This might be the weirdest compliment you'll ever get but your general grace and beauty gave me this unique moment where I thought " there is no way humans are just a random product of physics, this was put here by God"
💚💚💚
I think it was at 3:30 , I felt that too 🙂, voice is so pure and graceful 🙏
Thank you
Thanks so much Amy. Got my handpan a few days ago, after years of prevarication. Worried that at my age I would have forgotten how to pay attention and relax into it, be mindful etc. But much thanks to you, no worries, only a sense of budding excitement. (and amazement at how sophisticated the D kurd is as a tuning, glad I learned piano basics as a kid!)
I just bought one and had absolutely no idea how to play. I love this tune it simple but interesting gonna keep playing until it get it with your help. Thanks heaps love your work ❤
Beautiful song and an excellent example of the power of dynamics! Thank you!
I haven’t played for a while but just came back. This tutorial has been amazing for taking my playing to the next level. Thanks so much!
Awesome!! Thanks Steve
Thank you Amy for sharing your beautiful talent. I keep coming back.
Thank you 💚
Great tutorial Amy! Your playing is so elegant & inspirational…I like the way the notes stay hanging in the air like leaves dancing in an autumn breeze. Can’t wait to try this out on my E Kurd 🙏🏻
I think that's the first time my name and the word "elegant" have ever been used together! Hehe, thank you Christina 😊 it'll be directly translatable to the E Kurd too! Only it'll sound even sweeter I'm sure 😁😁
Thank you for this simple melody Amy 🇦🇺👍
Absolutely love your teaching style and approach to the instrument

thanks for sharing i might have to try it, i have a novapan d kurd minor, i think i'm at a point where i need to learn more from others to be fair
With your pan you can learn this note for note (besides the extra bottom notes)
Sos muy genia muchas gracias 🙌🙌
Hi Amy, I just purchased the D Minor 12 note handpan. I can't seem to find any tutorials for it. Not knowing anything about handpans, I'm wondering if I make a mistake with my purchase. Seems like all of the tutorials are with the D Kurd tuning.
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 beautiful
Thanks S
Top Amy 😘
lovely song and great tutorial, as always. Thanks for sharing this. Seeing you hit that 11th note on the bottom of your handpan has me thinking. I’m getting close to getting my first handpan and I’m really considering what I want out of the instrument. I’d love any advice you may have on getting a first handpan and thing to consider. Largely, I’m wondering what is a good number of notes for a beginner.
When I first started I had an 8-note handpan (+ding). I loved it and found lots of ways to keep it interesting. Nowadays, more and more folks opt for having more notes on the pan. I would recommend sticking to a 8 or 9 notes and if you want extra bottom notes for more variation too, at least you have the option of just not playing them until you're ready. Mutant pans (scales that have extra notes on the top shell) can sometimes get a little complicated for beginners. But it all depends on personal preference and what scale sings to you the most.
@@AmyNaylorMusic that is very helpful. Thank you so much for getting back to me. I have see handpans referred to as mutant, but wasn’t sure about what that meant. Also, good point about the bottom. I would like to get a handpan that will last me for a while. Such a cost upfront. I think what you said about the bottom could give some room to grow while keeping the top palate simple for learning. Thanks again for the advice. Looking forward to your next video.
Hey Amy! Thanks for your videos! I don’t even have a Handpan but I love them already hahah
At this right moment I’m planning to buy my instrument, but I’m in a huge doubt about the right material for me (nitrited, stainless steel, carbon…)
This one of yours in this video is a nitrited one?
I’m actually a drummer and consider myself more into the percussive thing. Would you say that this maies the nitrited a better option for me?
By the way, you should make a video about the differences!
Thanks a lot!
If you are planning to play more percussively, I recommend a nitrided instrument (like the one in this video). Stainless pans lend themselves more to melodic playing and even just slapping the in between areas really makes the surrounding notes sing, whereas nitrided have a shorter resonance.
Keep listening to lots of different types of handpan and see what calls to you ☺️
Hi Amy, I'm trying to follow the rythm but I can't anymore at around minute 12. What do you do exactly ?
Thanks 😃
Beautiful piece. What type of handpan were you using? Want to learn and purchase
This is a D kurd from Aciel Handpans
So beautifull...sometimes i cant good see with wich finger you are playing. Than it looks another place than What you are doing. So it is going wrong than. Wen i play. I hope you can read my englisch 😅
How much do you charge for lessons?
I take it that your D kurd handpan is at 440 Hz 'cos mine is at 432hz and each note sounds a little flatter than your played notes
- Thx
Yep
Really really simple she said 😀 i feel so silly cause it doesn’t feel simple 😅 Help! Haha
I'm getting tangled and confused with the rhythm. 😮💨😩
