People brag about this sub it does beat but ur really missing out with the zvx. Ive got an 18 on rp1500.1dm and it destroys my car and voltage stays at 13.5 or above

Michael Montoya actually I still have that sub and amp set up but now in a 2018 Cherokee and I got rid of that prefab enclosure had one built. You can see how it is now in my new video

kevin edwardsen I’ve no longer have that vehicle... now in a 18 Cherokee with properly built enclosure built by a good friend of mine M Martinez... not that pre fab q bomb enclosure. What you see and here is nothing to how it is now. Hits mid 140s at 46hz and that’s only at 956 watts clamped. Haven’t had it metered after the amp was tuned after that show. If I could post a picture I would post my IFO 1st Place Trophy with the numbers on it.
How is the RP series amp? Puts out the a true 1500wrms?

Can you show a vid for how you wired the sub to 1 ohm and how you ran it to the amp thank you
This is a very old video. But normally to wire one ohm, you will need a dual two ohm voice coil subwoofer. Do you wire positive to positive negative to negative on the terminals from the amp you are going to wire positive to the positive of one set or may I say coil and the negative to the negative of the other coil

Yeah that enclosure was the q-bomb 15” pre-fab that came with my ddx-15” I got rid of that and had a friend build one of like 150 that worked perfectly for that EVL. The q-bomb was like 3.86 cubes and tuned to 41 hz if I remember correctly. Too high for me the enclosure I had built was 3.6 cubes tuned to 32hz and was so much better

Actually two 12 inch EVL’s has slightly more cone area than one 15 so that meaning they will be a tad louder
Idk if you have ever had the Q class L7 15in D2 or not but I have and I love it and I’m about to buy another kicker 1800.1 to go with the L7 and I can have it wired to 1ohm pushing 1200rms all day and night. Not even with the gain half way. (On a 1200.1 kicker amp) can I continuously play a skar 15in that’s a evl and up on a rp1500.1? Like I can kicker ?
I was running a CAB 2K almost everyday on my EVL never an issue.

@@airon6864 the EVL will take more power then the rms daily with the proper amp, power output, proper power to the amp and of course is a cheaper sub.
@@Webb702 I agree I have my evl at 1ohm on a smart 3k and can play it for hours full tilt. The high temp voice coil can handle the heat with no stink.
Would a skar rp.2000.1d amp be too much power for this sub?
The RP2000.1 would do justice of course. As long as the power source to the amp is up to par. I’ve heard a lot about those that they are sensitive and tend to get stuck in protect.

To me the RP1500 is a good match and if you want more power get the CAB 2k if you can find one or get the CAB 22
That amp wouldn't play louder then the 1k it was replacing for me. It wasn't the sub's, maybe I just got a bad one
Yeah unfortunately due to impedance rise it only clamped like 787 watts. Now the C.A.B 2k I replaced it with did great.

That box was just the Q-Bomb side port enclosure. It’s just a prefab. The enclosure I had built that worked perfectly for it was 3.6 Cubes tuned at 32hz

Ryan Glenn that exact enclosure is a qbomb prefab it’s tuned high that’s why I had an enclosure built. The qbomb enclosure is 3.86 cubes unknown tuning just to high. I had one built 3.6 cubes at 32 he.

Have you DB meter it? What DB did you get up to with this system?
I did a 144.5 with that enclosure but when had an enclosure made. It went up to 145.2 then changed to the cab 2k it was at 145.7. All scores in pass side kick on music.

That was the enclosure that Skar gave you with the VVX 15 back then. It was s bass package. That was a q bomb pre-fab
What you think about running a skar evl 15 on the rp2000.1d?
Noah Juarez I believe it’s a great combination. Just be careful with those RP2000s they are very delicate. I’ve heard stories they go into protect and that’s it there done. That’s why I went with the C.A.B. 2K

@Michael P Hey what’s up. To answer your question yes the SK amps are better due to quality wise. The SK series of amplifiers are Korean boards and can take .5 ohm load “not suggested” but can all day. The RP series amplifiers are more so budget friendly Chinese boards. Can take 1 ohm all day nothing lower or it’s smoke 💨.. may get pretty warm but still good amps just watch out for the RP2000.1 so many stories about the amp like goes into protect easily and is stuck in protect. Anyway the big difference is Korean and Chinese. Korean is by far better quality better built and can take a beating. Chinese is okay puts out more then rated power just like the SK but just not as trustworthy. You can deal with the RP series just give them plenty of power keep an eye on the temperature. As for subwoofer wise I’d say cause you mentioned the evl. Go ahead 1 EVL D2 wires at 1 ohm to the sk1500 would be fine. In the proper enclosure it’s more then enough

How did it sound on the 800.1. That's what I have right now until I upgrsde to a 1500.1
It worked fine on the 800. Only difference was 1.2db gain.
@@Webb702 Super late reply, did you run into any overheating problems with the rp.800? looking into the same setup for my car without upgrading electrical, do not want to overdrive the amp and underpower the sub

James Bond these prefabs are built tough and it just happens to be spec for this specific sub.
I was referring to the port tuning. most are tuned pretty high and without the proper subsonic setting the voice coil can heat up really quick.
The enclosure is tuned at 36Hz
cool. Thats not bad. If you haven't already I would suggest setting your subsonic filter somewhere in the low to mid 30s. Just to save a headache from a burnt coil.

I have this same qbomb box and am upgrading to the skar evl 15d2 wired down to 1 ohm on a taramps Md 1200.1d. I’ve modified the box and internally extended the existing port in the qbomb box (which was 14 inches of port length) and I added another foot of mdf to the port to drop the tune of the box to a nice 33hz tune and am currently running a single skar SVR 15d2 wired to 1 ohm off of a Rockford Fosgate Prime R750.1D and it’s got some serious flex already. I can post a video of the SVR and the EVL in the same box modified if anyone would like to hear it I’m pretty proud of the sound I have achieved 😁 By the way this setup is fucking killer awesome demo man

That was just a q bomb prefab box. It’s tuned high. Got rid of it. Had one built. 3.6 cubes tuned 32 hz was the sweet spot when i built the enclosure

I have the sdr15d2 prefab enclosure and a rp800.1d right now and I had it now about 2 months and my sdr 15 is making a rattling sound when I play it at volume 25. depends on what type of bass I'm playing. sometimes it will stop and it plays like it suppose to but I'm thinking about just upgrading to the evl 15 instead. everybody keep saying to turn the gain down but the audio store set my gains on both my amps and tuned the head unit. so I don't know what it could be unless i haven't broke the sub in completely or that bitch is about to blow. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Doug Speight it also could be the enclosure. I had a qbomb enclosure it would make a noise certain bass frequencies until I had an enclosure built to spec never heard it again

I've moved on after that set up. But I did upgrade to the C.A.B 2k before the moving on.
For a 2019 durango, If I go with an evl 15 and an RP 2K, would I still need to get a bigger alternator?

@@357Franknitty Funny thing is I upgraded the whole vehicle. 2019 Cherokee comes with 180amp alternator and AGM batt. So. didn't have to upgrade. But i do suggest to upgrade power when over 2k. 2K you can. get away with a good AGM batt and decent alternator.

That was just in a pre-fab enclosure tuned at 41hz I believe. It has gotten better after I replaced with a properly built enclosure. It’s the power and the enclosure that counts

Ginco I can not find it on eBay or on Skar’s site. You can find the box on ebay but it’s tuned to 46hz. The package was purchased off of Skar’s page witch they no longer have that package up for grabs.

Tyree Evans yes it will. As long as it’s in the proper enclosure. Before the RP1500.1 I was running the RP800.1 and it still hit. The difference was the 800 scored a 140db in a q bomb enclosure. Now I have the evl in a custom enclosure 3.6 cubes at 32hz running the 1500.1. That is at 144.3db.

Tyree Evans you want to be around 30 to 32hz for the evl. Trust me linen is 32hz and plays all types of music very well. A plus is it will hit lower frequencies then that. Mine still slaps at 23hz.
