Overcrowding, stress, poor water quality, warmer water all make this parasite go out of control!
Common symptoms include fish scratching against everything, tiny red spots or yellow dusting, changes in slime coat, clamped fins or sore and ulcers(from scratching). Do not mistake with Ich/Ick.
Gill fluke symptoms are gasping at the surface, irritated gills and sloppy looking gills.
Treatment:
PraziPro PraziQuantel
Day 1 - remove carbon, perform 30% water change with vacuuming and add Prazi to the tank
Day 2 - add Prazi
Day 3 to 5 - do nothing
Day 6 and 7 - add Prazi
Day 8 - normal water change with vacuuming
Day 14 - normal water change, then add Prazi
Day 21 - normal water change, then add Prazi
Day 28 - normal water change, then add Prazi
Day 35 - normal water change, add carbon, treatment is complete
Potassium Permanganate Powder
DO NOT OVERDOSE
Remove carbon
3x a week maximum
1tsp =1000g 1/2tsp=500g 1/4tsp=250g of aquarium water
2-4 hours treatment, increase aeration in the aquarium.
Neutralize with 3% hydrogen peroxide: 20ml will neutralize 100 gallons aquarium volume.
No water change needed.
Acriflavine MS: 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons repeat during course of 1 month weekly. Kills all inverts
Treat daily after 25% to 50% water change. Adjust dose to match amount of changed water.
Formalin:20 drops of Formalin-MS per gallon. Will melt plants. DO NOT OVERDOSE
Every other day until control is achieved. After treatment complete, perform a 25% water change and replace carbon filtration.

Showed the treatment but not the symptoms
I just got new fish and a few seem to spit food out and im not sure if they are eating. I heard that advanced gill flukes can cause it. Is that true? I also have shrimp
Little Bastards. Sorry to hear about the outbreak. Just shows even somone with so much experience an knowledge is not safe . Should have treated the frontosa tank when u noticed it . Hope it all works out well for you an your fish.

The problem I initially associated to bad water then to one of the tanganyikans agressive thought he killed them then I thought was stress ... but then all my tanks :-: now I’m losing my mind since a week because it’s one of those unkillable strains of flukes. Hello 300$ of vet grade meds hehe ...
Bin down this road before . Hope u got a rich man looking after you an your fish bills. Think of the worse case scenario and then be happy when its not as bad. I learnt prevention is always best as cure never really works no matter what you use . The weak will always die and the strong survive in this sort of situation . As before . Hope it all works out well for you and your fish.

I used prazipro for a month and General cure for a month as well and my fish still have gill flukes should i just keep treating them? I am so tierd of these flukes about to give up and start all over..

It worked I dosed as recommended by op my guppy was gasping for air at the surface most of the time I was very worried I lost one fish that had the same symptoms and in about one week of treatment it healed.

Could you please explain the acriflavine dosage properly? I have tried fluke m, flubendazole and I live in the uk so I can not get a lot of the meds that I would have liked to try out. According to ur msg from 3yr ago- should i dose acriflavine 4 times the dosage?
Also how do u recommend to sanitise the tank? With part bleach part water?
Great video 🌹 i have question When i add potassium permanganate its turns from purple to brown color after 15 min is this normal or should i repeat the dose to keep it purple color for longer duration? Thanks in advance
Yes repeat or your tank got too much organics
I use potassium permanganate too.... These flukes grow on the insides of d glass and they are very stubborn
I don't see the symptoms you mentioned in my fish but the problem I have is 2-3 of my fish have blackish shady dirt like marks on certain parts of there body like the oscar has that on his fins and head and severum on his body and they are scratching against the decoration but not that much only like 2-3 times in a day they are eating normally and moving around freely.
So what do you think is the problem behind those dirt marks ?
I have glowlight tetras and they are sick. They have white indents in their head or small bumps growing under there skin. They have curved gills and white stuff peeking out but not moving and not fuzzy. They only look hurt on their head, the rest of their bodies are fine. A few stopped eating for a while and the smallest one went to the top of the tank for the night and died the next day, all of them before they died went to the top of the tank or hid and looked pale. My water conditions are good, my friend filtration is good everything in my tank is good. None of my other fish are showing symptoms. I would really really appreciate some help, this has been happening over a period of months. I have no idea what is is or what to do. I've tried treating with an all-in-one treatment but it hasn't worked. Please could you give me some help?

On your Prazipro treatment in the description, do you dose 1 tsp per 20g on day 1 and day 2? Give 2 full doses both days to start that treatment?

Ok my clown pleco dont have those symptoms listed for fish that have flukes..but theres wavy lil worm like things on my plecos body. What are those? I think its flukes so I dosed the tank with herbtana microbelift cuz it treats flukes besides ick and other external parasites. Is that ok? Cuz I have him in a planted tank with lots of other fish and invertebrates.

Lower aquarium population. Make more water changes. Have strong filter and feed quality food. Then if meds. Kusuri flukes M on ebay
I am going to try kusuri. How long did you treat it with Kusuri? I've been battling flukes for almost 6 months now.
I also have a frontosa tank, recently ive noticed them scratching on rocks. Their water parameters are all good. They seem healthy as far as swimming and eating with no visible white spots on them. Would you recommend treating for flukes? Thanks
As preventive measure. Only ones you're sure it's not water quality or heavy metals. Check water tds

+Valz Albo rarely ... they very small white and you can mistake them for maybe an injury and they normally come out more after you start the treatment. I wish I could show you the pictures I took of my discus post treatment. One was actually helping the others by bitting them Off and the other discus we’re leaning sideways to help him do it .
