You forgot the most disrespectful franchise. Andrew Jackson owned black ppl as slaves. Would you go to a hitlerville Jaguar game? It's the game thing.. CANCEL Jacksonville
The funniest part about Gene Smith's drafts is that if he did actually draft someone with talent on complete accident they ended up showcasing it somewhere else.
My mans always thought he was the smartest dude in the room. Had a really bad habit of drafting non power 5 conference players just to prove a point. I hated that dude.
Yeah.. He really didn't get his shot early enough. Don't think he would've been some HOF, but maybe the Jags win a Super Bowl. Tom Coughlin drafted him and loved him. Wanted him to take Brunell's spot. When Tom got fired the team drafted Byron Leftwich. Which further pushed him back since he wasn't *One of the new staffs GUYS* His numbers don't show how well he did on the field. Seemed to always make a play when they needed it.
Del Rio should have kept Brunell atleast 3 more seasons instead of falling into the trap the Minnesota Vikings set on them back in the 2003 draft when they let the draft clock expire. Everyone was expecting Leftwich to be selected before the Jaguars picked. The Ravens selected Terrell Suggs and the Jaguars selected Leftwich, which was viewed as a blessing at the time. It ended up being a monumental curse and set the Jaguars franchise back about 5 years. Leftwich was cut before the 2007 season after the final preseason game, and Garrard took over. Leftwich was signed by the Falcons as a starter but after just 2 games he was moved to the backup QB which is what he became the remainder of his career. Brunell went on to help lead the Redskins to the playoffs just 2 years after leaving Jacksonville, and Brunell won a playoff game in 2005. He would remain the starter in 2006, and then retire in 2007, only to return to the NFL in 2008 and would become a backup QB for the next 4 years.
Bro i played that dude in Madden 05 because Leftwich got hurt and was like: why wasn’t this dude the starter? Im no Jaguars fan, im just doing franchise mode as every team
Hey man as a Jackson ille native I appreciate your account of the jags history in this video. Made me just a little homesick since I have only been home to visit once where I saw the loss to Brady for the championship. We've actually had some amazing players over the years.
I'm an Atlanta Falcons fan, but I'm glad Jacksonville has a team. They fill a void in that part of the region that often gets ignored when it comes to pro sports. And football is king in the south, and JAX having a team makes a lot of sense.
What a wonderfully detailed video, done in a relatively short time. Literally sounds like this was written by an OG Jags fan like myself. You even brought up stuff I've forgotten about, like Richard Collier getting shot up. I think it was a miss to not mention Trevor being badly injured against the Bengals last year and literally never being the same after. Tried to play through it but he was hampered severely
One possible reason for the NFL to choose Jacksonville is that it already had it's own stadium for the Gator Bowl. Jim Kelly and Dan Marino retired by the Jags, John Elway and Terrell Davis are still haunted by their post season defeat to the Jags. David Garrard is legit one of the best Jags ever, and one of the nicest people ever. This was an awesome video thank you from a Jags fan.
I think their mascot deserves a better team. That dude, as a non-Jaguars fan, is phenomenal at his job and deserve to be lauded like the Colts one for instance. I think he's maybe not the most aesthetically pleasing mascot in sports, but the dude works hard and is a hoot. Shout outs to any mascot who puts in work honestly some of you are the reason why we love sports.
@@zackberry7882 I mean like, when you do the big events with the major mascot reps outside of football, the Colts one for some reason shows up there and I don't get it. Maybe its the belly thing? I'd way rather see the Jaguars one cause I never know what to expect of them.

That clip of the missed field goal by Morten Anderson was great. After that miss, we snuck into the playoffs. Beat Buffalo and then Denver. I went to the stadium to greet the team they opened it up after we beat Denver because the week before after upsetting Barfalo, fans jammed the airport. So the city said go to the stadium we will bring the team there...The plane banked on its flight in over the stadium and it was half full, about 35,000 fans. Been a fan since 1995, and will forever be a fan. I both loathe them and love them. If our poor little backwater team ever wins a SB, the reaction will be cathartic.
I’m a lifelong Atlanta resident and I would sacrifice decades of being a Falcons fan to move to the north Florida Atlantic coast to pull for these guys in a heartbeat. The Jags are at least interesting. The Falcons, save for the few years when Michael Vick played here, have NEVER been that.
They couldn’t find 25 better markets because there aren’t 25 better markets. North Florida has millions of people and produces a ton of highschool talent because this is football country. If the chiefs and packers work, why wouldn’t the jags? All they have to do is win
I've been a jaguars fan my whole life, I live in Seattle and have no connections to Jacksonville whatsoever . I love my team even though I've seen some heartbreaking seasons and losses. all I can say is...... DUUUUVVVVVAAALLL side note: MYLES JACK WASNT DOWN
The Jags have had some of the best uniforms in the league and some of the worst , their 2003-2007 ones were hella clean especially the all black , 2017 they had the best Uniforms in the league , that 2 color helmet 🔥🔥 their original 1995-96 were also really good looking, all the other ones have been terrible 😆
Damn I guess I've always been a low-key Jags fan. They were always tough on D and had lights out RBs. People would be shocked back in the day when I'd pick the Jags in Madden, but they were always just a fun team. Plus Fred Taylor was fucking filthy and a PROBLEM in Madden good god
They've had some of the greatest players of all time. The league will never allow the city of Jacksonville to trump the rest of the USA in football. No SB parades in this timeline.
I spelled Marcedes Lewis’ name wrong but Mercedes is cooler so it’s not an error imo

So it's one of those cases where he was a good GM..... just not for his team

ngl you should do this for all 32 teams tough venture tho so i understand good stuff tho
Duval till we die.
They couldn’t find 25 better markets because there aren’t 25 better markets. North Florida has millions of people and produces a ton of highschool talent because this is football country. If the chiefs and packers work, why wouldn’t the jags? All they have to do is win
Miles Jack wasnt down!!!😢
Those og unis need to comeback
We are all jaguars here in Jacksonville.
I can’t stand this editing and cartoonish pictures in the background with blurry photos coming to focus. Hurt my eyes.
They were always in the 90s ranking in Madden late 90s Early2000s for some reason. Fred Taylor, Jimmy Smits and Brunnel Were decent, especially Freddy
I was at that final Browns game! My first NFL game and we won
24:00 the Jaguars shut down Brady by playing man to man until they switched to zone.
The 2018 Jaguars would've made the playoffs but were decimated by injuries.
The most shocking thing is finding out Jacksonville is the most populated city in Florida
Myles Jack wasn’t down will go down as the worst if not the worst moment for the franchise. Defense was good enough to play in the Super Bowl.
Let’s all agree that we collectively hallucinated the 2017 Jacksonville Jaguars.
Surprised he didn't mention Matt Jones as far as characters
Welcome to Sax-onville Baby. I still have the shirt...
poor jags..
I've been a jaguars fan my whole life, I live in Seattle and have no connections to Jacksonville whatsoever . I love my team even though I've seen some heartbreaking seasons and losses. all I can say is...... DUUUUVVVVVAAALLL
side note: MYLES JACK WASNT DOWN
I sell a good bit of NFL clothing, and Jaguars stuff sells the best. It goes all over the place a lot on the West Coast.
1:34 that’s about $8.6 million in 2024🤧
he was called small school gene 15:00
Well done.
Jimmy smith was a legendary wr ❤
The Jags have had some of the best uniforms in the league and some of the worst , their 2003-2007 ones were hella clean especially the all black , 2017 they had the best Uniforms in the league , that 2 color helmet 🔥🔥 their original 1995-96 were also really good looking, all the other ones have been terrible 😆
Mark burnell underrated dude was nice salute the og jags him and Fred Taylor
1:15 fucking falcons never change
It is a joke that Jacksonville gets a nfl team but St. Louis doesn’t
