I think you'll be even more pleased to hear that they built these ships from scratch. The big ones, especially. Baratie, Going Merry, Garp's ship and even more. It's wild all the effort they went into building these ships. Probably intending to use them for the long term for upcoming seasons.

In my opinion this the best episode in the entire OPLA series. The casting for Zeff, Sanji, and Mihawk was simply perfect, it can’t get any better than that.

@@DGSnowolf Personally I thought Inaki was the weakest but it makes sense given his age since he’s the youngest, he was still great as Luffy and he can definitely improve in Season 2. Zoro imo was one of the better castings. I doubt they could’ve found a better actor than Mackenyu to play him since Mackenyu captures Zoro’s stoic nature and he actually knows how to do swordplay which translates well in LA. He was one of the main villains in one of yhe Rorouni Kenshin LA movies, and his father is Sonny Chiba so he definitely has tons of experience in acting especially compared to the others.

Not knowing about what comes later, Dracule is just needlessly extra. He's not a vampire despite how you'd think with his name, appearance (pale skin, yellow inhuman eyes, sleek black hair), superhuman strength, and aesthetic (long red and black coat, the cross around his neck, the coffin-shaped boat, etc.), this dude is just like that. He's built different, he's got an aesthetic, and he's committed to it.

@@MrDoot-hj2ir I actually had to look up one time to check if he was, because for a while I assumed he was. Because like, One Piece has fish-men, mermaids, giants, animal people, cyborgs, and so-on, vampires would not look out-of-place here, but there are just some characters where it's just never explained why they're like that so they're just defaulted to human. Like, Gecko Moria is just by default a human person despite looking like a muppet version of Satan and being like 20 feet tall.

Zoro challeneged Mihawk to a duel to the DEATH. When he lost, he was honor bound to let Mihawk kill him. But wounds to the back make it seem like he was running away, so he turned to face him.

I wasn't necessarily explaining it because they were confused but just sort of working through Zoro's logic and reasoning, which may not be immediately understandable to all. I've had people ask why Zoro just gives up on his dream and is basically committing suicide, to which I give the above response.

They Really gave my Boy Sanji Justice in this Live Action.

Sanji got the saucy rizz instead of the harassment rizz
Sanji is played by Taz Skylar & Zeff’s actor Craig Fairbrass actual work together before having a father son relationship so this was perfect casting, & so here are some Easter Eggs found in this Episode:
- With the Going Merry’s railing getting broken by cannon balls reminds me that we don’t have Johnny & Yosaku here to fix it because this is the point in the Manga / anime when they appear
- Garp uses his technique called Genkotsu Meteor / Meteor Fist where he throws a cannonball at an enemy ship while it looks like Luffy just came up with his Gum-Gum Balloon technique
- When entering the Baratie their outfits are from color spread: Luffy’s is from Ch.28, Usopp’s is from Volume 8 special, & Nami is wearing her outfit based on her Baratie arc & Ch.50 (minus the letters “WC”) which notice that the circles on her skirt are like a pocket
- Once they enter notice the paintings on the wall references Gaimon on the Island of Rare Animals, Sabaody, a Giant King Squid, a battle at sea = maybe the Edd War, a giant wave with faces = sea monkeys from Ch.304, a Sea Beasts from Fishman Island, Foolshout Island (Koala’s birthplace), Kyuka Island, & the ceiling art is maybe the All Blue or Fishman Island
- Sanji’s dish that he made is made of Elephant Bulefin Tuna which is the same dish from Sanji’s Cookbook & the fish that he buys in Lougetown from Sapi that originates from the South Blue, & if you look on the kitchen wall references species from the One Piece world like a wild boar, dinosaur, the panda shark, armored stone fish, tomahawk spiny lobster & dragon salmon (Shokugeki No Sanji)
- The man arguing with Fullbody is - “Cresent Moon” Gally which was Luffy’s first opponent in the Romance Dawn one-shot manga
- Sanji mentions Ithurzburger Stein a drink from Micqueot in the North Blue that Fullbody mentions when he ask for the wine from Sanji in the manga / anime, but then with the Straw Hats he mentions Umeshu a wine that Kureha drinks
- Luffy ordering milk is a reference to Ch.1 when after Shanks gave him milk he was mock for being a kid
- Koby just like Nami in Ep.1 mentions 77th Branch which is lead by Pudding Pudding
- Notice that on the cannon ball Krieg shoots at Mihawk has his Jolly Roger, & after his defeat you can see another named member behind him named Pearl “the Invincible Shield”
- The large drink that Usopp had notice it had Sea Kings painted on it
- During the Ending Credits you can see that they have added the Baratie located in the Sambas Region
Yeah the scene with zoro laying on the floor and raising his sword was a bit awkward for me, but every scene with sanji was so fucking good, man really nailed it.

Poor Sheera trying to watch the show and understand what is going on as a newbie with Lupa and Roshi laughing and joking the whole time. This is why she feels a lot more irritated towards the characters & the show according to me. Still love their reaction though.
Just got to go with different reactors for some shows. It's irritating sometimes, but you'll know their MO if you've watched any of their reactions. Hopefully, she can go back and do a re-watch to pick up what she missed while the clowning was going on.

Idk personally I really liked that "I'll never lose again" scene specifically because they actually let him show some damn emotion. The direction of Zoro's character overall is one of my few gripes with the series cause they made him far too broody it's almost comical. So when he actually broke down a bit I liked seeing it

Yeah I really appreciated that scene and it made me feel for him. The hand to the face seemed a bit awkward but I just assumed it was probably something he did in the manga/anime and they did it for the imagery. But I feel the show does that quite often🤷♂️

"I'll never be a waiter", except that's literally what Sanji's doing by staying to repay Zeff, instead of going to find the one piece. Which is what Zeff tries to get him to understand since the moment these 2 are introduced.
Fun Fact: The man who plays Red Leg Zeff is also the guy who voices Ghost in the old COD Modern Warfare 2. And if I'm nor mistaken, Gaz from COD 4.

Good reaction!!! This episode is a lot of people's favorite episode!! The gang is now officially together!! As far as the Zoro scene with him telling Luffy he won't loose again. I don't think it was a bad scene at all was it dramatic? Yes. But the show as a whole is a dramatic show I mean I felt emotion behind the scene as well. Taz Skylar is an absolute G and a Win for this project. My man learned Taekwondo from scratch and learned how to cook just for OP. He even cooked for the staff most of the time.
That slow-mo shot of the cannonball being cut in half looked so freaking goood. Great CGI effects!

I loved the Mihawk fight, they did a good job at making it still seem as serious as in the anime, while being just the necessary tad more realistic. Also this is the point where Zoro's time as one of the greatest anime characters ever started

I super disagree that the acting was bad in that final scene. I think the directing could be better at times but to me it felt real when Zoro said he will never lose again.

Man, Mihawk was badass. We already met two cross guild members in live and Mihawk killed it (and Zoro lol) also Sanji is introduced and I already love him so much, he’s not perverted and more like a charismatic playboy, which I really dig. His dynamic with Zeff is also really good. A great episode!! (Also is it bad that I replayed Drunk Usopp like 8 times lmao)
Zoro's actor is great when he doesn't speak a lot. He's got the cool brooding thing down, the fights, one liners. It's just the deep lines feel like he's reading a script. It's not the end of the world, the episode was still awesome.
I still wonder if it's the instructions he got from the director, since Mackenyu's acting from his other projects (especially his Japanese works) aren't like that. He's usually very expressive too, but with Zoro, since the direction seems to be him needing to be brooding and stoic... He couldn't express that too much? To me, it was a good adaptation from the scene in the manga/anime, but as they said, it's hard to really make it look not awkward and cringe in real life.

Amazing casting for Mihawk and Sanji both, and Don Krieg looked the part incredibly well.
Don Krieg had my favorite character design while we were in the East Blue. However, I kind of forgot about him while in the Grant Line with all the weird characters we encountered. I was surprised he got killed without even meeting the heroes but I guess they didn't have time for him.

Some of the Jokes that were made are so unnecessary and didn't even hit, they feel a bit too forced. Not hating at all by the way, I love their reacts, but some react actions in these one-piece ones aint hitting as much.
