    Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine? No! But I do it anyway, because it's sterile and I like the taste.

      Technically urine is only sterile inside the body once it's released into the air it will immediately grow bacteria. I'm sure you already know this and I'm also pretty damn sure your not drinking it either...atleast I hope not lol.

    Great video, I’m a fan of the Olight i1r, even this fénix pack some power but is to big, 500 lumens for 12 minutes? Emergency last more that 12 minutes, plus i didn’t see on the video the flash light next to keys, I bet together is to much for the pockets. For that reason a keep my Olight!!!!

    Key light flashlight conforms to the 1 is none, two is 1. It also is more likely to be with you, as your keys and phone are the two most likely items you will have (yes we should carry a knife, multitool, this and that). The cost, size, weight benefit makes sense to have one. Just an opinion.

    How does it compare size wise to a TIP? It seems expensive since I got my TIP SE 700 for $25 and it has 700 lumens. I know it has the battery gauge which is nice but doesn’t seem worth an extra $15.

    What sold me on the TINI 2 is the low light settings, 1, 15, and 65 lumens. That’s adequate in most no/low light situations. The button lockout and battery gauge are other great features.
    I attached my light to small multi-tools too! I put clips on the tools to attach the light, then I can detach the light and mouth it when both hands are needed. Fits great in the 5th or watch pocket!

      Those small OLED displays are very sensitive to ambient humidity. The display has a calendar life of 5-6 years, but it will last much less in a moisty or wet environment.
      The organic LEDs are killed almost immediately by oxygen, so there is a layer of epoxy sealing them. If water or moisture creeps under the epoxy, the display is fried. I would like to see a small LCD panel in those flashlights, but they are 10x the price of a monochrome OLED...

    Wow, what timing. After 6 months of carrying the Fenix E03R, it has broken. It's been a great light but I was looking at the Tini 2 as a replacement. Thanks for the review. I shall be ordering one soon!

    • @txng
      @txng 3 года назад

      Have you bought the Tiny 2? If yes how does it compare to the Fenix? I’m deciding between two.

    • @kilruf
      @kilruf 3 года назад +2

      @@txng I like it a lot (T2). It does feel cheaper than the Fenix though. The Fenix is a lot more robust. It's possible that I burnt my circuit board charging it off my Macbook Pro charger (maybe?). So now I use a much weaker charger to charge the T2.
      I carry mine in my front pocket along with a wallet pouch. The T2 accidently turns on easier in pocket than the Fenix due to the buttons. The Fenix button is more flush. To assist with this I just leave my T2 on demo mode. That way it turns off in 30 seconds automatically. If I know I'm gonna use the light for awhile then you simply just hold down both buttons for a second and it's in daily mode and the light will stay on until you turn it off.
      The annoyance I had with the Fenix was that I had to hold down the button for a second or two before it turned on. Not instantaneous like most flashlights. This kind of lead me to not using my Olights properly because I would hold down the on/off switch like I would the Fenix. So when I'd go to turn off my Olight, I'd accidently hold down the button like on the Fenix. That would make the flashlight cycle through the brightness levels.
      What I liked about the Fenix was the construction and the red led feature. And, I would trust it getting wet more than I would the T2. The T2 has the little lcd screen and a good high beam. I don't think really that you could go wrong with either one. Both are very much the same size. The Fenix is a hair longer but thinner. The T2 shorter but thicker. Pick the feature you like and run with it.
      Hope this helps.

      One or two lights on you permanently will make you a flashaholic.
      A normal person see the various light sources as part of the surrounding infrastructure, be it mobile or stationary. A flashaholic consider that a light source must be under his control, not part of civil infrastructure but part of himself. Other flashaholics are just scared of the dark...

    Just my opinion, but 95% of people carrying modern folders could get by with a SAK. Which would allow people to ditch their keychain multi tool. As for keychain lights they can be replaced with the flashlight app. Field notes can also be replaced by the smart phone. Of course this doesn’t apply to everyone, but definitely the majority.

    I don't care at keychain flashlights, or at least most of them. They generally promise lots of lumens for a naturally reduced runtime, or in any way require more constant recharges if used as main sources. In my opinion a good pocket light like the Microstream is the sweet-spot between larger and keychain flashlights.
