Can’t even say that now. The next five years are going to be cleaning up the garbage slop roster of overpaid over the hill veterans where young players with upside used to be. Right on cue. The day after this video the Jets blow a 14 point lead, 19 unanswered points, zero points in the second half, Rodgers throwing a pick six inside the Seahawks ten yard line, the closest they get to the endzone after that is the 29. I would say this wouldn't rank anywhere near the worst loss of all time for the Jets, but week after week of compounding losses is making an argument for the worst season in team history.

He's not the reason the Jets have been bad in 2024, though. If you look at it purely from a statisctical perspective the Jets have had their best QB play since at least Pennington with him. Turns out firing the head coach after five games typically isn't the best idea. Conceptually this is bad because it means that the person doing the firing was clueless in the offseason for keeping the firee employed, so why should I trust anything he's doing now? But it also just disrupts whatever culture you have, and leaves a vacuum of fingerpointing and dysfunction. Ragging on Rodgers is just weirdly fashionable presently, but he's way down my list of problems. Coaching > defense > receiver drops/kicking woes/blocking/Rodgers in whatever order you like.

I think the Cowboys just hit a perfect storm of players (thanks to Minnesota) and coaching that even Jerry couldn't screw it up. It seems that more and more we see owners who constantly hamstring their team because they think they know better. Here's the thing: if a team gets better after a player is traded, whether that be team morale or actual games, that demonstrates the fault was the player. If a team gets better after a coach is fired or a general manager is fired, that demonstrates the fault was management. When you have consistent failure at all levels, that shows it is ownership. And it's really that simple with the Jets: it's Woody Johnson. It was last year, it was this year, and will be next year. Until he sells the team, nothing will change.
Look at every "bad" team in recent memory (Jets, White Sox, Pirates, etc.) and the answer is always "bad ownership."

    2-3 With Saleh
    1-5 Since his firing
He was a good coach, just dealt a bad hand for the first few seasons. Since his departure the defense has been highly unpredictable. All this falls back on Woody Johnson. Worse owner in the NFL. The leverage that Aaron Rodgers was given was something that Tom Brady didn't even receive nor demand.

39 years old, prior locker room issues with morale, and he WASN'T playing his best before he went to the Jets. And you Jet fans thought this was a win-win move...? SMH. A lot of football fans saw this implode coming before he arrived in NY.

He was only concerned about winning MVP. Tells a lot about a person when a single person trophy was more important than a team trophy. Didn't help that he also spread false information during the pandemic and believes he's smarter than professionals who've spent their lives in a field of study. He did get his doctorate in pathology from Social Media University so he's smarter right? He's as crazy as self proclaimed mathematician Terrence Howard who believes 1x1=2.

The biggest mistake Jets fans made was thinking the bad QB play last season was entirely Wilson's fault. That deluded so many people into thinking they were just a QB away but the truth is, the WR room was vastly overrated, the oline was atrocious and the play calling was one of the worst in the league. Even if AR stayed healthy, it wouldn't have changed that much. This belief made them go all in this year and that was a huge mistake. The only bigger mistake was giving AR the keys to the ship and them letting him steer it right into a giant iceberg
