This year's "new annuals" individually planted in your hayracks was an excellent idea. Please continue to use the hayracks to feature the "new annuals" each year. God bless!
Hi Laura! Great video! Who edited this one?? If Ken, then he deserves a serious call out! All the inserted clips of these plants from the season of videos was a pleasure-it must have taken forever to edit. But we sure do appreciate it!!!!
I’d love to see a video of the flowers you grew from seed and a recap on their performance
Love this idea!!
I just love seeing Russel interact with Laura. He is such a sweetheart.
I love that Russell gets individual attention from his Mom. He's such a sweetie.
Love that kitty
I have a 12yr old orange tabby Hemingway named Baby Buddha I call him Baby 🥰 ive had since he was born bc his momma was my cat Mitzpaw 🐈 he was born in 2011. The extra toe is so neat. They are known to be the most loyal to their human (Laura obviously)😅and sweet cats. Russell reminds me of Baby so much 🐈
Thank you for including a picture of each flower with its named printed!😊 Beautiful colors ....God has a terrific paint brush. I am encoutaged to expand my geraniums. Who know so many varieties, single, double, etc? Oh you do! Thanks for sharing! 😁🌲
I absolutely love these videos! It's fun to plan for spring when it's 16° outside.
Love this video and your take on the 2024 PW plants. I've had health issues for the last two years and haven't been able to garden at all. My son has been doing the best he can to keep up on my house plants and he's done a marvelous job. I'm much better now and will be trying some of these plants this coming year 2024
Sending a prayer and positive thoughts on your road to recovery.
Merry Christmas!
Loved the hay rack experiment! Watching each plant just grow all on their own was so pretty!!
Oh, WOW, so many stunning gorgeous plants that do not require deadheading, I'm tired of being a slave to such, especially with some of the mini petunias I was constantly cleaning spent flowers! Will watch this video again and write down all my favorites!
Usually there is a lot of yellow in spring. Not so much in the summer with the exception of roses and dahlias. Yellow in the summer is a treat. 🌍☮️🌲
Sunflowers are a great option for yellow in the summer. There's also a beautiful yellow Cosmo that I'm starting from seed next year. They tend to bloom till first frost and they are
Oh yes. I forgot about sunflowers. Thank you. In the spring we have lots of bright yellows. 🌍☮️🌲
There’s daylilies, Rudbeckia, Begonia, Coreopsis, Snapdragons, Hibiscus and more!
I like to plant yellow Lantana. The brightness always makes me smile.
I love how your little tiger, Russell, walked right in front of the camera as you were talking about the Safari Dusk JamesBrittenia flower. Right on cue! 😂
Take a few days off this Christmas by allowing us to show our own Christmas decorations to everyone. Do something like the Greenhouse viewings from your followers. Let us show YOU how much we have been inspired.
Laura I have to say years ago you completely sold me on Proven Winners! Living in Northern Indiana humidity and heat can be torture on annuals but Proven Winner annuals are my best friend! 🌸
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day ❤️ 🎄
These videos are among my favorites as well! I always get excited and get my pen & paper out!! ✍🏼😀♥️
I ended up planting two different pink geraniums in my containers this spring after seeing yours, Laura. I ended up LOVING them! I will definitely be doing that again next year. Also, after your suggestion of wintering them over, I brought some of mine in and they are starting to ‘leaf drop’ as you say. I thought they were very unhappy with me. Now, I have more confidence that they’ll push through. 😅 Seeing all of the bouquets of flowers reminds me of why I am so in love with flower gardening. There is nothing more beautiful and miraculous than these gorgeous flowers!! 🌸 🎉 🌺 I envy what you get to do everyday and how much you know! You’re a GOAT! Garden Answer is a continual feast of inspiration!! ❤
I ended up drawn to them also. An unintended benefit? The Japanese beetles that ate them dropped dead!!
The leaf drop is normal. Just water once a week and they will make it thru. My geraniums bloom all winter inside.
I plant light pink geraniums at home & our cottage. We live in Michigan. I wintered over 17 geraniums, placing them in a South window. The leaves dropped a bit each month. Blossoms started in late March & continued til May outside planting. I've also taken cuttings to make more plants successfully.
❤❤❤
Make sure you aren’t overwatering, which can cause leaf drop. They like to dry out between waterings. They also want very bright light, so if they’re not getting that they might start to look a bit sad.
LOL, that is what I guessed before you said it! Thank you for all the garden inspiration and daily peaceful beginnings, blessings to you all! ❤
Absolutely gorgeous new plants
Always nice to have Laura review how the new plants did. Laura, you are the picture of health today, that shows how your experience was over the season!
Here in Western Kentucky I struggle with petunias, but I do love them ❤️
Solenia Apricot Begonia is AMAZING! We use it in the Finger Lakes Region of NY and it is a show stopper. The color is stunning, the blooms keep coming and we are impressed by it every single year!
I loved this video. It really gave me some great ideas!
Great video. Could you do a video of your favorite plant combinations for containers? I like to make a list for spring, so when I get in the garden centers I don’t get overwhelmed or buy haphazardly ( lol happens anyway when I see a pretty flower). 😊
Good morning. I love looking at all the flowers and making a plan as to what to plant next season. My eye keeps going to the beautiful red geraniums behind you. They were my dad's favorite flower. Every year my dad and a few of the other volunteer firefighters would go to the cemeteries and plant a red geranium on each firefighters grave. It was a beautiful tradition. Now, there is one planted on my dad's grave each year. Life goes on.❤
Anyone else already know what Laura was going to say her favorite is??… and in unison…Saffron Finch. 😂 perhaps my daily Garden Answer viewing is a little too much😂….wait what am I saying? One can never have too much Garden Answer!❤
Very informative and enjoyable. Thanks, from a first time visitor.
B love the plants I think they were beautiful colors gorgeous
Super bell redstone reminds me of a marigolds. I might try this in an area in my garden. 🪴🏡 Thanks for all the info, Laura. 😊
I’ve planted scaevola and begonias together, in containers or hanging baskets. They are a beautiful combination!
I love Russell!!
Ok. This has convinced me to stop buying generic brand petunias, but to invest and get Proven Winners petunias next year. I can't wait to bring some colour to my garden next year with all these beautiful options :)
TOTALLY worth it!
I have to agree. I went for the cheaper yellow petunias this past summer and they were so puny and underwhelming in my “drift” that it convinced me to spend the bigger bucks on proven winners.
Russell, that face when he is scratching his chin! Sooo cute!
Ken did a great job placing the flower in a pot right next to Laura as she was talking about it.
It is so helpful to hear your assessment of these varieties of flowers. Especially helpful is that you review qualities that I would never think to look for! Many thanks for taking the time to share the knowledge and experience that you have.
We don’t play where’s Waldo. We play where’s Russel! He makes an appearance somehow every video. 😂
It's awesome to be able to get the sneak preview for the following season! 🙂
I am excited to get my hands on some of the new annuals. I am so lucky to be near Creekside Nursery, Jenny always have the new variety available.
Looking forward to spring 24 !
Have you been to Williamsburg, VA at Christmas? They do the most spectacular fruit arrangements on their front doors! And I saw one online today that used artichokes along with apples and pineapples etc. but I thought about all of your artichokes that you grow and don’t eat! Check it out!
I have literally never seen a bug on a petunia. Very interesting.
You mentioned garden shows……in South Carolina, The Charleston Festival of open homes and gardens takes place March 14-April 14, 2024. We’ve been to many over the years (formerly sponsored by The Heritage Foundation) and they never disappoint.
If you stay in town, everything (tours, museums, shopping, excellent restaurants, etc.) is within walking distance. It also has a beautiful, scenic harbor.
(I think your mom would enjoy Charleston, too.)
The airport is only 15 minutes away by Uber, taxi.
I was referencing your Dec 3 video re garden shows.
Would be interesting if you could do a video about what colors of blooms look best with different colors of siding. For instance if you had a red brick house you might have to lean towards a more warm color palette.
I clicked LIKE after the first two sentences. I miss my annual flowers already. Cheers to Spring 2024 ! Superbloom Double Redstone totally over performed because "No one puts Baby in a corner" LOL
That was pretty funny😅
😂😂😂
Double red stone is my favorite on here. They’re just amazing. Love that yellow around the rim.
I started some geraniums from seed. Wish me luck. 1 is sprouting true leaves.
If I can do it then you, for sure, can do it! Enjoy!!! 🌸
My favourites were the white begonias you planted under the trees on west side with the box woods framing each bay. Absolutely stunning!💜
Ohh yes! Thank you so much for doing this video. And at this time of year where (zone4) we’re done til next year so the planning begins. So informative. Thank you for taking the time to do this ❤
Hey Laura! Would love to know what the white flowers are planted with the Bermuda Beach? Stunning!!
I grew pink geraniums from seed and put them in my garden beds and they performed beautifully. Another benefit is the rabbits hate them and leave them alone. I pulled them prior to frost and am overwintering. Will still also grow more from seed as it’s just so easy. Thank you Laura for this video. So helpful.
Thanks for giving us options instead of petunias and million bells. I miss the color but the bud worm effect is too work intensive in my area. Bidens and Angelona and verbena all produce so much vibrant color without maintenance and provide different growth habits that it’s always a winner. Thank you S.Jersey Shore Gardener 🪴
Just as you said the word “safari” here came the orange tiger!! (Russell 🥰)
I miss having in PEI canada. Am I crazy , I love all colours..
I love these videos! It helps me decide what I should try next spring in my pots and window box. Gotta love Russell, he seems like such a sweetheart!
All your gardens looked soo beautiful!! Such an array of colors and designs!! Gorgeous!!!
Wow love me some supertunias
Good Morning! 🎅 I am excited for the 2024 annuals! I am going to start my list for 2024!! I will keep these varieties in mind!😃🌸🪷🏵🌿
I really like these videos. I can plan for next year. Thank you
Thank you for sharing this video. I got alot of useful information. I will be planting double pink impatiens in my hayracks in the shade, and bubblegum petunias in the pots in the sun.
Perfect video this morning as we got a bit of snow in Eastern WA. GA, bright beautiful plant photos and a cup of coffee to start the morning.
Great video. Thank you for the update of your experience. ❤
I love the look back to summer and the lovely flowers. 💚💚💚
Looking forward to seeing new plants in the Spring. Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you for the recap! It was fun to see the hay rack flowers beginning to end all together.
Omg I’m a believer in supertunias now. I still have blooms in December. They’re just beautiful and grow so well! Love it! I prefer it in the ground rather than in containers though. I just loved them in the ground. I couldn’t keep them hydrated enough in containers.
I look forward to these videos each year
I bought some white geraniums this past summer and they were so beautiful. Because of you I decided to winter them over in my house infront of a bright south facing window and they've continued to bloom 😊🤍
Very appreciative of this info. Perhaps consider a short segment on your favorite native plants.
Good morning, Laura☕️ Your first two favs are my favorites, too! I’m excited for Spring and it’s not even Winter 🤣🤣 Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈🐈
I would love to see an Africa themed garden. The colors are so vibrant and glorious.
“African daisies,” etc. Yes, they are resilient and beautiful.
I'm going to have to watch this video again in late winter - not sure I'll retain all this plant knowledge til then (cry out loud)👍👏😊
Laura please comment on pollinators likes and dislikes. Love your shows!
That was so much fun! Thank you for trying all of the varieties!
Good Evening
Omg it's beautiful flowers
Full off colour, nice sharing
Thanks you
You are killing my garden budget! Love the honest reviews. Def adding some to the hunt list. Yes to perennials and shrubs review!!!
oh my goodness ... where did this season go? just yesterday you were potting up these annuals and now we're sitting here talking about what's new for next year - yikes !!!! Time flies when you're having fun, eh? Thanks, as always for all you have chosen to share with us - we, your Garden Answer family are blessed, encouraged and inspired because of this adventure you, Aaron and the entire family have decided to take !!!!
Thank you for the update/rundown on these newer annuals. I would like to have some of these for the hummingbirds. 🤗
Aloha!! Laura, I loved it, when you placed all those super bell along the edge of the flower beds, in mass numbers. They are so striking.
Great information. Really enjoyed hearing how your plantings fared for the year. Looking forward to the next
I love the look of the saffron finch so much but I planted so many yellow blooming perennials this fall that I think I will need to balance my garden with purple and pink annuals next year...
Love the lighting when you film in the Hartley
Beautiful!
Hey Laura Russell can prove to you cats can have a mind of their own.
Love these kind of videos, gets me looking forward to next years garden.❤
Can you imagine those begonias around those trees in the area "semi formal area. " the pink did so well this year. Thank you for this .
SUPER awesome video-always love drop ins from the cat
Good morning!🌻🐝
I can not wait for my new annuals to come up. I managed to get hold of a couple of your recommended bulbs.thank you.
Love them
I’m planning to plant gobs of saffron finch. My front door is yellow! Perfect pairing
The Bermuda Beach Pink color needs to be in my garden next year. I love the salmony pink. The Superbells Double White almost have a rose like bloom. Superbena Cashmere Pink..... omg Love that flower.
23:45 I grew this Begonia this year, and it was AMAZING. I had it in nearly full shade in a hanging basket on my porch, and it was spilling out all over the place and looked stunning. Idk how it would handle full sun, but it handled that shade beautifully.
Thank you for this summary! Can’t wait for next spring’s planting!
Aman Allahım çok güzel paylaşım olmuş bayıldım ❤😊😊
Have a blessed day ❤️
Wonderful video🌹🌹🌹
Beautiful plants. I can't wait to see where you plant them this spring.
Thank you for sharing. ❤
Russell is your supervisor/producer/CATOFIMPORTANCE. He needs a raise - possibly some Fancy Man food (iams).
Lots of beautiful flowers
my brain is on fire now for spring planting, haha... love so many of these new varieties and more resistant to budworm?? yes, please... some of them have such a nostalgic look, too... so many gorgeous plants out there!! i want them all!! hahaha... love this overview and opinion on how they did, where you planted, maintenance and care involved, etc.. it's very helpful and i know i can come back and review the video if i have a question about any of them... excited to see what's up for 2025, too! and seeing sweet Russell getting 'mommy time' without Douglas or Cheddar vying for attention is always good, because we all know that Russell is really the #1 cat... 🥰❤thanks for the video!! 🥰❤
