Hi Jacky it’s Richard I was six when you sang this lovely song because I love horses and always will. I also work for a horse rescue centre in Rehabilitation and it’s lovely to see the lovely horses afterwards and I would say ten out of ten most of the time. My wife loves me doing it and she is an estate agent. We have a lovely black mare called Midnight and she is six a rescue Horse 16.2hands and all of the family and I love here

I was born in 1958 and it’s safe to say that like every other young boy, Julia in White Horses was my first nascent crush. The sound of this song, which only accompanied the British broadcast still gives me goosebumps. Unfortunately the Austrian actress who played Julia, Helga Anders committed suicide at the young age of 38 in 1986.
I remember when we first got a computer (we were a bit late to the game in this family!) Helga Anders was one of the first people I googled, because of my happy childhood memories. According to the sources I read she passed from heart disease, very sad either way.
Encapsulates the sixties perfectly. Reminds me of sticking PG Tips Brooke Bond tea cards into albums. Teacards and Sundays with the roast in the oven and the radio on.
I remember pressing this on the juke box in the bowling alley where my mother worked when I was 8. Then when I started riding I always hummed it to yself when I went riding. Like others I also watched programme on the Banana Splits Saturday mornigs. A beautiful song sung beautifully, a real trip down memory lane.
I will be showing these tv programmes to my son, kj who is 8 years old, I told him this is what I watched during my 6 wks summer hoidays, memories I will always treasure for the rest of my life.

Hi Nick, I didn't realize that it was a French series, my, my, one learns something new everyday. You would think I should have known. All I ever did was go to the studio get my sheet of music and sing the song no matter what it was, and that was that. I must say I am now thrilled to have been picked to sing White Horses Theme song. you think it was french too! i had it in my mind that we used to watch a version with french words for this song. and i couldn't find it because i was searching for a tv show about the wild white horses of camargue region, france. (i was only 4 in 1968). but no - it was centred on a Lipizzaner horse breeding farm in probably austria (i think they filmed in yugoslavia) and was dubbed with english.
Oh great memories watching the TV series and listening to this classic gem by the talented Ms Jackie. I have tried to track down the songs from Jackie's now rare 1968 album "White Horses" as this LP has not been issued on CD yet. It's a shame as the track listing looks really good. I hope they will appear on here eventually as I have not heard any of them apart from the title track of course.
