Not gonna lie, their songs are seriously great, loved playing them on bass. Their ED's are better than the OP's imo. Watch them! Edit: Answer to yr question: Yes the VA's sing all the songs.
OMG K-ON ??? YOU NEED TO REACT TO THE ENDINGS !!!!! I love this anime so much, thank you for reacting to his openings, it really made my day ❤ Btw, in 2011, K-ON! became the first franchise to exceed 500,000 Blu-ray sales. Oh and this anime saved the economy of a little town named Toyosato. K-On! is a "cute girls doing cute things" type of anime. Literally what it says. And like you said this is a fully nice and heartwarming anime. And for the slice of life genre, an anime can be slice of life and also have drama, sad moments, etc... Annd for my recommendations, I'd love to see you reacting to Hyouka openings ! (same studio that did K-On!)
The Elementary School that the High School in K-ON is modeled after was set to be torn down at some point, but has become such a tourist destination thanks to this anime, that they kept it up and use it for other things now!
@G.O.T Games you should rrreally react to them. My favs. Also, openings are more cheerful reflecting their younger selfs in school while endings are like the more mature version of them in college so it's an amazing thing
@@GOTGames if you like singing cast of any anime shows. then anime produced by the animation studio kyoani have all their cast sing either the opening or ending. just find a list of anime kyoani produced and put them on queue for your first time reacting.
K-ON is quite an old show at this point, many consiser it to be the first to really pioneer the "Cute girls doing [insert subject] things" genre- in this case 'Cute Girls doing cute music club things.' The show is a fan favourite for many people. A neat thing I'd like to point out is that all the OP songs are sung by the Character Yui, the girl on guitar. And all the EDs are sung by Mio the girl on bass with the long black hair. Which yes you should definitely react to.
and then, everything changed when other authors made "cute girl doing murder things" "cute girl doing psychopath things" "cute girl doing zombie apocalypse things" and many 😅
Back in 2010 when K-ON dropped, it caused a massive boom in Japan with students picking up instruments and learning music to become a band. Really was an incredible series.
Not only did the VAs sing all the songs in the show, including the openings and closing, they did a live concert and learned to play there instruments for it. You should defiantly check in it out.
@@TJ_Kat i know of one instance where they played their own instruments and you could tell. it was a very simple and slow melody. in all other cases they were just pretending with the actual band being in the background. at least they sang live^^
@@GOTGames A clip for one of the more recognizable songs- and the one they play themselves!: ruclips.net/video/wdbuiGlvsdU/видео.html&ab_channel=MrMansone . Note that the voice actress for Mio is NOT left handed, so her learning to play the left handed bass as a righty is even more impressive. Also, I was looking for it in other comments, but I didn't see the explanation (unless I just didn't go far enough), so.... (MINOR SPOILER ALERT) Azusa Nakano (Azu-nyan) wasn't part of the band initially. The original opening only had four, because there were only the four (Yui Hirasawa, Tsumugi Kotobuki, Mio Akiyama, Ritsu Tainaka). Azusa joined partway through the first season; she's a year behind the others. Once she joined, they edited the opening to include her, and the rest of the openings included her after that. She's also not in the season one ending for the same reason.
This was one of those anime that I could rewatch multiple times without getting bored of it, used to do it every 2 years or so. Happy fun and overall just gud vibes throughout the anime, it's one of those anime you watch while chilling on the couch. Gonna go rewatch it since you triggered my nostalgia
K-On! has probably my favorite collection of Endings in any show i've watched imo. The OPs are not bad, but the EDs are next level. Would really like to see your reaction to them.
K-On is a 2009 anime by Kyoto Animation (one of the animation studios with the VERY BEST animation out there, even before Ufotable started using the special effects on their animation) Basically, its about 5 teenage highschool girls making a band and joining the light music club (Keion-bu... K-On). Its a very simple story, with a lot of music and not a lot of drama. The music in it takes quite a bit of inspiration on the 2000's English pop scene, and has a lot of references to England and english musicians (even the movie that marks the end of the series takes place in London). I would say that this one is one for you to watch on your own, since the music of this anime is heavely copyrighted. PD: And yes, slice of life refers to just a story where there is not a lot of drama (if nothing at all) and just showcases a bunch of daily life situations.
Kei-On is definitely part of the slice of life genre. Slice of life is a type of show where we usually follow a cast of characters through their day to day life. Closest in western media would be probably sitcoms, but the vibe is a bit different. Some people hate it, but a lot of people love it. You just have to watch a few to know where you stand. It is hard to put into words what makes Kei-on so good, but it is a classic for a reason. Under the direction of legendary director Naoko Yamada, her speciality is portraying emotion trough animation (especially with her signature leg shots), it can suck you into its world and lighten your mood every time. You should give it a watch, it's possible you won't really care for it, but it can also open up a huge special world you never knew about.
K-on is my favourite of all time. The happy vibes and characters teach you how you can enjoy every little things in life. Its a proper Slice of life anime and the endings are great, please do react to them.
You should definitely check out the endings. If you thought the openings are bangers, the endings will blow you away!!! BTW many people compared Bocchi the Rock with K-ON when it was released. Well, they are both about high school girls together in a band, but that's it with the similarities. But both shows are amazing on their own!
The openings feature Toyosaki Aki who plays Yui in the show, and you might recognise her voice as Yunyun from Konosuba. The endings are sung by the fantastic Hikasa Yoko, her voice is incredible, not to detract from Toyosaki Aki, her voice is amazing as well. I would also recommend checking out the songs written "in anime" by the light music club members, they are really fun and bouncy as well. And yes, you should watch this show at some point.
Yeah, you probably should react to the endings. They contrast so well with the openings and, honestly, the endings songs are bangers. The bassist girl is the singer for the endings and she nailed it all of them.
Another good one where cast sings openings are ofc monogatari openings. Funfact: It's made by the same studio as Madoka Magica, and monogatari series is an iconic and most popular anime of this studio (which is Shaft btw).
Yes K-ON! I loved this anime. One of the OG music animes (one of my favourites). Since we're down here already, I recommend the song Tenshi ni Furetayo, an insert song from this anime. Brings me to tears everytime I listen to it especially knowing the lyrics and context.
@@miztyck6335 I do too but again one can't get the meaning of that song if not watching the anime since it's the last song, that said I cry everytime when I listen to it
Music anime is a whole genre!! There's a lot out there. Rock, pop, jazz, classical, oriental, I recommend Kids on the Slope. It's a Jazz-inspired show set in 1960s Japan. The movements are so fluid and the instruments are all animated correctly
K-On! Is my favorite Anime of all time. It is just a feel good light hearted show. And yes the voice actors also do the singing. They even went so far as to learn how to play and went on tour. The show has no violence or swearing. No action or suspense. Just a group of high school girls and the light music club. And their band After School -Tea Time. Their most popular song is called Fuwa Fuwa Time.
My fav Slice of Life ever The endings are so good too and has some of the best songs of all time The artist for the openings is the VA of the protagonist (guitarrist) and for the endings is the VA of the basist
Speaking of cast members singing OP/EDs, one of my favorite VAs is Ríe Takahashi. She appears in many anime, and often sings in some of their ED/OPs. You may know her as Megumin from KonoSuba, where she sings with the other cast members in the EDs for each season, the movie, and the spin-off. She also sings Stay Alive for one of the EDs to Re:Zero’s first season. She sings various songs for each episode of Teasing Master Takagi-san’s three seasons and movie. Each of the girls in One Room sing an ED, and she sings her arc in the second season. She sings the main ED with other cast members for Tomo-chan is a Girl. While she doesn’t sing either OP or ED in Oshi no Ko, she does sing several insert songs in the first episode.
This anime is a classic, it basically just is a chill show about a band hanging out and having fun, and yeh the cast is singing. It was one of the biggest shows in the "cute girls doing cute things" genre. You should check out the endings, they're really iconic, especially Don't Say Lazy.
K-On is like the great great grandmother of Bochi the Rock. It is literally one of the first if not the first slice of life anime featuring high school characters starting a band.
The ed to this show are even better, they are made more like music videos. There is actually 4 of them if you include the movie but the movies opening is more fun than anything else. This show is one where you can watch over and over and not get tired of it and actually they have so many songs that are good besides the op and Ed's. Most these productions actually require voice actors to know singing and learning of the instruments to form groups for live shows forming htt on this show. So they are actually singing and playing these songs besides voicing the characters. This show was a such a hit it gave rise to the genre. You definately should watch Ed's but the show, it's very enjoyable and refreshing.
Yeah lazy great. I actually got the history box set, has over 12 CDs in it. Even though 3 cds are over sounds effects for the show, I realized the amount of sound and music they put into this show.
*K-ON was an incredible adaptation!* Kyoto Animation did an unbelievable good job adapting a 4-koma manga into a linear 20-minute episodes anime series (4-koma are comic strips with only 4 boxes. K-ON's manga is literally a collection of comic strips). Two of the endings were part of my first anime song playlist. And that's only because the third one, my favorite of the three, didn't exist yet. They are really good! And, of course, all songs in the anime and openings are sung by the cast. *The endings are sung by the basist.*
If I remember correctly, Go Go Maniac was the first song in Japan to be the most popular song from a band that wasn't a real band. K-on as a series pioneered Moe genre anime. I'm not sure exactly why it works so well, but I think a big thing is that you get to be part of a girl's friend group without feeling awkward or having your gender or social skills get in the way of the good vibes. These characters are just going through life and generally having a good time. In fact, my dad enjoyed this anime more than a certain Superman Movie that came out around the same time. He didn't understand why Kon (high school girls) could be better than Superman. The school that they go to is based on a real school, and there's even a parody on youtube where people act out the first opening at the school (with bizarre masks on of course). There are the critics of this anime of course. There's no real fanservice, the girls don't really do much that's exciting or interesting, and some people just found this boring; but for me, I just enjoy the girlish energy of goofing off and having fun with one another. It's not something I get to experience in my life as a male, and I really think it's just that simple as to what made this anime such a hit in Japan - you just feel good from the happy and cute energy, and it's a treat that guys don't usually get to feel because just being a guy is an obstacle to being able to experience what these girls experience in real life.
1, the first 4 members are on the same year and the last one was their junior, 2, the difference in the opening that they reused was the lead guitar/5th member was added in, visually and sounds too, 3, the story is happy school days, but like all school days, those happy moments will be a challenge to let go in the end, it will hit hard, 4, they did live concert, 5, their personality lind of like Band maid, 6, you should watch their movie where they went to London,
Ah yes K-On, it's about a highschool girl band. It's great anime. What make it's more amazing, 5 main girl Voice Actress can performed all opening and ending, including the instrument. And yes it has K-On Music Album and K-On Music Concert performed by the Voice Actress.
K-On is a slice of life that people commonly refer to as “cute girls doing cute things,” in this case forming a light music school club. I laughed that you notice the second opening has 5 members in some parts, but never really caught on that they added a new club member mid season.
K-ON! Is arguably the first CGDCT anime. Cute Girls Doing Cute Things. Its literally a slice of life anime about a group of girls in their school's K-ON (light, or popular music club) and the band they form. Although they probably spend more time eating snacks and playing around than playing in a band. You're correct in the Voice Actresses having sung the songs! They even all learned their characters instruments (very, very basically. They still had a backing band doing the majority of the work) , and toured in Japan! The Endings are all more sung by Mio, the bassist, and have a different vibe than anything sung by Yui, who is singing these openings. K-ON is a fantastic pallette cleanser after watching a more intense anime. It's Light and Fluffy, and goes well with a side of Rice.
I'd argue the first was Azumanga Diaoh, since that's the series that propagated all of the 4-koma comics with no particular plot where a bunch of cute girls just do mundane things. Lucky Star, Ichigo Marshmallow, K-on, every Kirara comic (Bocchi the Rock), ect all spawned directly from Azumanga. K-on mainly started the era where the girls were in some kind of random club/group.
For me in this anime the endings are much better than the openings, especially the first ending Don't say 'lazy' and the third ending NO,Thank You! I recommend catching up because I feel Luke that you will think the same once you check them out. Actually, you could also pick up the openings and endings of music anime like Kids on the Slope, Nana, Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song, Beck, Nodame Cantabile, Sound! Euphonium and many others. My 10 recommendations for reaction to anime openings and endings: - Ranking of Kings 1 opening & 3 endings - Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin (ENG title: Rainbow) 1 opening & 1 ending - Barakamon 1 opening & 1 ending - Bakuman 4 openings & 6 endings - Yakusoku no Neverland (ENG title: The Promised Neverland) 2 openings & 3 endings - D.Gray Man 9 endings - Golden Kamuy 4 endings - Ajin (ENG title: Ajin: Demi-Human) 3 openings & 2 endings - Beelzebub 5 openings & 6 endings - Shingeki no Bahamut (ENG title: Rage of Bahamut) 3 openings & 4 endings (1st season subtitled "Genesis" has 1 opening & 2 endings, 2nd season "Virgin Soul" has 2 openings & 2 endings)
Another god tier music anime is Sound! Euphonium, also by Kyoto Animation, and it's about ensemble band. K-On! was actually the director's (Naoko Yamada) first work at 24 years old, and she's the series director on Euphonium (and directed the spinoff movie after Season 2 called Liz and the Blue Bird)
K-On!! is my go-to Feel-Good-Anime. It's about music, but at the same time not thaaat much xD The voice actresses even had a biiiig concert with a Babymetal sized Crowd. Most songs they just pretended to play the instruments, but they learned 2-3 songs on their Anime-Instruments where they really play. Japanese VA's are on a different level.
K-ON is the legendary anime, love the opening and the ending. I recommend you check out The World God Only Knows All 3 Opening. The music for The World God Only Knows is like made in heaven. The ending is also good, it's really good anime and there is nothing like it in this past years.
Omg I get so nostalgic from this anime. It's only been a couple years since I watched it but it reminds me so strongly of the time when I just got into anime
K-On is one of those shows that are just “cute girls doing cute things” and I LOVE it. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve watched it all the way through (including the movie) 4 separate times.
This totally opens the door to the entire genre of Cast Singing OPs. Love Live obviously. Assassination Classroom too. Also K-On was literally on their music charts at the time
K-On is one of the OGs in music genre, i think maybe the first of its kind... I remember downloading the full anime tracklist to my phone back then and just jamming all day long, I still have some of those right now hahaha
I love k-on so much. It reminds me how much fun it was to be part of a band every time. Definitely slice of life, just cute girls doing cute things. Does get mildly dramatic in the second season but never really loses the wackiness.
I am so glad K-On was requested and reacted to. The ending should DEFINITELY be next. You definitely need to make this one of your nwxt long anime series and movies to watch. You will not be disappointed, and will not stop smiling for a month. As well as several of the in anime series songs. Starting woth Happy!Sorry, Tsubasa wo Kudasai (love me tender), Maddy Candy, Hikari, Curry Nochi rice, Unmei wa Endless, and Temshi ni Fureta yo! However... the songs that are a must losten and are non-negotiable are Fuwa Fuwa Time, My Love is a stapler, Fude pen Boru pen, Rice is a side dish, and lastly U&I. (Lastly, wanted to reccomend an Idol anime called Love Live. The music in that goes banger hard and will have you dancing nonstop)
2:30 That's exactly what the show does by itself. It just makes your mood brighten a lot. I just couldn't stop smiling while watching it. Absolutely love K-ON and really recommend it to anyone who needs a bit of uplifting
ah yes k-on, my middleschool hyperfixation hahah. i swear i watched the anime like 3 times and read the manga over and over, i still have it up on my shelf 12 years later!
everytime i listening the last K-on opening i remembered when the audience sing along "daisuki~ daisuki~ daisuki wo arigatou" in their live concert and Mio's VA (Yoko Hisaka) teared up, it makes me feels emotional whenever the song hit that part :')
K-ON is about happiness, especially about finding it. As a show it can be bit melancholic at times but always about power of friendship. And please do the endings too,.
Yes, the "slice of life" genre is about having characters showcasing aspects of a certain lifestyle, skillset, setting, etc. A common sub-genre within that is CGDCT, i.e. "Cute Girls Doing Cute Things" where (usually) the cast is 100% female (e.g. K-ON, New Game!). My favorite slice of life is definitely Ascendance of a Bookworm. It's so heartwarming and interesting, but also develops its characters and worldbuilding REALLY well to the point that it dips its toe into other genres too. You'd have a great time reacting to it.
Bocchi the Rock was basically "What if we did K-On again, but this time gave one of the character's crippling social anxiety? The 2nd opening sees the introduction of a new guitarist (the girl with pigtails) as the original cast enter their 2nd year of high school and a new 1st year girl joins the club. Many of the "outdoor" scenes still only show the original 4 because they couldn't find good ways to force Azusa in, but she was added in for all the instrumental parts. The 2nd version of the song also has her electric guitar added to the mix.
The voice for the lead character Yui (the one singing all the OP songs) actually joined 3 other VAs and created a musical group called 'Sphere' after K-On was so successful. Their music was also used for some anime! I look forward to seeing you react to the ED's the story of the group is loosely told by the OP/ED. In the OP they are up-and-coming fun-loving after school girls. The ED is more like finished-product rock stars. I love the contrast!
I haven’t watched an all girls anime in ages, or a school anime in almost as long, but I might watch K-ON again some day. It’s just so nice and fun and the music is so free and fun.
Man, after 10+ years of watching anime, K-On! is still my favorite of all time. KyoAni did such a good job adapting the manga. I read the manga afterwards but it doesn’t compare.
I love how Yui's songs are fast, poppy, and frantic (matching her character perfectly) while Mio's have a completely different rock mixed slight punk vibes (which is so different than her character).
Slice of Life indeed is just what it describes, however with the ups and downs of regular life, so it's not like there never is any tension. (most often misunderstandings, which I very recently found out makes a lot more sense in Japanese by how the language is spoken (often subject and/or object in the sentence are assumed by context, with occasionally varying accuracy)) There also are a lot of music animes, though they differ by genre, many idol animes, some (marching- /rock-) bands, very few classical, one DJ that I'm familiar with... The animation studio of K-on (Kyoto animation) is at least in the circles I frequent known as a studio with very few misses (aka they tend to deliver good-great animes) unfortunately their animation studio was subject to an arson attack a couple years back, with some lives claimed. They have been able to produce a sequel to one of their animes last animeseason (tsurune an anime about traditonal japanese archery), so it seems like they have been able to somewhat recover. I think K-On is a good start with Slice of Life animes, so I'd recommend it as a starter, "Flying Witch" is one of my favourites, it's down to earth slice of life with magic? As a random niche recommendation for football* anime I'd recommend "Giant Killing" for example (there are more well known ones, but I personally like it because we're not following the story of a young boy being or getting great at football, though those exist if preferred). *soccer to US Another two anime to get to know some of the inner workings of the anime related industries in an entertaining way would be "Bakuman" (manga artists) and "Shirobako" (Voice Actress).
Best music anime ever! there is nothing bad or sad about this anime. You just have a shitty good time with it and end up being very, very wistful because it's over. It's so wholesome, funny and just perfect! absolute recommendation! my anime number one! And yes: The voiceactors are singing every song. Everyone of them! And they give concerts a couple of years ago as the band Ho-kago Tea Time as they called their band in the anime.
uh yes, my childhood, the OG cute girl doing cool music stuff anime, kyoto animation's gem, PLEASE REACT TO MORE SONGS! THEY HAVE FULL ALBUMS OF THEM AND THEY'RE HELLA AWESOME. The anime is also crazy good with 2 seasons and 1 movie, please react to them as I think you'll have a hella great time with all the positive energy in this anime!
Man, this hit me right in the nostalgia, this anime is one of my favorites, Totally recommended, it's a wonderful story of a girl group that creates a band at school, zero drama, zero fights, just sit back and enjoy chapters that fill your heart with joy. And yeah, yoou really should react to the endings, they are fire!!!
You got it right, this is a wholesome and happy anime, it's all a positive ride. Each episode won't fail to put a smile on your face. Also no, Slice of life is not no-drama anime, its tells you that the anime will take you through different stages of the life of main characters, for example some cases are from 1st high school year until graduation, others even go beyond that going from middle school up to kids and post university/parent life.
Definitely watch the EDs. They're so good they regularly make it pretty far in voting tourneys that various anime communities like to do. And they're very interesting as music vids as well. The studio that made K-on!, Kyoto Animation (often shortened as KyoAni), just generally make good OPs and EDs, usually make ok/decent anime at worst, and they are, imo, amazing at movies.
If you want to listen to more voice actors singing/playing instruments as a band, then I would highly recommend the Bang! Dream project. Two of their bands 'Poppin' Party' and 'Roselia' are real voice actors doing real musics and performing in real live shows.
The music for the series wasn't created by the VA's. However, they did do a concert in which they learned to play the instruments and learned a small selection of the songs the band played so they could play them for real. This included Mio's VA learning to play the Bass left-handed despite herself being right-handed (because Mio is left-handed).
K-On is just a positivity and cuteness bomb slice-of-life anime. And yes, definitely check out the endings - they have a completely different vibe but are also sung by the cast.
Some voice actors who do voice acting in anime used to be or are still singers or Idols , some have singing backgrounds and some just have good natural singing voices.
The best cute girls doing cute things™ show ever made. A huge culture influencer, going so far as inspiring tons of Japanese school girls to start or join music clubs. Mio is best girl.
if you want another anime where the cast sings the songs "Monogatari": "Bakemonogatari", "Nisemonogatari", "Kizumonogatari", "Nekomonogatari Black", "Nekomonogatari White", "Kabukimonogatari", "Hanamonogatari", "Otorimonogatari", "Onimonogatari", "Koimonogatari", "Tsukimonogatari", "Koyomimonogatari", "Owarimonogatari 1", "Owarimonogatari 2", and "Zuko Owarimonogatari" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Monogatari_episodes#Series_overview
Oh how I love K-On. It's a very bubbly and happy anime. You'll fall in love with the characters and you're sure to laugh at their antics. It really feels like high school, just having fun with your friends. The music from K-On are really good, the character songs and the insert song. As for music anime there are tons. One of my favorite is the Bang Dream. The bands featured in that anime also has their own live concerts, the VAs learned their instruments and play in front of a live audience. Also from the same company, D4DJ is also a good music anime, its on a similar vein but instead of Bands, the story revolves around DJ units. Your Lie in April is also one of my recommendation. I don't know if you already watched it as I often miss out on the live streams. Beck is also a fun watch, it's almost like K-On only with dudes.
Oh boy. This was truly a gem of a show. Theres quite a bit of OST and character inserts in their catalog. And then there's whatever you can get from the MOVIE OST... Oh and let's not forget MADDY CANDY.😈
Let's gooooo, this is what I've been waiting and you should definitely listen to the endings, they're even better, oh and actually there's one more opening that is from the movie. Also K-On is basically a pioneer of the moe genre and when it first aired broke a lot of records. Btw in the openigs the one singing is Yui (the protagonist) and in the endings the one singing is Mio (one of the member of the band), that's because both of them are vocalists of the band in the show.
Since, you asked, yes, you could buy K-On CDs (might be kind of hard to find now since it’s a pretty old show). They actually released two or three full albums worth of music and multiple singles albums all in character for the show’s band, all really high quality, some featuring vocal performances from character voice actresses who don’t even sing in the show. It was some of my favorite anime music back in the day. K-On is definitely an example of Slice of Life anime. It’s a different pace from a lot of other genres. Slice of Life is very popular in Japan, but often is somewhat underrated in the west. K-On, I think possibly in large part due to the music, was good enough to break through back in the day and achieve popularity among anime fans worldwide. Slice of Life is personally my favorite genre though and K-On is honestly a pretty good starting point if you’re curious to see how you’d like the genre. Another great music anime franchise with openings for sure worth checking out is Love Live!. A bit unsure how rough it is on copyright though. Also, as everyone else is saying the endings for K-On are for sure worth doing; some of them are more iconic than the openings even, and since they’re from the point of view of a different character in the band, they have a very different feel to them then the openings.
This is a surprise! :O K-ON! Openings reaction! Yes! React to the Endings too! And the Anime is really indeed a Slice of Life genre Anime where you just follow the girls in their daily life with the band. Purely Comedy, Slice of Life and Music! The Main Girl is Yui who as character plays the Guitar and vocal, is indeed singing the Opening songs while the Bassist is the one who sings the Endings. The Voice Actresses are singing indeed. Sadly the Voice Actresses aren't exactly the real ones who plays the instruments, just the vocal singing. However during a special Live Concert where they sing the songs form the Anime, they did actually practice a few songs themselves to actually play during that live concert despite non of them having much if not any experience with instruments. As for which does, BanG Dream! has several bands who have their Voice Actresses actually play the Instruments as in the Anime (Not all bands but most do, and the newer released Bands do as well). This Anime is also about Bands and they have even more songs than K-ON!. Next to that there are also "Idol" Anime where the Voice Actresses are singing as their character, like Love Live!, The iDOLM@STERS, AKB0048, 22/7, IDOLY PRIDE, Healer Girl, CUE! (AiRBLUE and DIALOGUE+) and more. There are also Male Idols versions like IDOLiSH7, UtaPri, The iDOLM@STERS: Side-M and more. Going back to K-ON!, Now you've reacted to Violet Evergarden, Koe no Katachi, Kobayashi no Meidoragon and K-ON!, you should complete the KyoAni Anime by reacting to the songs for Clannad, Air TV, Kanon (2006), Hibike! Euphonium, Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai! (EN: Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions!) , Kyoukai no Kanata (EN: Beyond the Boundary), Hyouka, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (EN: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya), Nichijou, Amagi Brilliant Park, Musaigen no Phantom World (EN: Myriad Colors Phantom World), Tamako Market, Full Metal Panic, Free!, Tsurune and Munto.
Wake Up Girls if you want a more "realistic" idol series with generous amounts of suffering sprinkled around. My personal favorite in this genre. Pretty much every song is a 10/10. (order: first movie, season 1, next 2 movies, season 2)
I literally was watching videos of how to play one of the songs and this recommendation video came up 😆 I can't believe it just came out a little while ago
From musical anime, I can remember Detroit Metal City, a pretty old anime about a guy who came to Tokyo to study with a dream to play light pop music, which he loves so much. But he ends up in the death metal band Detroit Metal City, where he becomes a soloist - Krauser. Since then, the teenager has two personalities that are radically different from each other. This is a pure comedy, where the main character tries to combine the life of a quiet, calm guy, brought up on the principles of respect for everyone around him, with the stage image of a real psycho who sings about murder and violence. I can recommend watching it at least for yourself, because it's really a very funny and somewhat trashy anime, in which you can see a much deeper meanings. I also remember the anime Parigi Koumei with a veeeery catchy opening. Seriously, it is impossible to remain indifferent to this opening. The anime itself is about a brilliant Chinese strategist from the time of the Three Kingdoms, who found himself after his death in modern Tokyo and meets a girl singer whose voice shocks and delights him, so he offers her to become her manager. The anime is good, it's interesting to watch how the strategist Kunmin uses strategies developed for war to help the girl gain fame

Luke! K-On is VERY cute! After watching a sad anime you can watch this for dose of wholesomeness!
Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!
The best songs from K-on is Endings!! Especially ED1 from 1 season. Its amazing!
Fruits basket op and genshin demo reaction pls
Not gonna lie, their songs are seriously great, loved playing them on bass.
Their ED's are better than the OP's imo. Watch them!
Edit: Answer to yr question: Yes the VA's sing all the songs.
Should add "a virgin with two kids" nest to "new anime fan" ;)
OMG K-ON ???
YOU NEED TO REACT TO THE ENDINGS !!!!!
I love this anime so much, thank you for reacting to his openings, it really made my day ❤
Btw, in 2011, K-ON! became the first franchise to exceed 500,000 Blu-ray sales.
(same studio that did K-On!)
yea for real cause i like the first ending the most of all the songs.
The Elementary School that the High School in K-ON is modeled after was set to be torn down at some point, but has become such a tourist destination thanks to this anime, that they kept it up and use it for other things now!
"Cute girls doing cute things", it's called "moeblob".
in this anime ending are far batter then opening.
wow I'm surprised you'll mention hyouka. Even though it's been 11 years I'm glad there are still people who like this anime.
Yes. Both the opening and Endings of this anime are all sung by the VA's. It is a very feel-good slice of life anime that puts you in a good mood.
The endings I've heard are just as amazing! We'll check them out 💯
@G.O.T Games you should rrreally react to them.
@@GOTGames Haha... still waiting on the endings.... XD
Which yes you should definitely react to.
and then, everything changed when other authors made "cute girl doing murder things" "cute girl doing psychopath things" "cute girl doing zombie apocalypse things" and many 😅
@@Luxius. Cute girls doing zombie apocalypse things is the best !!!🤣
So cute...

Back in 2010 when K-ON dropped, it caused a massive boom in Japan with students picking up instruments and learning music to become a band. Really was an incredible series.
Have any popular bands resulted from this?
@@IxyCrystal I don't know any who credited it haha but I do remember it being a massive upswing in sales in Japan for instruments for students
One i know who is famous is Bandmaid. They originally just want to become happy go long maid band, but ended become hard rock instead, so amusing lol
I got into guitar a little bit and bass a whole bunch, both thanks to K-On!
@@tamatamappithere's actually a video you can find out there, of a young Kobato Miku, before Band-Maid, singing a song from K-ON
Not only did the VAs sing all the songs in the show, including the openings and closing, they did a live concert and learned to play there instruments for it. You should defiantly check in it out.
They are most definitely NOT playing the instruments during the live concerts.
@@TJ_Kat i know of one instance where they played their own instruments and you could tell. it was a very simple and slow melody. in all other cases they were just pretending with the actual band being in the background. at least they sang live^^
They did a live concert?????
@@GOTGames multiple, yes. though theyre pretty hard to find nowadays
(MINOR SPOILER ALERT)
Azusa Nakano (Azu-nyan) wasn't part of the band initially.
I hope you listen to the endings as well. Both OPs and EDs are bangers and nostalgic to us.
Definitely will be 💯❤️
This was one of those anime that I could rewatch multiple times without getting bored of it, used to do it every 2 years or so. Happy fun and overall just gud vibes throughout the anime, it's one of those anime you watch while chilling on the couch. Gonna go rewatch it since you triggered my nostalgia
I've only heard good things about this one 💯❤️
K-On! has probably my favorite collection of Endings in any show i've watched imo. The OPs are not bad, but the EDs are next level. Would really like to see your reaction to them.
Everyone says the endings are amazing! ❤️
K-On is a 2009 anime by Kyoto Animation (one of the animation studios with the VERY BEST animation out there, even before Ufotable started using the special effects on their animation)
Basically, its about 5 teenage highschool girls making a band and joining the light music club (Keion-bu...
PD: And yes, slice of life refers to just a story where there is not a lot of drama (if nothing at all) and just showcases a bunch of daily life situations.
isn't it more about eating cake and raising a turtle ? :P
@@kokodin5895 and girls with penguin legs, yes
100% checking out the endings soon 💯💯
I will 100% check them out as well
K-on is the most chill anime you can find , its calming to watch it after a tiring day
Another good one where cast sings openings are ofc monogatari openings. Funfact: It's made by the same studio as Madoka Magica, and monogatari series is an iconic and most popular anime of this studio (which is Shaft btw).
I'd say monogatari series is the most popular anime from shaft
@@PHOS-sk2dh Yes, it indeed is, that's what I mean.
Yes K-ON! I loved this anime. One of the OG music animes (one of my favourites). Since we're down here already, I recommend the song Tenshi ni Furetayo, an insert song from this anime. Brings me to tears everytime I listen to it especially knowing the lyrics and context.
It's better to listen that one while watching the anime then it hits because of the context
He should really check that one, love it!!!
@@miztyck6335 I do too but again one can't get the meaning of that song if not watching the anime since it's the last song, that said I cry everytime when I listen to it
@@xyznature6738 Same, but true without context it's not that good
man I cried when Okakoro did a U and I cover
My fav Slice of Life ever
The endings are so good too and has some of the best songs of all time
The artist for the openings is the VA of the protagonist (guitarrist) and for the endings is the VA of the basist
Ah, the nostalgia. Definitely react to the endings and insert songs too!
I will make sure to check out the endings too 💯
The 2nd version added 1 more character, Azusa into the video after she joined their club in the anime
Don’t Say Lazy was on my Burnout Paradise playlist.
1, the first 4 members are on the same year and the last one was their junior,
2, the difference in the opening that they reused was the lead guitar/5th member was added in, visually and sounds too,
3, the story is happy school days, but like all school days, those happy moments will be a challenge to let go in the end, it will hit hard,
4, they did live concert,
5, their personality lind of like Band maid,
6, you should watch their movie where they went to London,
Ah yes K-On, it's about a highschool girl band.
@@TheLordTash that's why I said arguably!
I do love Azumanga Daioh too. We should get him to watch that opening someday.
My 10 recommendations for reaction to anime openings and endings:
- Ranking of Kings 1 opening & 3 endings
- Rainbow: Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin (ENG title: Rainbow) 1 opening & 1 ending
- Barakamon 1 opening & 1 ending
- Bakuman 4 openings & 6 endings
- Yakusoku no Neverland (ENG title: The Promised Neverland) 2 openings & 3 endings
- D.Gray Man 9 endings
- Golden Kamuy 4 endings
- Ajin (ENG title: Ajin: Demi-Human) 3 openings & 2 endings
- Beelzebub 5 openings & 6 endings
- Shingeki no Bahamut (ENG title: Rage of Bahamut) 3 openings & 4 endings (1st season subtitled "Genesis" has 1 opening & 2 endings, 2nd season "Virgin Soul" has 2 openings & 2 endings)
It's about music, but at the same time not thaaat much xD
The voice actresses even had a biiiig concert with a Babymetal sized Crowd.
The synopsis for K-On is incredible short and sweet: Be Cute, Drink Tea, Do Music.
K-On is one of those shows that are just “cute girls doing cute things” and I LOVE it. I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve watched it all the way through (including the movie) 4 separate times.
Yes, the VA sang them.
And yes, K-on just a happy anime to keep your stress away. I've watched it like seven times, especially when feeling down.
Yes, a lot of voice actors in japan are idols, so that explain why they can sing
Thanks for reacting to the OPs.
More people need to react to this anime, it's so good. Just a feel-good classic.
1:20 Yes, they are singing the song. the cast sings all the songs in K-On not just openings and endings but all the songs.
00:23 "...let me know if you want to check out the endings..."
Yes, please... 😁👍👍
Whenever I stressed out, I will always watch short video of K-On. Never fail to calm me down and let me enjoy the life again
K-on is adorable, and the characters are so fun. The endings are also absolutely amazing! They're like mini music videos :)
Also I didn't realise you'd watched Spirited Away. That's great, it's my favourite film :)
K-On IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY CUTE! WATCH IT FIR WHOLESOMENESS!
Please do anime opening quiz I'd love to see you do it
yes! thatd be fun and i think luke has seen about enough to do it now
Wow watching this bring back so many memories.
OMG YES PLEASE REACT TO THE ENDINGS TOO! It is indeed an anime about a band and its members and they also have created a whole album!
2:30
That's exactly what the show does by itself.
K-On is one of the all-time great feel-good series. You should definitely check out the EDs too, they’re absolute fire.
Both Openings and Endings are just GOD-tier, K-On is just a wholesome relax story and my fav of all time!
Man, after 10+ years of watching anime, K-On! is still my favorite of all time. KyoAni did such a good job adapting the manga. I read the manga afterwards but it doesn’t compare.
Mashiro no Oto is another good choice for a music anime.
(most often misunderstandings, which I very recently found out makes a lot more sense in Japanese by how the language is spoken (often subject and/or object in the sentence are assumed by context, with occasionally varying accuracy))
There also are a lot of music animes, though they differ by genre, many idol animes, some (marching- /rock-) bands, very few classical, one DJ that I'm familiar with...
*soccer to US
Another two anime to get to know some of the inner workings of the anime related industries in an entertaining way would be "Bakuman" (manga artists) and "Shirobako" (Voice Actress).
Man i haven't heard K-ON! in over a decade+ man the nostalgia
YES DO THE ENDNGS!!
Man, this hit me right in the nostalgia, this anime is one of my favorites,
Totally recommended, it's a wonderful story of a girl group that creates a band at school, zero drama, zero fights, just sit back and enjoy chapters that fill your heart with joy.
K-ON is one of my fav anime when i first started watching anime in 2012 😆😆
If you want to listen to more voice actors singing/playing instruments as a band, then I would highly recommend the Bang!
OH YES, K-On is one of my favorites animes along Attack on Titan and Clannad, thanks for the reaction:D
K-on mean a lot to me, I even have a tattoo of the series.
I will always remember the joy and how they helped me go through a hard time in my life.
i never thoughts that you would react to K-On Op's, it's so nostalgic that i got tears in my eyes 🥲
if you want another anime where the cast sings the songs "Monogatari": "Bakemonogatari", "Nisemonogatari", "Kizumonogatari", "Nekomonogatari Black", "Nekomonogatari White", "Kabukimonogatari", "Hanamonogatari", "Otorimonogatari", "Onimonogatari", "Koimonogatari", "Tsukimonogatari", "Koyomimonogatari", "Owarimonogatari 1", "Owarimonogatari 2", and "Zuko Owarimonogatari"

I love K-On so much, so cute and wholesome and amazing music
When he was talking about the "classic bassist" look, I was immediately reminded of Haruki from "Given" as the direct contradiction lol
K-on is an anime for manliest man
K-On was the show that popularised the slice of life genre. Very light and nice to watch. It's a 'healing'show that make you feel good.
Excited to see your reaction to the K-ON! Endings
I'd say... THE ENDING SONGS!!! THEY ARE REALLY GOOD!! Specially "Don't Say Lazy" nothing beats that ED song
