    Thank you so much for this! It has provided far more clarity than what I’ve been trying to acquire over time. After 8 years breastfeeding my children, I finally found something I’m passionate about. I want to assist families, especially those who lack access or have language barriers (Spanish/English) that complicate their nursing journeys. Now I know which pathway will work best for my situation, and look forward to learning more from this channel.

    Is there a time limit on when the health science courses are from? I took some of these in undergrad, but that was 2005-2008 😬

    Hello, thank you for this very informative video ! I wanted to know if I understood correctly. One way to get your clinicals hours that are required in order to sit for the IBCLC exam, is through a school like Lactation Education and you would need 300 hours in that scenario. Is this correct ?

    • @LactationEducationResources
      @LactationEducationResources  3 года назад

      Hi Gina! We at LER offer the necessary lactation specific education to complete Pathway 1 or 3, with our 90 hour course. You will still need to complete your clinical experience hours under mentorship of an IBCLC in addition to completing the program. If you have more questions about the pathways, our wonderful support team will be happy to help! You can reach them by email at support@lactationtraining.com or by calling (443) 203-8553. Best of luck on your journey!

    So the list from Pathway 2, those are schools that offer what exactly in regards to Lactation? Is it a Human lactation program? I think Im confused about that because I looked up the first school and searched Human Lactation and nothing came up so what exactly what I am looking for to even apply? Thank you.

    I am a dietitian, working for WIC. Half way through LER program. I did not take anatomy during my undergrad as it was not required, however I did take anatomy and physiology combined. I am wondering if this will meet the required anatomy course.

      Hi Marina! Only the IBLCE can speak for which courses they will accept. Unfortunately, they no longer review transcripts.
      What they will tell you is to compare the course descriptions of what you have taken to the course descriptions in their Health Science Education Guide. You can view that here: iblce.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/health-sciences-education-guide.pdf
      If you have further questions, feel free to contact our support team at support@lactationtraining.com. Best of luck on your journey!

    So these courses I need, I have to do that through college? I'm already enrolled in one, but can I add these classes while I'm in school so that I can become IBCLC?

    Just to be clear, can RNs and LPNs take pathway 2 if they have done the 95 hours with LER?

    • @LactationEducationResources
      @LactationEducationResources  9 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you for commenting. Pathway 2 is only for people who take a LEAARC recognized course through an accredited university. Currently, there are only 8 in the US. If you are a nurse, especially working in maternal child, pathway 1 is best for you :)

    Hello! Are there other programs that allow you to receive the 90 hours of lactation education other than the $900+ course on the lactation training website?

    • @LactationEducationResources
      @LactationEducationResources  3 года назад +2

      Hi, thanks for your message! That is our only course that will award the full 90 hours needed for certification. Other organizations may have their own options available. If cost is an obstacle, we do offer a payment plan for our 90 hour course: www.lactationtraining.com/installment-course. Best of luck on your journey!

    If I completed all of the requirements for any pathway but I have at least 1 course that's over 5 years old do I have to retake it?

    • @LactationEducationResources
      @LactationEducationResources  2 года назад

      The IBLCE requires that the clinical hours and the 95 hours of lactation training be obtained within the 5 years immediately before applying to sit for the IBLCE exam.
      You can also read about all of the requirements set by the IBLCE on their website www.IBLCE.org or contact them directly if you still have questions about testing or verifying your Pathway. Their email is IBLCE@IBLCE.org and their phone # is 703-560-7330.
      Best of luck on your journey!
