    I just ran across your RUclips channel. I love your garden! Wilmington is a great place to grow perrenials, and you have a wonderful assortment. I lived in the Ogden area for 17 years, but now live about 30 minutes away. Thanks for sharing your beautiful garden!

      Thank you so much for your message! I am very familiar with Ogden, but even 30 minutes away feels like a neighbor 😊 Take care and thanks for reaching out!

    Your plants survived pretty great through winter. Here in zone 9a the azalea bushes have already Bloomed and dropped all the flowers towards the middle of last month. I know you have plans for your topical garden to be tropical, but I can't help but think of how a Tea Olive shrub or shrubs would go great along the fence. If you've ever smelled a tea olive shrub you would literally fall in love

    • @mycarolinagarden
      @mycarolinagarden  9 месяцев назад +1

      Luckily I filmed this when I did, because the wind took all the flowers off the azalea this past weekend. What a bummer. Yes!! I have a note to find a Tea Olive shrub. If it smells that good, I can imagine how pleasant it would be to have that scent blowing on the breeze by the lounge chairs 😎

    Nicole, I love your garden. Your zone allows you to have more of a variety to plant. I am in zone 6B. Our weather can go from cold to hot then back to cold.
    Thanks for sharing. See you next time.❤❤❤

    Great garden. You also present things in an interesting educational manner. I also like to propagate my plants. You should try the no dig way of preparing the new bed near the pool. I am looking forward to future episodes.

    Those rocks are fabulous, what a nice statement piece! 👍🏻 I was about to get all upset with you on the ‘Amethyst Falls’, but yay, you got the Native American species…well done! I simply love your talent in having a garden change from spring pink ground covers into a joyous chorus of yellow for the summer….WOW. I love me some sedum…..what a reliable performer! I’m in the Raleigh area and I respect sedum’s ability to tolerate sun and heat. I think you have a Drift Rose? I have 5 planted on a slope. They have a mounding growth habit and they “drift” in and out of bloom from late April to Nov here in zone 8a. I trim them in late winter (once) and then toss some Espoma Rosetone around there 1-3x per year. Just a delightful collection of color for many months. Ah, gardening. ❤🌸🌻🐝 I can’t believe you have a late-summer-blooming coneflower coming into flower NOW. That’s magic.🤷🏻‍♀

      @mycarolinagarden  9 месяцев назад +1

      You are so sweet and knowledgeable, and I appreciate both so much! "Reliable performer" - fabulous description for sedum! Yes, the rose is a Drift!
      Gardening is so fulfilling. It's a labor of love, but so rewarding and worth all the work. I hope you have an awesome gardening season in the Raleigh area! 💚

    The new improvements look great!!❤ I didn't think to mention that laying plastic down and then putting the rocks on top would better help the grass from growing and popping through the rocks. Another improvement that I think will looks great is to use 8x4x2 concrete red pavers along the border between the mulch and rock would make the layout pop. Thank you for sharing!!

    • @mycarolinagarden
      @mycarolinagarden  9 месяцев назад +1

      And thank you! ☺
      You're so right about the red paving stones making an impact. I used these because I already had them, but one never knows what will change as I do the area behind the pool 😁😁
      💚🌺 Thanks again!

    Hi, where & how do you plant your creeping phlox so that it cascades over & around the rocks?

    • @mycarolinagarden
      @mycarolinagarden  9 месяцев назад

      Hi! Just planting it near the rocks is enough - it finds its way up them and cascades on its own. Such a dream! 💚
