American Graffiti was a time capsule into my youth. The music was amazing The cars, chrome with style. A much simpler time, when everyone got along. Drag racing, or the drive in movies every weekend, no emission bullshit and cruisin was a nightly thing. We actually had a sense of freedom back then. It's is a real shame, the youth of today, missed out on this amazing time, and just how happy we were.
When they line up for the drag race and Green Onions is playing, still gives me goose bumps. If your into music and Hot Rods, this is pure movie gold. Nice Video!
It is awesome that these two iconic cars still exist the same as they were in the movie. Two historic artifacts that damn near should be in the Smithsonian.(Hardcore movie buffs will know this but...the '55 Chevy driven by Harrison Ford aka "Bob Falfa" in American Graffiti is the same '55 from "Two Lane BlackTop").And to think...all of the cars from this great movie languished for years after filming unprotected and uncared for on the studio back lot unwanted.
The other one that gets my adrenaline firing is the race between the yellow 57 (Project X) and the Cobra in Hollywood Knights. The 57 sounds like it's possessed.
Now that lifetime is in the rearview mirror and we discover how beautiful it was and how little of that road is in front of us making us realise how lucky we have been to make this trip. PS. will remember your line till the end of my days.
This is the greatest hot rod movie ever, & that’s saying a lot. I have most of those old school flicks, & love them all. Green onions is by a landslide the greatest of all Saturday night Cruze jams. Any old school, real enthusiast knows that.
I always felt AG was less of a hot Rod movie, and more of movie version of Happy Days. Yes, there were some great cars, but there wasn’t really much about racing until the end. Hollywood Knights was pretty damn good and revolved more around cars and racing than AG. And Hot Rod (not that dumb ass movie with the idiot) a.k.a., Rebel of the Road is a great hidden gem. I actually like it better than AG, probably because of that damn Willys in it.

Booker T and the MGs released this song in in 1962 - - the movie American Graffiti was what is referred to as a coming of age type movie about that time period released in 1973. The interesting thing is Booker T and the MGs were 2 white guys and 2 black guys touring and playing together in the south when segregation was still in full swing and many hits by bands composed of white artists were covering black artist's blues, soul and rock music and getting credit for the music - - but in the end the music kicked the doors in and people enjoyed the music regardless of the person's race. I'm old school so I don't think today's music can compare to the 60s tunes and the music takes me back to fond remembrances
As this boss instrumental plays, I can envision John's deuce coupe and Bob's Chevy streaming down Paradise Road towards the spot where they would race.

Green onions came way before American Graffiti.. around 1960 my father built me a radio that after dark could pick up the wolf man.. and across the street from me every saturday there were a bunch of "older kids " that played music in the garage.. that was where I learned to play green onions.. and I think even then it was old . not sure the year it was released but long before the movie came out ... same era as telstar.. if you are old enough to remember that one. I believe the first band to release GR Onions was the sam wright group.

I got to speak to Wolfman Jack on his last broadcast day in San Diego, that was in 1988 or 89. I can honestly say I wish we could have those days back. RIP Wolfman, you gave us some great memories. We need more movies like American Graffiti to remind us there were good times without all the bullshit.

Great song and a greater video mix, thanks for the upload. It is a shame that these beautiful cars of this era are running out of time with all the health and safety rules forcing them off the road.
This track is great in its own right but what I love in the movie is how it is used near the end as the sun comes up. After all the straight up 50s rock and roll it kind of heralds that fact that the 60s were here and with it all the dramatic changes to America - both home and abroad - that were to come. American graffiti is a fantastic film - perhaps the best of it's type - and proof if needed that Lucas was more than just you-know-what.
Indeed, 1962 was the last gasp of that residual 1950s America feel. Kennedy would be gone by late 1963, Beatles were here a few months later...Vietnam heated up. It's like all America was tossed into a blender
1:40, not Milner's car, just someone's approximation by painting their '32 5-window yellow. The car at 1:45 is much closer to Milner's car, but I feel it might be a repop too. Fun Fact: The following year, "The Calfornia Kid" was released. In the scene where Vic Morrow first pulls over Martin Sheen and asks to look at the engine in his car, the engine shown is actually the one that was also used in Milner's Coupe the year before in American Grafitti, even though it was supposed to be a Flathead.
It’s 11pm on a Summer’s night. I'm driving down a country road in my 68 Camaro coming back from a car show looking out the window at the full moon in the sky. I’m chilling listening to this song on the radio. The vibe is good and I’m smiling away to myself. Today was a good day, not that anything significant happened but it’s the little things in life.
I met wolfman jack back in ' 70 ' s in Hamden Ct. He was a dee-jay at kc 101 , my brother was a dee-hay at Wplr in New Haven going by Fat jack , I must've been 10 or 11 years old at the time so when I seen The wolfman I was totally flabbergasted man here is a man I listened to on the radio and finally I meet him !!! 😲 WOW!!!
That 32 Coupe is truly the only car I've ever wanted own but could never afford to buy or build. One day I may be homeless, but I will own a yellow 32 Coupe modeled after this one!

I used to sing that song a lot. Basically it’s the only song I knew ALL the words to. Thanks
Rock and roll baby mercy six gimme some more ........... You got the one Wolfman jack 😁👍😍😎
Great song. and Even greater cars. Cool flic
at 1:40 Milner's car has a big block chevy engine - at 1:45 it has a small block chevy engine
The 60's were the greatest time of my life !!! Where is that time Machine ?
Them green onions hanging all over the studio precious thing, keep the vampires away you understand!,
Great movie, Great tune.
Wolf Man ... damn that cuts so deep.
just can't help but love this song.
😲 WOW!!!
Booker T Jones and the MG's were genius.
Music was so great and a bit mysterious back in the 50s & 60s , now days what is passed off as music absolutely sucks out loud .
That 32 Coupe is truly the only car I've ever wanted own but could never afford to buy or build. One day I may be homeless, but I will own a yellow 32 Coupe modeled after this one!
I lived my own American Graffiti...
I wasn't Kool, but I was Kool in my "pack".
But whatever happened to me, what, where did we all go and do. ?
Darn time, keeps a ticking. 🤕
We need to bring all this back....
