I had to drive a V12 back once and it was mind-blowing and exactly as Max says. The torque surge is unrelenting. It was so linear, so smooth and just insane. Ill never forget that day.

i agree this car is great, probably the best looking coupé ever made, but 350k just for a coupé is mindblowing, no wonder they discontinued it few years later again. im happy that they meanwhile offer big coupé like the CLE which you can actually afford...

Among the most collectible S-Classes and a peak for the breed, the S65 Coupe is highly underrated. A simple update to Michelin Cup2's and a RENNtech plug in tune bring big traction, handling and acceleration gains from a stop. I feel like we're losing a whole generation of autobahn bred masterpieces. This was a real AMG treat.

One of the if not the best coupe a car manufacturer has ever build in my opinion. It has united luxury, comfort and performance in perfection. Even though it was an expensive car and still is as a used one especially with the V12 it was/is worth every cent.
It's a timeless classic, doesn't look to overloaded with technology, but still in time like it's released today it's an absolute perfect car in every way!!!!! S63/65 Coupé is the most perfect Car MB ever made in my opinion
I love those AMG Bi-Turbo V12s. They sound so dirty and evil. Especially this generation of the S-Class Coupé is absolutely gorgeous, in my opinion at least.
I have two of the S65 4 seater and can say, that the limiter (280 km/h) is at this car already removed. The limiter is mainly the RPM and gearbox, to get a higher top speed you have to modify the last gear of the 7g tronic. However, it is possible to open the NM limiter of 1,000 NM, which gives you around 1,300 NM. But you should only do that if the car has a lot of mileage and is no longer worth much.
As an owner of a C63S STAGE 2 that develops 640 bhp @1000nm, i would love to drive my car just once on the Autobahn ....but this review satisfied my longing

Such a magnificent car. This is also peak Mercedes interior design when the screens were still nicely integrated into the dash and not a giant ipad slapped in the center console. Only thing it needs are some beautiful analog gauges.
I am so sad they discontinued this beautiful car. Unpopular opinion: The S Coupés look much more cooler, sportier, younger, innovative than the S class sedan. And more than any SUV in the Mercedes Benz line up right now of course. Coupés like the C and E Coupé were looking so eye catching cool. I am just sad how they thin out the Coupés line up just to push SUVs. Nowadays we only have CLA and CLE sadly
The CLE 63 will be the perfect modern coupe if they put a V8 in it. I’ve driven the CLE 43 and it’s a really cool car and also the interior looks great
You should also mention the running cost of the cars reviewed. People forget that the maintenance effort and cost of any V12 engine is insane. This thing easily costs $6,000 annual maintenance over a five-year period.
