There’s nothing better than seeing an older gentleman drive a car like a 16 year old kid!!
Actually a 16 year old would crash it...
Bert - that’s hysterical!!!
And keep it off the curbs!
Keeps him young Dosnt it !!
@@23727bgk a 16 yo couldn't afford one.😁
I still think these are the best looking Corvettes ever designed
I agree 1000%
Over all without a doubt. I will add however that the front grill on the ‘58-60 C1 Vettes is the most awesome front end ever put on a car.
The most symmetrically gorgeous car ever built is the '65 Stingray!
Yes Sir!!💯💯
100% and it's not even close!
A race car for the street! Gotta love him finding a beat up body and having a vision for it. He definitely has the car dialed in too.
This car is perfect for those Sunday drives in the hills.
Oh hell, any day of the week that ends in "day" would be great for a drive in this vett!
F**king B.A. Vette...luv the segway into this video luv the rims matching side mirrors & dash 🤣🤣🤣 luv when he put the Brakes on letting you know he's Guggi😜😜
When I saw the cover photo for this video in my notifications, i think i broke a finger tapping the play button!
Shawns reactions are priceless when it comes to the braking capabilities. And the donuts and smiles, just awesome. Such an incredible car. Great episode guys.
Well, now he is in a car with functioning brakes which doesn’t have to rear end others to stop at an intersection…. 😂
Wow! I’m blown away with all the positive comments! Thank you to the AutotopiaLA subscriber’s! And thanks to Shawn and his crew for doing such a great job on the video!
Thank YOU Greg!
You’re living the dream bruh! I’d trade my Hellcat in a second for this car!!!
love the ride
Thank you for taking us along for such an amazing virtual ride 🏁👏🏁
You sir are a fantastic builder/driver and such a gentleman 😊
As soon as I seen the rear suspension 😍🥰. I love these builds done by the old school guys. Cars that are built to be driven and driven with aggression. See here's the thing, yeah those pro touring builds that have a full leather custom interior and ride on air bags that's fine for the normies . If I'm gonna put this kind of money and my own time into a build it better make mom's scared for their children's safety and every cop in the tri-state area will have a picture of my car on their dash. 😈
Preach on brother!
Thank you, great humor!
The phrase " Drive it like you stole it" comes to mind
That is the motto I live by...
In the words of Dale from stepbothers, That.......was.......AWESOME!!!!
The fact that this man drives the piss out of this masterpiece is so dope! Goal in life = be like this guy! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 much respect!!!
PS: C2 Vettes are my favorite generation. Dream Vette ALL DAY!!! 😮💨
Love your words!
@@gregthurmond1676 🙏🏽
All 8 generations I love , I'm a corvette guy all day but C6 and C3 are my top 2💨
Now THAT'S a fun Corvette! Six years of track use and only change the oil...OMFG!
I had to catch the video. What a beast! Your sunglasses stayed on under breaking lol. 😎
Serious little racecar
My first thought when I heard him on it too Shawn
That's a bunch of RPM's
Very Cool Vette
You know it's fun when Shawn starts clapping haha
What a sweet build and showcase. Looks to be about as much as you can have with your pants on, haha!
Thats how theyre supposed to be driven...otherwise..what are they for...true testament to how well and why it was built...the guy is a old school badass
Greg must be the ultimate cool grandpa. And if he hasn't got kids, I would like to offer myself up for adoption.
Ive got two adorable grandkids!
Hahahaha this is awesome!
Good one!
Good one!
My Dad is the greatest man who ever lived, but I nominate this high-speed gent to be my kickass uncle!
Dennis Hopper would definitely appreciate it .
That 356 wouldn’t stand a chance 😁
What an incredible car, and a talented fellow behind the wheel. This was a great video...thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous car. 65 - 67 are my favorite years for the Corvette. A 65 - 67 Corvette Stingray and a 68 Mustang Fastback are my two dream cars. I love the addition of the Stinger hood. That LS7 sounds AMAZING. I fucking love that Greg doesn't baby this car. He drives it the way it's meant to be driven. Another amazing video.
Why not 63 and 64? 63-67 are the same body style except for the split window in 63.
@@Panthercholo nothing against the 63 or 64. For starters, I'm not a big Split Window guy. Not diminishing the beauty of the car, it's just not for me. I am aware that the body style is the same however what gives the 65-67 the edge is the engine options. I prefer the engine options and specs that came with the 65, 66, and 67 model years over the 63 and 64. I love the 63 and 64, 65 and 67 just gets the edge for me. Plus I've seen a few gorgeous builds just like this one based around the 65-67 model year Vettes. When it comes to generations, I've noticed I tend to lean more towards the middle years or end of generation years because in the case of the Corvette, you get the same beautiful styling but with bigger, more powerful power plant options. I guess in my eys they're just more perfected.
@@devinosborne7785 Makes sense. I'm a '64 lover myself. Most of my cars, since my first car at 15, have been '64s. I'm partial to small blocks, especially the 327.
@@Panthercholo I'd honestly take a 396 or a small block. The small blocks are more nimble in the front end. I hope to own a 65-67 'Vette Stingray, 68 Mustang Fastback, a 240Z (not picky year wise) and a 1977 Toyota Celica GT Liftback
The company that makes this guys Engine is no joke they make like 2500 hp LS big money Awesome car
The Driver enjoys stomping on the throttle and brakes and driving it hard.
I agree with the owner about not using a bunch of plastic covers to hide that beautiful LS
I guess I’ll be the first to say, this car is amazing!
You are Sir and it is I have 650 ponies to ground in my BelAir
If we were in the 1980s this car would have a TV show written around it.
That would’ve been cool!
Nice car love the colour!!
Greg T is the man! One of the best Vette builders in the country. And an amazing driver who has and probably still is at the top of the USCI race series!
All true. And top it off…such a cool guy
LOL love the pedal attitude, never to Old. Loved it and as you said Shaun, Blown away
What a monster car. Who over put that together knew a thing or two.
Shawn rocking the matching shirt! Loving it I need one.💯🙌✌
I’m not a corvette guy but I would drive that car. The color is stunning and I bet the handling is superb being widened and that new suspension. Cool build, I bet it’s a hoot to race 👍
Nice vette 👍👍
That rocker arm IRS is a work of art.... first time I've ever seen a configuration like it. Just wow!
That rear set up is my own design! Thank you for your appreciation!
@@gregthurmond1676 If I had the money I'd pay you to build me a C2.
Very cool car. I love that color that's beautiful.
I always said if I had the money I would buy a C2 and make a STOCK LOOKING wide body like this. I hate those nasty looking fender flares like the ones that were on this vette when they found it.
Im right there with ya! Thanks!
I watch all your videos, great work! This is my first time posting on any video, after seeing this car I'm literally grinning ear to ear like an idiot! Holy Christ that's the shit right there
Im stoked to hear that!
I bet GREG can't go 30 seconds without cutting SHAWN OFF
Always a blast. No chiropractor needed!
The looks on your face Shawn when he accelerate and abruptly stop 😂😂
What a beautiful Vette 👍🏻
Stunning
Badazz car 👊🏾💪🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥
He has built a no nonsense bulletproof race car for the street. The way he’s having a blast kicking it’s ass and making no apologies for hammering the beast, beautifully built piece of machinery!
Well done !
Awesome car 😎
This is why I don't want a numbers matching car. I just couldn't do this with a complete car. Which is why I'm looking for a roller with as much body as possible. Great video! Love the car!
This is the greatest car ever built. I'm speechless 😶
Thank you!
Yeah, this is the kinda Vette I want. Love the C2 styling. But with modern stuff underneath...Perfect! Gorgeous car. Will go anywhere and do everything! Drooling 🤤 🤤 🤤!
Actually knowing Greg and seeing what’s in his shop and his wife’s corvette as well. This man loves what he does. I don’t have a bad word to say about him and he’s 100% one of if not the coolest guy I have gotten to know or ride a long with.
Thanks Gio for the nice comments!
I'd love to have a guy that like for a neighbor 👍
Wow. That's awesome!
@@gregthurmond1676 wow, being able to drop a note to a legitimate celebrity! Greg, what can I say, you are just plain cool, and just plain fun! Absolutely fantastic build. Really well done! I'm guessing we're about the same age and you're really inspiring me to get my build going. 👍🇺🇸
I'm in Austin. If you ever head back to CODA, it would be my privilege to meet you. Heck, we can bring my wife and we'll all go out for BBQ (or I can bring it to the track). Do you have a website, or do you know if you're coming back to Texas?
Thank you Shawn and Gregg !!!!
Every aspect of this video was better than any other. .Gregg is the first and only individual to thoroughly demonstrate the stopping capacity of his vehicle on your program. I was tense in my seat only viewing the video. He truly beat on it. Your ending remarks summarized most of what stood out
In many ways this could be the best vehicle you have ever recorded and posted.
Excellent work on both of your parts
Wow! Such nice comments! I was nervous that my car wouldn’t live up to the quality of cars that AutotopiaLA does! Thank you!
This is my new favorite video/car. Dialed isn't the word! This is the benchmark that every build should try and beat!
Glad you like the car! Thanks!
Someone built suspension, fit brakes and tires to handle crazy power? No way!
When I see older gentlemen like the owner of this sweet vette I tell my self why couldn't my dad had been into cars 😑😑
Awe - we wish that for ALL kids!
so much fun, driving that beast!!!!!
An absolute beauty!
Sick ride!!!!🙂
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Such a beautiful color 😍
Okay, this dude gets it! Talk about getting the most from your car.
Thank you!
New favorite! Rad car. Great driver.
This car is bad ass, gorgeous and the driver really knows what to do with it. Makes for a great vid!
Awesome car Shawn you have the absolute best job it must be great to check out all these awesome cars and then to get in them and drive them
Correction: this EXACT car is outside my door in Pleasanton as I text this. Maybe I can get Greg to give me a test ride!
It must have been the sister car. Had the headlight openings in the body removed exactly the same way. I can't find the picture I took of it...
Such a rad car! Sounds awesome too sticking with NA :-)
Bad ass car. It has it all..the acceleration and the stopping! Love the orange too. That looked fun. And Greg is a good driver!
Thanks! I had a blast with Shawn and his crew!
Awsome build...Nice & solid with no drama 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Old cars have so much personality. This is just bad ass!!
Sick!!!! What a Machine….
Awesome build love it and love the videos please keep them coming
I can't thank you enough for putting your videos on. I'm 69 and truly miss horsepower but you give us a taste of it and it's truly appreciated. Stay safe my friend.
Stunning, love the colour.
Es impresionante, me encanta. Un 10😍😍😍😍👏👏👏
I have to say a Corvette has never drawn me in to want to know more about it ...until this car......I like them a bunch... but this one is special
That was awesome stunning car stunning colour and engineering
That Gforce pull is 🔥
It is intense!
Those C2s are what changed the world. Best on this show. Badd ass perfection. Vote for best of show.☝️☝️☝️❤❤❤😎😎😎
Thank you!
That looks like a shit ton of fun to drive!!! Like a car that can get u into the best kind of trouble. Awesome
What a glorious build
Cool car, any motor that Ligenfelter builds is gonna be sick!
LPE knows how to build an LS7! Thanks!
Not a big fan of the vettes but I’d be glad to own an drive this one , it’s awesome an that rear suspension is cool as hell to watching how it works, that car stays planted at take off and stop, 💯🤙🏼
Thanks for the nice comments!
Wow! Amazing car! Badass C2!😍😍🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪
Love the color dude 😍
God that looks good! Who wouldn’t like that ride!
I'm a Ford guy but damn that's one badass Vette. Shawn love your channel, you have such a great job. You better pinch yourself every day!
I love what I do! And this car is so well built and driven
Great episode Shawn!
What a cool car Greg built!
Thx man!
Im kinda speechless , this car and driver are phenomenal , just balls to the wall, makes up for the countless lame ass reviews of fast cars putting around in traffic , killer content Shawn
Thank you!
I'm speechless... Too good buddy 🤠🤠🇺🇸 superb
"Jeez, this car is just a..."
Massive engine roar
"Omg."
That's how you know your just as thrilled as you are a bit terrified of the monster your sitting in and Greg is a master class driver. This beast is nastyyyy
Well done, golf claps gentlemen.
This is a Beast.
Thank you!
That's mean machine
Calor choice is beautiful for that model.
Those donuts where fun to watch.
Ha Haaa, what a well built machine, looked like he was trying to pull your insides out. Wow. What a beautiful pro touring car !!
He killed it on this build and his driving is insane
Great build. The drone really came thru on video.
You ought to try growing up with this dude. He's never let up since the day he could drive. Amazing build and amazing driving..
Is this YOU Mike Ives???
Mike?
@@gregthurmond1676 Yep, that's me. I remember having the same emotions as Shawn in your Chevelle SS...
This and the Buick 1000
are off the chart!
Autotopia once again outdoing the
Competition!
Normally I dont'like C2 but this car is great !
I've been watching this show for a while, This is my favorite car yet.
The car looks sweet, handles like a Go Kart, and Greg is a hell of a driver!!!
Thank you!
Love the car but I’m a little iffy on the shaved door handles on a race car. It could get messy getting a driver out in case of an accident. Especially if there was a fire and track personnel needed to get the driver out quickly.
Love how he took us on a backwards walkthrough of the powertrain. The faded harnesses and the interior wear adds to the badassedness. Looks like too much fun 😈
There is so much to love about this car.......I don't know where to start......what a gem of a build......
