Wow really? I heard good things about these reels so I'm hoping to have a different experience. Unfortunately, those beautiful Accurate Valiant's were not in the budget for me. One day though
I bought the same reel early last year. Prettiest thing ever . Spooled it with 30lb braid. The line slipped through the space between the spool and the frame and into some gearing. I removed the side plate to get it out and must have messed up something else when i reassembled it. Now useless. Hope your luck is better. Enjoy.
@@LivinSalty no. I think that since i messed up and prob voided any warranty that i should bring it to a “reel guy” near me. Well, i haven’t done that either. Procrastinator.
Hey I hear ya, we are all busy now-a-days haha. I think it would be worth it though to shoot Gomexus an email. Ask for advise on how to fix it and get back together, I agree I don't think there would be any warranty with it anymore. Not sure though, but worth a shot! Ya never know until you ask!
I bought one of those rails last year it lasted like three hours and I never got to use it I trace pulling it and it fell apart on me maybe it was just a defect but it just ruined it for me I hope yours is OK let me know thanks
Oh no that sounds horrible! Was it a Goofish slow-pitch rod? Did you contact them? I'm sure they would've made things right. I still have yet to catch a fish on slow-pitch but have fished it a bunch of times and its been fine! I have 2 of them now
Mines never been like that, and my drag works just fine. I would contact gomexus, sounds like you might’ve gotten a defective reel. Sorry to hear that!
unfortunately, I have tried slow-pitch jigging many times and still have yet to catch a fish using it :( Rod so far is holding up fine, but again, it hasn't seen any fish so it really hasn't been put to the test.
I just finished building myself my first slow pitch rod and I spiraled the guides to the right. Oops. Lol I really haven't heard anything convincing that it actually matters.
I've heard all sorts of theories on which way the spiral should go. So many different opinions that I personally think it is inconsequential which way you wrap it
i hope your combo is holding up. personally i would go for some other brands, especially the rod. a little more expensive but also more reliable. i have heard not great reviews with the gofish. but i hope i works for you
The reason for this is so you can level your line as you reel in by just pushing the line over with your thumb . As you crank, the wrap of the rod should pull the line back to the side it spirals to.if it's built correctly the first guide should be a couple degrees off center to facilitate this
I also have a goofish fishing rod, I combined it with an Ocean Jigger. This rod is very popular in Asia. but if you use it for jigging for a long time, it will drain your energy cuz solid blank must be heavy for jigging. Choose torayca blank fishing rod, like piratez slower if you like asia fishing rod. This rod more lighter, nice tone and you can jigging all day. 😁
No, we have a same rod. I know that goofish fishing rod are light. just try pirates strike slower if you want to. You might be surprised like me. Besides being very light, this fishing rod also has a good tone and strong lifting power. I just want to share my experience bro. 👌🙏
Great Topic! I just subbed! I just started Slow Pitch Jigging recently and I have caught some new species. I am a multispecies angler and also have a RUclips fishing channel.
I have the black goofish rod paired with a spinning reel. Works great. Pulled some large halibut and lings with it.
Awesome!
What kind of spinning reel?
One of these rebranded Chinese reel blew up on the first time out with it. Hope it'll work for you.
I had one blew up on me on my first fish
Thank god I was wearing sunglasses
Carbon spikes was all over my face

Gomexus makes great handles. But how are their reels?
I've had great experiences with their reels so far! Check out some of my recent videos, I caught a giant Gag Grouper and Cobia on em.
Where did you buy your goofish rod and reel from
Direct from manufacturer. Goofish website and gomexus website

So far so good! Although I haven't been doing much slow-pitching lately unfortunately
I read nothing but positive comments regarding goofish rods on the SPJ communities. Regardless of It being entry level
Goofish rods are awesome
My friend was bringing up 20 lbs grouper left and right everything they said I just cause it was made in china
We have used the Goofish rods extensively and put them through a lot of fishing pressure. The result? Excellent rods for the money!!
Good vid, thanks!
2-4 is that a Med Heavy action?.
Goofish does not specify the action, just says its rated for 120-350 gram jigs
How is it holding up?
Still working well! Haven’t used it as much as I’d hoped but that’s due to my own fault. But no problems so far!
Acid wrap always goes opposite of whichever way the reel handle is
Great, thank you!

Very cool, thanks for the sub! I hope to bring a lot more slow-pitch content to my channel soon!
Did you catch any fish with this setup?
sadly not yet :( but I'm tryin! Unfortunately, I haven't tried as much as I would like.
You spend 180$ you better get a damn case
lol
Only 350$ to make your rod go up and down 🤣
This is on the cheaper end, these kind of combos easily go for $800+

What $350 for this rod? You are big carrot 😂
Well, I’ve never been called a carrot before so that’s new 🤣
