That is excellent stuff to know for a first-time parents or like in my case, a first-time aunt!! I'm going to have to check this out when I go over to visit the little angel ❤
Just watched it and tried it right away, baby fell asleep in literally 2, 3 mins. He really calmed down in a second. I didn't knew this trick with first child.
I had one kid that wanted to be held and swayed. The second hated being held or rocked in anyway. My second also required a "houdini" swaddle under her swaddler, because she would bust out and wake herself.
Very interesting. I was very in tune with my son and followed these strategies (no pacifier though) to put him to sleep intuitively. We also did elimination communication. He pretty much always blew up his diapers when I was about to change them once we got home from the hospital so that’s how we got started on that before I ever even knew about it. I started looking into it and reading up on it when we’d already been doing it for months. Also, I find the calmer I was and my presence was (and still is), the calmer my kids respond. Good sleep is so important for everyone. Best tip my midwife gave me: sleep when your baby sleeps.
@@NextLevelMeNow Elimination communication (EC) involves using timing, signals, cues, and intuition to know when babies need to “eliminate waste”. Instead of wearing diapers, parents and caregivers hold babies over the potty. Studies show that this method can help babies learn to use the potty at earlier stages.
When my daughter was a baby she spent alot of time with her great grandmother, who would put her to sleep by rubbing down her nose with one finger... she is now twenty years old and her boyfriend can still make her fall asleep by doing the same thing. @@walidhasni1830sounds like a sleep regression. You just need to have patience during this phase. There’s nothing you or the parents doing wrong. Baby is going through milestone leaps most likely, so they’re just trying to adjust to sleep patterns
That looks great and all but the best alternative is this book called “On Becoming baby wise” this book teaches you to teaches your baby to fall asleep on its own with out you doing the rocking, swing , food, etc., basically triggers, to fall asleep. I have 2 kids, 6 nieces and nephews that this has work for. My nieces and nephews are from two separate households, so basically three different families getting the same result from this book. It a short book which gives phenomenal results!
My mum said she did this to me as a baby, and I would always riggle and fight to get out of it. Now I have panick attacks if I get my feet trapped in the sheets or am restricted in any way, shape, or form🫤
My baby girls were so good when sleeping. Paying attention to babies then it gets easier. My daughter would sleep every two hours 😁 and I would know when she started touching her ear
Yeah, my daughter hated it to be swaddled… 🤷🏻♀️ Instead she ONLY slept on her stomach. Now she is 6 months old and sleeps through the night without any problems. And we don’t rock her into her sleep. Babys need to learn at some point how to find into sleep. Now I feed her, I give her a kiss and put her in her bed. Mostly she is still a bit awake; but after 10 minutes she is asleep. And most important is putting them to sleep every night at the exact same time so they can establish a rhythm.
All of that is so true and works absolutely when done in the right way and yes, "it's all about the timing". I too do the gentle stroking forehead, eyebrow and nose and it works wonders immediately but again, only and only when "the timing is rightly assessed" to try all of this to put the baby to sleep and help them stay asleep.
PARENTS, YOU ARE the experts for your babies because this person seemed too nervous and too stressed to help. Each baby is different so just through your own observation you’ll be able to figure out how to put your child to sleep.
She did indeed say "you parents are the expert of your baby so take what works and leave the rest .." honestly if even one stressed parent gets a single tip or idea on how to help their baby get some sleep then no harm done
I saw a YT vid of a dad who did that eye closing technique awhile back. It works! But he didn’t do all that rocking and swaddling, he just held the baby still and that munchkin was fast asleep after a few tries. It was cool to see.

I thought she would say something I didn't know already. Every parent knows about he swaddling. That's what they tell you at the hospital too. For me, the most useful tips came from the video/ book Happiest Baby on the Block.
Thanks for the great video :) The side lowering is an amazing tip. How long do you wait before placing them in the crib? My baby likes to feed before bed and has the tendency to have tummy issues so I hold him upright for 30 min before I even attempt to put him down. Otherwise he wakes up quickly due to a stomach ache (I don't always successfully burp him) or because he has spitup.
First time momma here. My son is a furnace (like his dad) so I do a half swaddle so he can put his arms up over his head. Like he’s sunning on the beach😅
Exactly what i was thinking. Shaken baby syndrome. A bit rough. Then saying put baby on the side to stay asleep but they cut the camera really quick. That baby didnt look like he was gonna stay sleep lol
@tamalicious shaken baby syndrome is actually a myth. It only happens with violent force. You would have to vigorously shake a baby with violence for that to happen. You should look into it, it’s quite interesting
@@raspberryjamz lol Maybe you should look it up on Google. Shaken baby syndrome is NOT a myth. You have to shake a baby violently for that to happen. I'm just saying it was a bit rough. I would not be that rough with my babies. Yes I do have children, 10 actually. Thanks for your concern
@tamalicious that’s literally exactly what I said. People think shaken baby syndrome happens when you just shake your baby a little like in the video. That’s the myth. Here’s the google definition since I did look it up for you & I have myself done prior research on it. It’s literally exactly what I said, but since you recommended I search it: “ MYTH: Shaken baby syndrome occurs after multiple episodes of violent shaking and abuse. FACT: Severe brain injury and death can be caused by a single violent episode of shaking. The most common reason for this violent shaking episode is caregiver frustration and anger over an infant's prolonged or inconsolable crying.” Did you read it? VIOLENT SHAKING. Which is exactly what I said. She is not violently shaking her baby here. The force needed for trauma to occur would have to be from intentional abuse. I’ve raised babies too, just because you popped out 10 doesn’t mean you’re a supreme being who knows all. I’m just here trying to let others know that shaken baby syndrome is RARE and that if a new parent shakes their baby a little it’s normal and not going to kill their child. No need for new parents to freak out over something that is likely to happen. But if they have PPD/PPP and feel rage stirring THEN they have to worry about shaken baby syndrome and should indeed get help. Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk.

@@mzstacystacks3168 I didn't nurse( only a couple of weeks) or do the cry out method. I just made sure they where full, dry and comfortable ( not too cold, not too hot and in there own comfy bed.)
@@mzstacystacks3168 I loved cosleeping and breast-feeding , so many people don’t realize that they are babies for such a short time. And before you know it they’re all grown. But I believe every family has to do what’s best for their family.
@@newgrandma979 thank you that makes me feel better. Some people say my kids are too attached to me because I was able to stay home with them once they were born so they are use to me 24/7 and put my social life on hold once I became a mommy. My mom always tells me they won’t be babies long so enjoy it
Not everyone can nurse or has enough milk supply
As a septuagenarian,my mum swaddled me and I did it with my babies along with the sounds and actions by this woman.Worked well.
I'm gonna try this on my cat. Thank you.
😂😂
Already tried it and let me tell you….it’s not gonna work. One of my furry balls even bit me when I attempted the eyebrow part, so now they just eat and zoom around the house until they feel like napping
Love how u say u are the expert for your baby!!
This makes me laugh because it’s all of the things my baby hates. She doesn’t like her face touched, doesn’t like shushed, hates being swaddled (tried all swaddling styles and types of swaddles). Not all babies will do well with these recommendations, and if you are an exception, just know you are not alone.
I would also hate it. Not everyone is same.😅
Same here. Swaddling, shushing, bouncing and face touching severely piss off my daughter 😅
Hey there I stay in Scotland and I’m so so greatful for your video my son was sleeping in 2 mins after going weeks on end refusing to sleep until 4.00 in the morning due to teething he’s 10 months old I have 4 children to he’s my youngest and iv been so so tired recently can’t thank you enough for these tips xx
Our baby pulls out an ak 47 when she sees us bringing out a swaddle
As a small/just starting content creator, I noticed she wasn't looking at the lens in the beginning. It really IS noticeable. Now I know. Thanks
This was super helpful! Helped me and baby. Thanks so much🙏🏼
Very interesting.
What is the elimination communication?
Works only when you have only one child.
Sleep when your baby sleeps…… until your baby doesn’t

The tip for not waking the baby worked for me. Thank you!!! It has been challenging trying keep my newborn asleep after putting her in the crib.
When my daughter was a baby she spent alot of time with her great grandmother, who would put her to sleep by rubbing down her nose with one finger... she is now twenty years old and her boyfriend can still make her fall asleep by doing the same thing. I really wish I knew this when she had bad insomnia between the ages of 14 and 16.
I love this. I randomly started doing this to my newborn bc I’ve always done it w my dogs. It worked! Lol.
yes I'm expert for my baby . I leared a lot of tips how to put my baby to sleep. Thank you very much!!
LOVED this❤️❤️❤️! You go momma🤗! I’m expecting my 4th so I feel like I got sleep patterns down, but I’m always eager to learn new techniques 🤗! Thanks for sharing 🙏🏿!
I guess your fourth will be a few months old now, i wish you good fortune and happiness, may god bless your family ❤️🙏
I'm here trying to learn how to help my sister with my niece while they're staying with us it hasn't been easy at all, she cries herself hysterically to sleep every night, yesterday was different, i layed down next to her and we kept playing and mumbling ( she's 5 months old) until she got en her side out her thumb in her mouht and started dosing off but kept coming back and dosing off repeatedly which to me felt weird, ut was like she really wanted to sleep but she couldn't, how did you deal with 4 babies ??
Love that series. Have the whole set up to teens.
Im definitely going to have to look into this!
It's not crying it out right?
@@goshine369 Exactly. Never forced my babies to "cry it out"
Thank you! I will read this :)
My daughter is 30 years old. I did this when she was a baby. It works, so does softly rubbing the neck and back. Never read a book on this.
WOW this is great info. Glad I came across it today. Keep up the good work all the new parents watching this.
My mum said she did this to me as a baby, and I would always riggle and fight to get out of it. Now I have panick attacks if I get my feet trapped in the sheets or am restricted in any way, shape, or form🫤
I'm from Pakistan and mom of three .. I did the same with my babies for several years ..and they sleep well by this way 😀👍👍👍
My baby girls were so good when sleeping. Paying attention to babies then it gets easier. My daughter would sleep every two hours 😁 and I would know when she started touching her ear
I always liked to make sure my swaddle was flat at the back for comfort... great video thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing this because it helps me get my grandbaby to sleep better and faster
I would leave it all...having reared three contented kids...that tight swaddling and bouncing the child around like that...please, poor baby.
Mine loved when I rub therefore head or eyebrows also
@@newgrandma979 I loved your comment because that’s what my mom did when I was a kid. She used to stroke my hairline upwards and it was so sooothing it quickly put me to sleep like magic. The thought of it brings a smile to my face 😌
@@c-light7624 so sweet! 🌸
It doesn’t work for all kids tho. As an infant/tod teacher who has literally studied this… I’m getting real tired of seeing blonde white women getting praise for doing stuff that takes no brain power and doesn’t work for all kids lmao
@@pillowtalk1925 what does it matter if they are blonde and white though??
The more they are tired, the less go to sleep. I'm a pediatrician and I completely agree.
Wow that's awesome thanks for sharing....
With the vib this mother is putting out; it is a wonder her kids sleep at all.
😂😂😂
there’s an “edge” in her voice, which is not relaxing.
Omg I made the mistake of thinking make my son tired and cried so a better sleep, that’s my mum saying too. Last night my baby had good sleep and I found he slept even better early in the morning! I found that there’s sth wrong and then I found this video proved that I was completely wrong! Thanks
I don’t have a baby but I will remember this in the future 😹😹

Thats a big baby!
I will try These tips on my 1 month old daughter.
I thought she would say something I didn't know already. Every parent knows about he swaddling. That's what they tell you at the hospital too. For me, the most useful tips came from the video/ book Happiest Baby on the Block.
Watching this makes me sleepyyy😴😴😴😂
I would use the rocking chair that worked for my daughter and my mother bad singing she would drop off lol
Tried and tested amd its a 👍👌 from me. My baby always gives me problems when its time to sleep and i did this in less than 2 minutes
Many parents are going to be thanking this woman I know that!!
Timing is everything!
Thanks for the great video :)
The side lowering is an amazing tip.
I was literally watching this and she said the thing about rubbing his eyebrows and it worked by the time the video was done🎉
Soooo I'm a mother and when I wanted my son to sleep I would just rub his nose of course gently. That always put him to sleep.
Me too💤😴
Awww
This is the cutest thing ever 😭😍

That would itch me lol
First time momma here. My son is a furnace (like his dad) so I do a half swaddle so he can put his arms up over his head. Like he’s sunning on the beach😅
To sum up...
1. Get coked up.
2. Wrap your baby in a straightjacket.
3. Jump around like a jack rabbit.
This was awesome. Some I knew some I did not… Excited to give these new things a try!
that moment when the topic is addressed to parents not moms only. Thank you!
Thanks for all this helpful and safe baby sleep advice!
The way she wasn’t holding the baby’s head was really bothering me
Same and I don’t know about bouncing a baby to that extent either.
The most common reason for this violent shaking episode is caregiver frustration and anger over an infant's prolonged or inconsolable crying.”
Did you read it?
It just worked with my baby, thanks for sharing
OMG, it worked out from the the first trie, even if my 2 weeks baby girl she's not asleep after I feed her and change her and I swaddle and put her in the crib and she stays calm until she sleeps by herself, I can sleep as well, thank you ❤️
And how about now?? How did you manage the next months until now? Still works? Mine is 3 months rn
@@marthaeileen hello Martha , omg I even forgot about , honestly , I remember I was so happy about discovering this practice but sometimes would work sometime ,sometimes no, when she was 3 month I discover she had silent reflux so maybe that was the factor that disturbed her sleep ,my girl she's almost a year in few days hahah , I remember that nothing was working when she was new-born, until she was 4/5 ,months she started sleeping the whole night , hang in there ,very soon will be better , my only advice regarding the sleep if I may ..
