This method indeed works !! It’s like magic. My shade vanda blooms like every five months and since I tried this method about a month ago and it’s spiking already in less than five months !! Very GREAT concept 👍🏽 . Highly recommend, if you don’t try as yet please do ASAP !!

Your orchids are so beautiful. I recently moved from Florida where I had a lot of orchids, to North Carolina where I am now dealing with a winter season which makes it difficult to grow orchids outside. Its a struggle but I’m trying to re-start my collection. I really miss Florida’s year round sunshine.

Hi, ur s.vandas are beautiful. I used the same method about 2yrs ago but have not replenished, hence they've not been blooming as per usual. Thanks for the reminder. I used tulle( mosquito netting )to make my sacs n they haven't disintegrated. Lovely collection

Hi Margaret, the roots of the sun vandas are not grown in cluster as the shade ones but rather aerial and therefore would defeat the purpose of the slow release fertilizer. Best to apply a liquid based fertilizer to the sun vandas. Thanks for watching!

Hi friend, thank you so much for tuning in. You can apply the regular 20-20-20 fertilizer with a bloom booster occasionally. With the application of the slow release fertilizer, my orchids are nourished each time i water, which is every other day, so I am assuming that you could apply the liquid fertilizer at least twice per week. Please remember to mix the solution very weak - 1/2 tsp per gallon of water. Cheers and happy growing🙌🌹

Your vandas are so many and they are all beautiful. How many times do u water them? Is it ok if the flowers get wet too during watering when the weather is too hot? Thanks.

Hi friend, you can always use material thats porous and will allow the water to seep through and fertilize your orchids. Also, please ensure that your vanda is exposed to some amount of sunlight as well.

Oh dear, really sorry you did that. If, in the future the roots get too tall, you can always make a slight knot with them. If the roots you cut did not grow secondary roots, then the plant should give you some fresh roots. It has taught me to learn from my mistakes and to understand and appreciate the culture even better. Once you apply the slow release fertilizer all u need to do is water the orchid. Hi Lorna, thanks for tuning in. I am assuming that you use a liquid solution to fertilize your dendrobiums. If yes, I think its ok for you to fertilize them while in bloom because my dendrobiums are always fertilized each time i water as i use the slow release fertilizer in the mesh baskets. Hi, these vandas are more suitable for hanging or mounting on trees or surfaces, based on the nature of their roots which absorb moisture from the atmosphere for survival. Thank you so much for watching.

I save banana peel, dry them, and place them on my orchids. I will try your method as your blooms are beautiful.
Banana peel provides nourishment as well, but because i have so many orchids, ot is more convenient to use the slow release.

Hello my precious TnT friend, yes you can use that method to fertilize your potted dendrobiums by placing the sack on top of the medium in the pot😉

Your vandas are so many and they are all beautiful. How many times do u water them? Is it ok if the flowers get wet too during watering when the weather is too hot? Thanks.
Hi Doris, thanks as always for tuning in. I try to water my vandas at least every day due to the hot climate where i live. I dont normally saturate the flowers, just the roots of the plant when watering. Thanks again for watching, cheers and God bless🤗🙏🥰

Hi Blossom can I used cheese cloth to tie the slow release fertilizer to my vanda. I have one that never bloom since I got it about 6yrs ago.
Hi friend, you can always use material thats porous and will allow the water to seep through and fertilize your orchids. Also, please ensure that your vanda is exposed to some amount of sunlight as well.

The slow release fertilizer is called plantacote that comes in both bloom booster and plant growth pluss.
A few years ago i cut my roots and they refuse to grow back, what can i do to get them back. Thanks.
Oh dear, really sorry you did that. If, in the future the roots get too tall, you can always make a slight knot with them. If the roots you cut did not grow secondary roots, then the plant should give you some fresh roots. What if you have mounted the vanda on a piece of wood, no basket, how would you use the slow release?

I just found your youtube today, and I am happy for a local contributor, as sometimes I think the conditions of the overseas individuals, are not always helpful to us. I have one vanda in basket, so I have already apply your method. I imagine that there might not be the need to use the bloom booster? just plain watering. Thank you so much. @@rosemariebrown3544 You are not alone Marcia. I have killed many orchids in the past but guess what? It has taught me to learn from my mistakes and to understand and appreciate the culture even better. Once you apply the slow release fertilizer all u need to do is water the orchid. Don't overdose them with additional fertilizer. I do hope you get some blooms soon. Keep safe and God bless😊🙏

Hi Lorna, thanks for tuning in. I am assuming that you use a liquid solution to fertilize your dendrobiums. If yes, I think its ok for you to fertilize them while in bloom because my dendrobiums are always fertilized each time i water as i use the slow release fertilizer in the mesh baskets. Hi, these vandas are more suitable for hanging or mounting on trees or surfaces, based on the nature of their roots which absorb moisture from the atmosphere for survival. Thank you so much for watching.
