    This channel has dramatically changed my landscape. You know when you have a contractor do work at your house, they will sometimes put a small sign in your yard advertising their work? Well I feel like I should put a sign in my yard that reads, Landscape by Laura of Garden Answer. 😊

      T Miller The best question I get is..."Who does your gardening?" My answer..."I DO!" Watching Laura has just fueled my already happy passion.

      I'm the exact same. I truly cannot go out to my front yard anymore without someone stopping to chat about landscaping with me. My thoughts toward plants have dramatically changed over the last two years of watching, and it's 100% due to this channel. So I am down for a landscape sign too. :-) Etsy anyone?

    The supertunias are gorgeous , I’ve planted some before and yes they do love love the sun 🌞 but these beauties could also attract caterpillars 🐛 and the caterpillars prevent them from
    Reblooming . It’s happened to me many times so hit them with a BT captains Jack dead bug spray . You’ll see beautiful blooms again. It’s because of Garden Answer I’ve gained experience and learned so much. Enjoy gardening 👩‍🌾

    Just lucked out and found a ton of supertunias at lowes for 0.75$. Got a picasso, royal velvet, and a lemoncello or bordeaux (don't know for sure both of the plant tags were in the pot). Such a score and I have been dying to grow these since I've seen all of your beautiful containers

    Your garden center is amazing. You get plants from there and they already look fantastic. The nurseries I go to, they look small, anemic and like they're on their way out.

    • @chelseamcbride1032
      @chelseamcbride1032 7 лет назад

      KiraiBK I was also confused and sorta let down when I saw the plants I would bring home compared to the ones that she would show in videos... but I think since she's sponsored by PW's either they send her more mature plants that they have been fertilizing, or maybe she lets them grown in the pot for awhile so they are looking their best by video time. I'm just guessing!

    • @tmiller1003
      @tmiller1003 7 лет назад

      Chelsea McBride I can assure you that she doesn't do any tricks to make the plants look as healthy as they are before filming. Her parents nursery is amazing. The plants are all healthy and well-loved. I noticed that family owned nurseries in my town also have robust and mind-blowing plants like Laura's family (otherwise they wouldn't sell very well). When I shop at big box stores like Lowe's and Home Depot, the plants aren't as exciting and healthy. Anyway, I got my first order from Proven Winner's and was blown away....picture perfect plants!

    • @chelseamcbride1032
      @chelseamcbride1032 7 лет назад +1

      T Miller I only shop at locally owned nurseries and the plants don't look at all like they do in this video. Saying that she (or PW's) uses fertilizer or simply lets the plants grow longer before she films a video is not a "trick"... I mean I'm pretty sure everyone knows to use fertilizer and that plants grow bigger overtime (duh!). I know that all I would need to do is bring my plants home, put them in a sunny spot, water & fertilize for a couple weeks, and BAM, my plants would look just like Lauras.

    I used to think that Petunias were old lady plants, as they were all that the oldies asked for at the nursery in which I worked. Apart from the fact that I had never seen them doing overly well in our sub tropical climate. But seeing your beautiful supertunias has caused me to have a change of heart. Only problem is that in the part of Australia where I live there are no Proven Winners suppliers. So sad. So I will have to try out some other types and see how I go.

    I tried Supertunia bubblegum last year n it really grew so well n fast. Thanks to Laura, I bought a lot of PW supertunia although there are other brands with similar flowers. Maybe PW is a little bit more expensive than others, but Laura’s garden has proven the brand so well that it gives me confidence. My garden stores, though, don’t have varieties of supertunias. :(

    After watching your videos, I went on the hunt for the Supertunias. I have able to find a few so I picked up four Bubble Gums to give them a try. I put them in a couple of smallish planters and they are amazing. They have filled in the pot and is starting to spill over the sides. I was also able to find a single lonely diamond frost and used it in a fairy garden. I am so pleased with the results. I definitely will be on the lookout for more Proven Winners next year. Thanks for sharing your amazing garden and for all the tips that you offer.

      You can order direct from Proven Winners (maybe for next year?), and get any type you'd want. :-) My mind is failing me on the names, but I purchased the deep purple and the purple/green varieties this way in the spring and they are just now going crazy here in the PNW.

    I've bought the three supertunias in front of you the last three years. Bubblegum is pretty easy to find, but I have gone an hour and a half out of my way to find the other two. I love them so much. You are a good spokesperson for Proven Winners because now I look for their plants. Unfortunately, they aren't as attainable as I would like. I didn't know until you told us this year that supertunias don't have to be dead headed. So now that's all I will buy. Love your videos.

    I absolutely adore Supertunias. Ever since I started watching you last year & you were showing the different colors & varieties of Supertunias & the sweet little Super Bells i have had nothing but them in my pots. I only buy the brand Proven Winners because the others that ive bought just didn’t do well and needed so much more attention.i have some right now that is from last year that made it through the winter & even snow. They are so full , in fact i really need to trim one of my baskets because it has gotten so big and its really got a lot of trainings making it too heavy for its branches. Thank you for sharing your time & knowledge with all us gardeners. I for one really appreciate it. From a fan in Covington Louisiana.

    I grew my 1st last year of a pinkish rose. Never to disappoint. This year I have 2 bubble gums, all in your video here + yellow to white with yellow ctrs to just added one of most Gorgeous dark purple to wine color. I absolutely love these. The one last year bloomed all summer to It was one of my Favorites. It could of been in a larger pot. I just finished 1 big planter today with Gorgeous thriller of Gorgeous magneta colored dianthus with this dark burgundy supertunia, some coleus of pink green etc and the silver foliage also a Favorite as coleus. I actually rooted 3 of several coleus, sweet potato vine that are so loaded with roots. Wish I'd known could root before letting several go. I get most all my ideas from you. As you mentioned one coleus that won awards 1 of best so on In new video of annuals. The burgundy with some lime I think. I do have that one rooted to just bought 2 more 8 packs mixed. Orderd some of new pink explosions and under the sea bone fish. Want more. Recently subscribed to your growing group. I've been following you and absolutely love all you do to create such beauty. Just watched video last week of you and Erin as he did his 1st containers. So loved all. You are such an Inspiration so sweet I just LOVE Watching you. "the other petunia brand" is usually what I'd buy and they were pretty and healthy at the begining but later they looked ragged and oh my gosh it was a pain to continually deadhead them ..urghh! Yep that will be my choice next year and also the 2 types of fertilizers. I'm happy now :) ! Huggs and blessing . p.s. I love seeing that cutie Dexter make cameo appearances, he makes me smile. Hahaha, petunias grow wild in my garden. We've had times when it didn't rain for two months and they were there like nothing and obviously no fertilizer. Some of them even smell! :)

    I spent the money this year and put all proven winners in my front yard and regular Menards petunias in my back yard. Well, my backyard looks amazing and ALL of the supertunias in the front did not grow and are looking horrid. Super disapointed.
    I have to add that the superbenas are doing fantastic. I got the white and purple ones in your vids. Flower explosion.

    Hello!!
    Can these be grown in window boxes?!
    I'm new to gardening and really wanted to start with a low maintenance flower in a pot/box.
    I purchased a 4ft long window box and I have no clue how many supertunias I can plant in 1 box..
    I am soooooo glad I found your channel!!

    My hanging basket of supertunias has lost all the blossoms. What can I do? Trim the dead stuff and give it a good haircut? Lots of brown dead stuff is underneath My flowers are much smaller than those pictured in the video
    They are the size of violets

    Can't find a place to ask you a question but I love your videos and I'm so envious of your gardens I wish I was there to do free labor lol
    My question I'm making raised flower beds two and a half by 5 ft 4 in tall. Gladiolus will be near the house and the outside of the box the inside near the walkway and the front of the box by the road will have I'm hoping tulips which don't need to be dug up.
    So as the tulips are cut back and turning yellow I'm hoping the gladiolas will start to grow then I will cut back the tulips and clean it up and my plan was to plant wave petunias or some other plant on top but I heard that tulip bulbs should not be watered during the summer what should I do

    A local (Hawaiian) grower had these in some local soil mix in 1 gallons... Too HEAVY.
    I lost a whole 10 dollar plant from an overwatering, that the plant never came back from.
    (If Ever in this position, correct the soil issue yourself, before it's too late.)
    -She isn't kidding... These are Spectacular, if not drowning in muggy soggy soil.

    I loved the petunias in your garden so I got excited to try them myself this year! I'm experiencing an issue where they are growing much bigger than I had planned. Should I leave/trim them or can I transplant them?

    I purchased the vista bubblegum today and was told that I should put 2 in a 16"pot so that they didn't get root rot. He said that even 1 would get full by the end of summer. I'd like to have it fairly full within the next month, but I don't want them to get leggy in August. I wanted to put 2 different colors in as well, but they said that the bubblegum would get huge and the other colors of the same type would not. Is this true? Have you ever put 2 together and they both looked equally beautiful? Tell me how many you would plant in the 16" pot. I live in Northern KY. Our summers are hot and humid.

    I am so trying these next summer...every time i heard a gardening center mentioning “dead heading will help bringing more flowers” this is so a turn off.

    I had a great show of them last year especially Bubblegun
    , I left them over winter, and the tops dried of and now I have collected a lot of seed, which are very small. Will they germanite easily.
