The band members all studied at the State Music Academy and are classically trained, most of them have Masters Degrees. It's amazing how they have melded traditional Mongolian music with metal.
The Hu are Mongolia’s biggest cultural export. They were founded in 2016 in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, by four classically trained musicians. They combine traditional Mongolian chanting, throat singing and instruments with modern electric bass and guitar, to create something that is both metal and oddly hypnotizing. Their first videos posted on youtube in 2018 went globally viral, and today their videos collectively have almost 100x as many views as the entire population of Mongolia. They have done several international tours in both Europe and North America. Much of their music is about Mongolian history, traditions and culture. They sing about respecting their ancestors while also being modern. “Yuve Yuve Yu” is about people who mindlessly boast about their glorious past without doing anything to achieve greatness today. Personnel: Galbadrakh "Gala" Tsendbaatar - morin khuur (traditional horsehead fiddle); throat singing Nyamjantsan "Jaya" Galsanjamts - tumur hhuur (flute) tsuur (jew’s harp); throat singing Enkhsaikhan "Enkush" Batjargal - morin khuur; throat singing Temuulen "Temka" Naranbaatar - tovshuur (Mongolian lute); backing vocals They are joined by four additional musicians for live tours. This video came up on RUclips and I just clicked on it for curiousity - I wasn't sure what it was all about but after watching it I thought it was amazing and so different. I loved it and have now watched it many times. The Hu are a folk/rock/heavy metal Mongolian band formed in 2016. They use really cool Mongolian instruments, the 'throat singing', the song itself, it's just brilliant and the video itself is like watching a film. Well, it's got over 59m views so that says something. Basically it's a warrior song and they are saying don't mess with us and we won't mess with you!! They mention Ghengis Khan in the lyrics and the motorbikes are probably symbolic, a modern army rather than with horses. If you get a chance, watch it again with the subtitles on and I think you'll understand it better. Another fab song from them is Yuve Yuve Yu (Official Music Video) Channel - The Hu. This one has over 84m views and it's another great video with amazing scenery! I think some of it and maybe all of it was filmed in the Gobi Desert. The Hu also do a fantastic cover of Metallica's Sad But True song and there's another Metallica cover that just came out last month - Through the Never - wow, it's superb. Thanks so much for reacting to this guys, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Cheers.
You should check out their RUclips channel and watch the "HU's in the Kitchen" series. Gives you.a look at what the whole band is like. You'll love the videos. Several of them can really cook.
@@Venus-in-Bluejeans66 I've actually subscribed to their channel, it's great. I really enjoyed a video of Who We Are by Enkush where he talks about his horses etc. I think we know how important the horse is in Mongolian culture but it's really explained in this video and it's so interesting. Yes, I've watched some of the In the Kitchen series and that's great as well.
hi guys you have to check out the lyrics - it’s really scary. I love Dimash but I love the Hu too. please listen to the Hu with Lizzi Hale Woman song. You will appriciate that. Lave from Austria🇦🇹
Brilliant guys, just brilliant!, I've had the pleasure of seeing live shows by Queen, Sixto Rodriguez, Sabbath, Rolling Stones, Santana, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep and many others, and I came across Hu two weeks ago, and are slowly becoming my favourite new metal group!...now try the Isle of Man tt, pleez.....
It's Mongolian battle song. This song has very strong words. And the guy with the horse carries black banner. It's Mongolian war banner. :) Love this band.
There's 3 of you?! Lol! I'm subscribed to BroAction, always enjoy ur reactions. I'm a big Hu fan and was checking out who I wanted to see react to them, and there y'all were! Only with an extra! Lol! Glad to see u have another channel, I'll be joining this one right now. 👍😎
Forgot to mention this before. You said in the video, Patrick, that The HU's music could be in a video game. Well, The HU featured in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, in which the game's protagonist Cal Kestis listens to a song called Sugaan Essena (which means Black Thunder), written and performed by The HU. The language used is not Mongolian, it's a language created by the band that's unique to Star Wars. A special recording session video was made, it has over 13m views and in my opinion, this song is awesome - I love the way it builds up and it's great to see the band in the studio singing (love the throat singing!) and playing all these fabulous Mongolian instruments. Be great if you reacted to this one, guys, I'm sure you would love it! Here's a link to the video - ruclips.net/video/oJZfEh3EciU/видео.html

@@candacemay7187 Thank you! They're touring in the US at the moment apparently and I've been watching snippets on RUclips taken by people in the audience.
