eat!! :)

@@isabellapatini actually no haha I just threw some Ingredients I like in there. For example the chickpeas: I took some chickpeas, cherry tomatoes and black beans (I had them already) also some cumin, chili paste, granulated garlic, salt and pepper. And oil for the pan. I thought about using some onions too but I didn’t had them. So if you would like to try this: heat up some oil in the pan. Then add the onions and brown them a little bit. Add the Spices and stir it a little bit and then the rest. Wait until the tomatoes are done, like really soft. If needed add some more spices. ☺️ (and i don‘t really used measure just add as much as you like too)

I had one quick question as a lover of lean meats, what is so different about plant protein vs protein from turkey or chicken?
Hey thank you so much!!🥰 in response to your question, it’s a personal preference, for me there’s the moral aspect but also lots of animal products are contaminated with all sorts of hormones and antibiotics so it’s a choice I’ve made :) x

I love Dr. Michael Gregor's works! I've read both of the books you mentioned (and they are two separate ones): "How Not To Die" and "How Not To Diet," the former being about nutrition and the latter, having come out later, being about the way to accelerate weightloss via nutrition; there's also a How Not To Die cookbook that I really love!

What's your take on protein powders? Losing fat without losing muscle mass is quite tricky for me.

When you start eating a lot of healthy and nourishing food and workout, your bidy simply adjust itself from inside out. Weight loss (or gain) is just a plus along the way.
I'm trying to move to a diet that is like %85 plant based. I love meat and dairy, but I naturally don't find myself needing much of them often go feel satisfied. But I have tried cutting both out and even after 2 months the restriction lead to me obsessing over everything I wanted to eat but couldn't which only made me obsess over what I was eating. Which of course lead to a binge-shame-restrict cycle. So I'm hoping that just increasing how often I eat plant based but eating animal products occassionally (but only when I really want them) will help me balance my relationship with food.
I find it hard as well! I tried going almost fully plant based a few years ago but found I wasn’t doing it properly or getting enough nutrients. However, it taught me how much I like vegan/vegetarian meals. Now I find I want to incorporate more plant based meals into my diet a long with some of the meat I consume. I don’t eat much red meat and when I do, it’s not large amounts. Everything is a work in progress.
Finally I see real workout without glamour as it is. 👍👍👍👍❤️
