What you say about building what customers really want is so true. It's not a technology contest or about lapping the Nürburgring 0.05 seconds quicker, it's about miles and smiles, and a fabulous soundtrack. Great review!
@@origaminefretami3480 It's more than fast enough for the street. Near 500hp was crazy for street cars not that long ago. 1,000hp is USELESS for a car you actually drive around.
I took delivery of my very own one of these (manual convertible, in yellow) a few days ago and am loving it. It's the first S650 convertible I have seen in the UK, too. I actually think the manual really suits the convertible as the open top and DIY gearshifts really combine with the V8 to immerse you in the experience. Honestly, it's wonderful even at parking speeds.
As an automatic Dark Horse Owner in Luxembourg, having that car is the perfect cruiser as you said, and still perfectly capable of having some track fun and some B roads fun! I’m nearing 12K kms and planning on doing lots of roadtrips with it. I love this car, plus there is no european car in this price range that sounds anywhere close as good as this out of the factory!

The Euro/UK spec ones are a waste of money. 0-100kmh in over 5 seconds for the GT . Literally 0 point in driving a V8 that's super inefficient on fuel just to be slower than a 4-cyl Golf R that cost 20k less. I'm having a US spec 2025 GT imported to the UK right now. I'm going to happily drive a LHD car on UK roads just so I don't have to sacrifice power, speed, and sound. I paid 68k for this car so I want it to be authentic and not some watered down hollow shell of what a mustang really is.
Saw that as well an idiot was driving it. Not allowing the car to shift it self messing up every shift he tried to do with the paddles. And not letting the car do it for it self like the guy was doing in the BMW. the mustang should have won that easily.
Just got mine about a month ago, manual transmission. It does feel a bit slower than my last 5.0 which was an auto but way more fun! And I think this new gen sounds better. The exhaust has some pops that my last Mustang didn’t have. I’m loving it !

Too many car manufacturers have forgotten what a fun car is supposed to be. They are so caught up in trying to have the latest and greatest, that they have forgotten the fundamental reason for having a performance car. To have fun
Fun fact - the gauge cluster you have on when you start the car is a replica and homage of the late 80s and early 90s Foxbody Mustang. So yes, it's intentionally retro.
It actually one of my favourite cars on sale atm and I didn’t think I’d say that about an American car. I’d have the hard top tho, it doesn’t look good with a soft top.
Max you nailed it with this review. Great one! I agree w pretty much every point you made. It is a perfect muscle car 10 speed auto. Some of us drive in heavy traffic at times, for me, in NY now and LA previously. It's not so fun to burn clutches and wreck your legs for hours on end everyday. This is a nice solution with the paddle shifters and 10 speed. The Magnaride suspension is awesome. The style is amazing and the engine is very well developed and has potential to modify, if you want. As it is the performance is sufficient and can compete with many other brands. I would prefer the hardtop though. The trunk space is very usable for a daily and also you can put the rear seats down for more room! I do wish they had made an AWD for all weather driving. When it comes to the BMW and Mercedes w all the phony noises and strange modern quirks, as well as oddball looks at times, I also agree strongly with you. They are trying so hard to please young audiences who do not even know what they really want yet, and get so gimmicky that they lose the great things they USED to be. And have so many problems these days that come up and require expensive service. I just think they got lost within their own images and hence lost the way in taking pride with the best things that were once well developed. This is the same reason, I would rather have a Nissan GTR, than a new Merc or BMW. It is far more refined and the R&D and development is what creates a drivers car that you can truly enjoy fully and rely on for years, not to mention retains it's value!.
I had a 19 Bullitt. Inthe shop a lot. Otherwise a fantastic machine. There is nothing like a big powerful V-8 and a good manual, with a great suspension. I can only guess how much it has improved in 5 years!
