Sounds really silly & bit strange but try regularly writing down things you’re grateful to your body for (eg. Your health, ability to run/walk/swim, literally keep you alive!) - helps shift your mindset from focusing only on what it looks like to all the other amazing things it does for you! Should motivate you to fuel yourself with amazing food & move every day just because you can xxx
Journalling has helped me a lot. Eat nourishing food. Also meditating helps too

@@mickywest8814 yesssss. You need to drink enough water. Atleast eight glasses since it reduces your hunger so therefore you consume less

I relate to this so much, I am painfully insecure over my arms and being chunky, I have been going to the gym/working out for years now and since I started doing weights and eating to fuel my workouts I got so insecure about the muscle I had gained, breaking down, doing so much restriction, being super negative, but now I am learning to accept it, it’s not easy but hopefully I’ll get there. I am not one to comment on videos but I can't miss this one. Just wow, I commend you for being so open, transparent, and sharing your insecurities for all to see. I feel like in our society everything is superficial and surface level. It is beautiful to see humans being real and admitting we are not perfect and all have flaws, but that makes us special. Never judge a book by its cover! Our bodies are beautiful and our health is important. Eating for our body and working out for our mind! It truly helps especially on the journey of self-love. i was overweight once upon a time, tried lots of diets, slimming pills and teas, none of them worked, fortunately someone actually recommended agoge diet to me, never been happy with my weight loss journey

my mind feels like it’s split into two. one side is reasonable and logical, backed by scientific evidence. it argues that I need to eat more, stop over exercising, and heal my relationship with my body. it says I’m healthy, I’m normal, I don’t need to lose weight. the other side is toxic and rash, telling me I’m fat and disgusting and that I need to lose weight. it points out all of my flaws, and tells me I should starve, that I don’t deserve food, that I move too little.
it says that the scale is lying to me, that I weigh so much more than what I think.
TW: numbers.
my mind split into these two last summer, during the quarantine. in the beginning, the toxic side was the strongest. I lost 10 lbs in a month, eating 1200 kcal a day and exercising (mainly running) for 2 hours daily. I gained abs. then I was put into a boarding school, and suddenly, I had no privacy. I didn’t have the equipment or time to exercise anymore. I didn’t have control over what food was cooked, and I ate more because I didn’t want to worry people. perhaps it’s a blessing, perhaps a curse, but I am unable to throw up on demand, so I just ended up eating more calories.
to my shock, I didn’t gain any weight. I simply maintained. and this is when that reasonable side of my mind spoke up, loudly. it said, see? there’s no reason to be scared of food. enjoy these moments, your body needs the fuel. and so this continued for months.
but then, two months ago, something shifted, and the toxic side became louder again. a girl in my class lost immense amounts of weight in a very short time. she went from being normal weight to underweight. she lost her period, too. I knew even before she lost the weight that she was on the verge of developing disordered eating, in fact maybe she had already. and so when she did lose the weight, I encouraged her to open up to me about it. I talked to her, told her it was not safe. she trusts me. I told her about reverse dieting. I never told her what had happened to me, just months before, but maybe she guessed I had had a similar experience.
however, she continued to lose weight. the toxic side of my mind did something incredibly twisted. it took this as motivation. since the girl gave me her height and weight, this side of my mind took it as competition. and now I feel the constant need to lose more and more weight, to be skinnier than her. it’s so twisted, and I know it, but I can’t escape these thoughts. school is over now, and that girl is in another state. but I still think about this, about her.
I don’t want to diagnose myself with an eating disorder or anything of the sort. I’m not underweight. I still have my period. I still eat food, though I’ve restricted myself to less than 1,000 before. but I know something is wrong. I’m so, so tired of this constant war in my head. I want it to stop. I want it all to just go away. but I can’t open up to anyone in my life right now. either they won’t believe me or think I’m doing it for attention. I’m scared, and worried. I don’t know what to do, which is why I’m leaving this comment here.
firstly you can be any weight and have an eating disorder you don’t have to look physically ill to be ill. secondly if you feel you can’t escape these thoughts in your mind and overcome them please do see a doctor or a therapist to try and help you. eating 1000 calories a day it extremely unhealthy and will end up causing your body more harm then good. you are beautiful just the way you are and don’t need to be skinnier then this girl to prove it. she is obviously living a very unhealthy lifestyle and could have an ed therefore if your mind is making u this as motivation to get skinny yourself you need to speak to someone. remember you are always loved and needed so please get help before this becomes anything worse

@@fairytalearts810 if you don’t want to tell your parents then try speaking to another adult you feel comfortable enough with to open up. some schools have specific teachers to talk to about mental health or general problems to i know mine does but they will probably end up telling your parents if they have a serious concern. there are loads of websites out there that give advice on where to get help and how. also if you have a friend or sibling you’ve told all this too who can help you on bad days that’s always helpful but you’ll probably find the best advice on how to find help online or on ed recovery tiktoks, instas etc

I was in middle school when I wanted to get a nose job and then that’s when I had a whole page worth of insecurities that I actually would write down. My family read them and were shocked that they laughed because of how silly they all were. I’m still working on loving myself but when I get angry with how I look I self sabotage. I don’t even know where to start now because I’ve had the same habits my whole life
