It cannot be understated how excited Houston was to have Democo Ryan’s as a coach. I think after a stint of duds it was such a breath of fresh air to not only give someone new a pt head coach chance but also he’s up there on the top 10 defensive players from the Texans too. Lots of people still remember watching him.

As a Texans fan, the rest of the NFL doesn’t realize the Butterfly Effect that 2013 season has on the Texans to this day. In retrospect, it led our abhorrently delusional, old owner Bob Warden McNair to take the HORRIBLE approach of trying to copy the Patriots. And there was always problems with the roster due to poor management by Rick Smith (Although his 1sts were always AMAZING except Kevin Johnson) and Buttchin having so much influence on draftees. We were always pretenders under Watson due to bad coaching, bad culture (lack of embracing identity), bad o-line, bad secondary, mediocre rb play. And in the most Houston fashion, Chiefs game… In retrospect, those few years of darkness after that made us fans numb to pain. But Hannah McNair, Nick Caserio, Demeco, and Cj and co. have saved us. This sudden turnaround feels like 2015 Astros season. So next time you make fun of a Texans fan, just know we’re pretty numb to insults on our team, but we will come in and surprise you by making you a laughingstock on any given sunday with or without CJ. I’m looking at you Jags and Titans fans 😂

That 2013 season was so fucking rough. So many close games that almost ended the losing streak. I was at the Raiders one and it’s still the only Texans game I’ve been to in person (tickets were cheap that year lol) but yeah man that season started so well with two back to back W’s, week one against the Chargers was a MNF comeback too (Chargers were up 28 to 14 going into the 4th quarter where the Texans scored 17 unanswered). That season ruined a lot of Texans fans and it’s why we always get skeptical when we start seeing successes lol

    Few suggestions:
    - Introduce the players as they are drafted/ joined the team instead of 3-4 years into career
    - slow down when going over additions/ loses
    - maybe add some clips of players or play callers talking

Shouts out to making this vid and breaking down what happened to the franchise I love! I became a fan in 2015 and was somewhat aware of the negatives but didn’t know ALL of it. In 2010 Schaub led the Texans to a 4TD comeback to force OT vs the Ravens.. then threw a pick 6 in his first pass attempt of OT. That was before his pick 6 skid officially started. In 2013 coach Kubiak had a heart attack jogging to the locker room at halftime during a primetime game and was replaced by Wade Phillips. This was during that 2-0, 0-14 season. And somewhere in Foster’s career in Houston he had an absolutely SICK back juke against the Ravens.

David Carr was a pretty good QB, he got hit so much because the Texans never protected him, and it shattered him. They took a huge risk/high reward gamble in the expansion draft trying to get boselli (sp?) and it failed. After him they just ignored OL help, the NFL even made a draft commercial mocking the Texans for ignoring OL.
Carr could’ve been good, but Hopkins was and they traded him for a payday loan.

I know Kubiak has a decent career as a coach and his SB win in 2016 really makes the Texans look bad, but I don't give him that much credit for that 2016 campaign and I think the Texans made the right move dropping him. He was extremely predictable with some of his playcalling, like he'd run that same bootleg play multiple times a game, for years. Peyton Manning really covered many of these deficiencies. He was also odd with some of the players he liked, like Shiloh Keo, who I'm pretty sure would not have had an NFL career otherwise.

The most shameful thing about the Texans is how they get no link with the old Oilers and that the 8th Wonder of the World, the AstroDome has sat next to the new generic stadium and has rotted away. Also wanna point out that David Carr got sacked so much cuz he would tap dance right into pass rushers, his Brother does the same thing.

Jj watt is is better in every statistical category then Aaron Donald and missed more games doing it. His 2014 season was also better than lewrance Taylor’s 1986 mvp season and didn’t need to be on coke and roids to do it like LT. Watt had the best prime of any defensive player ever if he didn’t have injury problems he woulda been the best ever in general

Bill obrian butt chin and Davis mills neck, man you went for the jugular 😂 the 2011-12 seasons were great and the getting Watson and being great again was hopeful. Then that came crashing down with him and obrian destroying everything. Let’s not forget about jack easterby 😠 now the Texans looks great. And right now they make a deep threat going into this year’s playoffs, on paper. That said, can’t wait for football to start because it’s tough watching the Astros right now 😅 go Texans.

You forgot to mention how bad our fans are. They hated the Andre pick, the Williams pick, the JJ pick. They hated Casserio they hated Kubiak when be had a heart attack and lost every game in 2013... it goes on and on. Most texans fans are just haters we have had great teams lose to legendary QBs like Brady, Manning and Mahomes.

If Schaub had not hurt his foot the Texans might have made the SB, they would have beaten Baltimore for sure in 2012.
