I am a beginner and my handpan has been sitting at my home for a few years now. I even took an online course but every time stopped playing it after a couple of days of practice. I love how you play and teach because you make it so much fun and playful. Hell, learning should be fun and playful...especially learning to play music. Thank you for being and your gift.

It is amazing to me to see you effortlessly make music! Still working my pan with your exercises. I have learned a couple of grooves. One of the best things you said before is to take as much time playing as practicing. By accident, I sometimes make some good sounds! 😁 Thank you for another inspiring video!

🎼 Another great Video. I think that I'll give it a bash. I keep on saying that there are no words to express my gratitude for your guidance.🙏 However, I will keep trying. It's important that you know what your work means to me, and many many others. BTW, I am looking forward to hearing more of your stuff. Thanks again, and please do take good care of yourself. PS, love the shirt, I just happen to be wearing mine. I think I'll order a couple more in the next week or so.

I like what you were playing. It conjures up a feelings of floating through space, cosmic images! I love the feel of it and the subtleties you were introducing. Thanks for your explaning your method /application of blocks of 4s. I find my approach a bit like making a fried rice! I'm yet to complete the cooking process to plate. 🙏

8:00 "Turn those mistakes into the improvisation..." You just summarized a century of jazz and its successors.

The part where it messes with your left/right feels similar to when I'm plucking odd numbers, and the phrases swap being up and down strokes. It's such a small thing that can take me entirely out of the playing. and I find it helpful to continue practicing until I do just get it. Thinking about the second phrase as it's own thing, maybe, or an extension of the first phrase. Have the swapped direction of playing be a guide in where the notes might go instead. You might change some in the second phrase to the opposite side of the pan to help, in similar ways that I often might go down a string instead of up. Because that's the way my hand is moving.
Wonderful to have you back. ^_^

Just stumbled across your videos! I’m such a visual learner, it really helps to see your playing from behind! I’d love to see if you ever write your music on paper? I use David Charrier’s rav drum symbols to show the dings, notes, accents & ghost notes. Then I change things up on paper & see how it sounds!
🧡But it really helps to hear how you explain the way you phrase things in compositions. I feel like you can find bits and pieces of how to create compositions but rarely does anyone take the time to tell you how to put them all together. Thank you so much babe!

Thanks! Yes, many of my other tutorials offer overhead views to help with learning. I don't notate often hear on RUclips as a lot is improvised. David Charrier's courses are a great resource
