A Must Watch (11:00 - 17:29)
11:57 is where it really starts to take off!
Living in music - for the love of music. Do you feel? Like I feel?
don't worry about not having the right words, that's not what a reaction is, that's just commentary. what I just saw was an honest reaction.
you will love "Baby I Love Your Way" by him
Empress is lookin' 🔥!
@@argentokaos2629 Always!
One of the finest guitar players ever to exist, criminally underrated
Yes indeed!
@@PongGod I saw him 2nd row center...great show!
Not sure he’s considered underrated. When this came out, he was the hottest guitar player out there. Changed live music forever with one song! Rest of FCA was pretty good but this was what everyone wanted!
@@PongGod aaaaaaaaaa
Yeah peter is not underrated
That's the sound of 20,000 fans, everyone on their feet and cheering for more! Sends chills down just thinking about it...
Multi intramentalist. Most underrated guitarist. Maestro on the talk box.
If you didn't own a Frampton Comes Alive album in the 70s you were a nobody. Everyone had this album
Im 57 & I still have mine!👍✌️
I'm 62 i still have my vynil Frampton comes alive !!! too
My dad just gave me his copy a few years ago. I'm 31
When you hear the end of the song and the crowd is cheering is the sound of a ROCK STAR.......
I was disappointed when I found out that sound engineers had manipulated the crowd noise back in the studio. But still a great album.
@@bpaakwaan7325 Who told you that? On KISS ALIVE the entire audience was on a loop tape.
@@roquefortfiles When the album was first released, it was reviewed in one of the guitar magazines that I used to subscribe to, (Guitar Player etc, ), and the review included that nugget of information.
@@bpaakwaan7325 It is easily one of the best live recordings ever done. The guitars are amazing. The drums big. I know there were a few fixes here and there. His mic didn't work at the start of one song so they had to fix that. But it is in no way anything like KISS ALIVE which was basically "Frankenlive" I don't really care that they moved around the audience a bit. It is a testament to how tight his band was. I've literally worn out this album on CD.
This song was (and still is) a GAME CHANGER for me 🔥
This is one of the best reaction videos I have ever seen!! You could see the music on her face. Watching her had me grinning for 14 minutes!! Someone needs to send this to Peter! This is one of those pieces of music the world would have been less had it not existed.
Thank you ☺️
"What is that?" - that is Peter's famous 'talkbox', which creates the effect by applying his vocal sounds on to the sound of his excellent guitar playing.
"What is going on?" - Funk is going on :)
Nice reaction, you're cool Empress Joy-Jean.
Thank you Doug 😀
He puts a tube in his mouth... the signal from the guitar is fed into a box, which sends the sound through the tube, and into his mouth.
He then uses his mouth to "shape" the sound, which is picked up by his microphone.
There are videos on RUclips of him using the talkbox, but this performance is the best.
To expand on what Doug said...and for the guitar fans...the "Heil Talk Box" was first heard in popular music on the Joe Walsh song "Rocky Mountain Way" in 1973 - about 2 years before Frampton Cimes Alive. (Joe Walsh is also the man responsible for the epic guitar solo in Hotel California )
Here's how the talk box works:
It's essentially a small amplifier and speaker in a sealed metal housing. The metal casing houses a phenolic diaphragm speaker, powered by the "regular" amplifier's external speaker output. A 6-1/2 foot surgical tube carries the diaphragm speaker's sound to the mouth. The tube end is placed near a vocal mic. By shaping sounds with your mouth, you immediately achieve the "talking" guitar sounds that you've heard on so many hits.
@@markchapel6694 Right. One of my favourite uses is in Manfred Mann's "Don't kill it Carol":
ruclips.net/video/pzT3Mzsmmnk/видео.html
There you can see it used in action. Watch the greenish tube next to the mic.
@@markchapel6694 the tube is blowing air which helps to shape the sound. (I used to have one of my own ). It must be right next to a mic to power the output.
This might be the best reaction I have ever seen.
Same here!!
She really appreciated it. Love when people react like that to a great performance. Peter Frampton is a genius.
talk box-hes got a tube in his mouth that runs through a box and his guitar and as he picks a note on the guitar and talks at the same time to produce the sound. Jeff Beck and Joe Walsh also used them
Steppenwolf used it quite effectively too.
David Gilmour on the Pulse recording also, don't recall which song.
I think it's the most amazing invention in the history of music innovations.
@@kentclark6420 more than a guitar? A synth ? I get your point though lol
@@swfcocs1 I guess I meant added innovations, like effects pedals and so on. Rather than actual musical instruments.
By look on your face , girl you just been Rocked.😁 it's 20 21 Holler at your boy 👽...
I think ppl 100 years from now will still be WTF? with joy about this song.
No doubt about it
I found myself smiling for 17mins and 29 seconds. You make me feel young again.
Peter was/is fabulous in concert, I saw him twice, and he puts on an amazing show!
I saw him 2nd row center!
when i heard this song on the radio for the first time in 1976 it changed my life, it has made me a rock music fan to this day, thanx for your reaction:-))
I was 4 years old and would line up my stuffed animals on the floor, stand on my bed and sing this song into my hockey stick... I can still remember.
Me too mate! Peter Frampton was awesome!
I remember my parents spinning this and the Beatles, Stones and Journey on their record player as a kid. Probably my earliest memory
If you weren't going to air it a tennis racket made a good guitar.
Queen at Live Aid, Joy! Please. One of the best if not THE best rock performance ever.
Great reaction, thank you! I've loved this song since the 70s, amazing masterpiece of music and feeling. It's really a gift from Peter Frampton to all of us.
Frampton - one of the very best!
React to Peter Frampton - Show Me The Way ( Live The Midnight Special 1975 )
"Do You Feel Like We Feel" A COMPLETE rock show in just one 14 minute song! One of my top 5 songs EVER. Yes, a rock masterpiece....Thank you EJJ !!
FULL WAFFLE CAKE!
You didn't have to say a word! Watching your face go through 170 different emotional changes as new elements were introduced to the song was PRICELESS!🤣
I absolutely love your reactions! Too many "reactors" sit and stare at the screen with no reaction at all until the song ends and then tell you how they loved it. You don't have to say a word and I know exactly what you are feeling by your expressions. Fantastic!
Thank you so much for your kind words 😍
@@EMPRESSJOYJEAN Love your reaction,you're a sweet girl ! Take care !
I said it in 79 I say it 2021....Pete Frampton for prez.
WHAT...is really mind-boggling is...How many MORE of these songs will just completely blow your mind. You still have a LOT more mind blowing songs to go!!!
=)
Grandma and Grandpa were WAAAAYYYYY vcooler than you can even imagine! This is the music we grew up with!!!
The sound of guitar notes travels up a tube into his mouth . He uses his mouth to shape , not words , but guitar notes into controlled sounds and words . You are literally listening to his guitar talk .
1976 was a good year! That's 45 years old, your musical discovery will take you well into your 70's.
I was 16 in 1976!
@@juliemanarin4127 Then your taste in music is impeccable. Bob Seger: We got the 18 track tape machine rolling out back, if you sing with me just alittle bit I won't guarantee it but you just might end up on an album! Live Bullet Detroit 1976.
In between last time we came at this time, we managed an album called Houses of the Holy. The Song Remains the Same New York 1976.
Being as humble as possible. We had the best, better than all the rest, better than anyone. You know where this is going lol.
This is the kind of music I grew up with. I am now 69 and still loving this stuff. It gives me tears of joy to see your reaction to these types of songs from the 70s 80 and early 90s. You young people have missed out on so much beautiful powerful music
You said you didn't have the words, but you put it so perfectly. Imagine for a moment hearing this at the age of 7. Changed my life.
Oh my, Peter..US GIRLS WERE SO IN LOVE WITH THIS CUTIE. OH MAN. and one of the best . We had so many good ones. We would just drool over him. and he is one of the one's I didn't get to see. They were, all the rock bands , coming in like crazy. This album is his best. So many memories. ..
One of the best players EVER.
Peter sounds the same today, and even better. He is using a talk box for the speaking part. He is an amazing artist
one of my favorites of all time.😍
Classic song good 👍🏻🇮🇹👍🏻🌹
I love the middle break, it just gives me the feeling that this was done outdoors at night with beautiful summer weather just feeling the feeling with the crowd and letting this music get inside you.
Hearing Peter's talkbox for the first time is always an amazing experience for people!
You just had the Peter frapping experience. If you ever went to a live concert he would change you as far as what you listen to in music. My friends and I will go to Peter Frampton concert I just have a blast. They were lot of entertainment when they put on a show. Hope you enjoyed your experience😎👍🏻🎸🥁🎵🎶🎶🎧. Love your Channel and your bright smile.
To me, the most creative rock song ever made. Others are great, but this is #1 for shear creativity that is perfectly arranged and completely works.
Baby girl I wish you could have been there to experience it live. When he says "do you fill like I do" the crowd goes wild that because everybody was high as a kite. People smoking weed everywhere.. but in them days there was people going through the crowd passing out every drug known to man but mostly acid.. mushrooms... Sometimes peyote and Quaaludes..I'm pretty sure I had all the above in me that day..,😁🤘✌️
To truly understand what that sound is you must see a live performance. It’s called a talk box. It’s connected to his guitar & has a small tube that he puts into his mouth by the mic. When he picks a note it send vibrations of that note into his hollow open mouth. As he opens his mouth to the shape of the words he picks a note on the guitar. As his mouth changes so does the sound of the note so it’s sounds like he’s talking but he isn’t. The notes of the guitar are talking so to speak. Giving way to the name “talk box”. It takes a talented person to properly use the box. There are several bands that use this box. The eagles guitarist Joe Walsh for one comes to mind.
Look at Peter Frampton on the old show “midnight special”. It’s a great performance and you can see him use the talk box.
Girl I’m almost 72 and back in 76 just about everyone I knew had this album. Peter Frampton, master lyricist and guitar player. You’ve got to see him on the Midnight Special performing this song, he was spectacular.
PETER FRAMPTON, "DO YOU FEEL LIKE WE DO?" EMPERESS YOU JUST PERFORMED THE BEST REACTION I HAVE WITTNESSED LOL... YOU GOT TO LOVE THE SOUND OF SOLD OUT CROWD... JUST BEAUTIFUL ❤
This is a feel good song! Girl...did we have the best music in the late 60s and 70s or what!
Sure, we (you) did. Thanks Julie 😍
I'm 57 & yes the late 60s & the 70s were the best times for music!😊👍✌️
Here is a young man that played in a group call Humble Pie at 15 years old and is a great proforma ER.And EmpressJoy-Jean you can say anything you want about Pete , EmpressJoy-Jean may I say you are a beautiful woman
You have no idea just how big this song was when it came out. Every kid in his camaro or mustang was jamming this at the local cruise spot. Every rock station was playing the hell out of it. An iconic rock song of the 70s and we had it so good with the music of our time,, so spoiled and we didn't know it.
That is a song that makes you wonder if someone snuck something into your drink.
I bought this album when I was about 17 and still it's about like you were on something listening to it and I've never done any drugs but it truly blow your mind anyway LOL
OMG What a great song! Live performance so good that IT got all the airplay instead of the original album version
Nice to see you having an eargasm your expressions are off the charts.
Great Great reaction!!! Loved loved your genuine response. I was 16 years old when this came out. I'm 60 now. Lol...Never ever gets old and so happy to experience it with you. You are awesome as always. Keep the faith!!!
Great choice EJJ! I think nearly everyone in '76 had the "Frampton Comes Alive" album, one of the biggest of the 70's. It's a very bouncy song, and red and white is my new favorite color :-)
His timeless music came from an era where the music took you on a magical journey. A "Brilliantly Inspired Masterpiece" doesn't even come close to appropriately describing this closing song of his concert. After going on the journey from the previously played songs of this concert, yes I do believe from the response of the audience, everyone is indeed feeling like he and his band did! Just loved watching your reaction!
Fabulous reaction Empress / Frampton gives Empress a hot flush 😜😳😍 lol - the succession of wonderful expressions on your face said as much if not more than any words. Great track, great reaction.
In answer to your question the strange sound effect is caused by a voice box or talk box- I don’t claim to be able to explain it so here’s wiki to do it for me - en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_box
a trip to heaven and back to earth? Recorded live in Japan in 1978 and still great to hear or to experience........
"who's fine... what wine... where the hell did I die? Let's Do it Again!" This is a song about the "party!" spirit. Let's do it again!
I went to his first concert that’s how old I am 🇺🇸💙 Yeah, that’s my generation.
It's such a pleasure to watch you have such a passionate reaction to great music... 🥰💕🎶
The whole album is phenomenal music I had in high school was the best.
Amazing guitarist 👍
One of the great guitarists of a time of great guitarists! You are so beautiful!! Love that smile and how your eyes light up as you do it!
The talk around school was all about “THE GUY THAT MADE HIS GUITAR TALK”! We made FRAMPTON COMES ALIVE T-Shirts and posters in graphic arts class, everyone in school and pretty much everywhere else were listening to this!
For one very good reason, it's f-----g brilliant!!
It's awesome that music this great will live forever and not be forgotten. The entire album is legendary!!!!
Frampton's best stuff, which he took on the road. He uses a talk box, which mixes the vocal with the guitar feed.
Peter was my nearby neighbor - a mile or two from my house - for many years, here in Cincinnati's NE 'burbs. I remember occasionally seeing him on Montgomery Road in his tan Rolls. An all-around great person, He was very nice to my daughter, and was/is a friendly guy with awesome talent, and an "everyman" temperament, which endeared him to us in Cincinnati.
its a talk box honey, a tube connected to the mic, he talks and sings into, like a voice synthisizer, frampton was incredible live, good ol 70's rock, perfect party and chill this album was/is, checkout baby i love your way and show me the way from this album
Oh, to see him do this live is practically etherial....
That was from Frampton's tour of the USA in 1976. He took the country by storm that summer.
Your face when he starts with the voice box effect is priceless.
I went to yard sale and bought the original live album for only 5$ . That made my day.
There's not a song on this concert live album that was ordinary. There all fantastic. Pick any song from this album, you won't be disappointed...Neil from Sydney Australia..
I was 21-22 when this came out. Riding a motorcycle, trying to run a bar, going to college, and raising H.
How do you feel? Do you feel like I doooooooo?
The Allman Brothers Live at the Fillmore was also out about this time. Two incredible live albums to listen to.
Right there with you Empress!!
Who hasn't done the complete air guitar solo of this song living out a rock and roll fantasy.
Good choice, from one of my favorite albums of all time..........
Hahahah great reaction perfection!
Love watching people listen to this tune for the first time, never fails to floor everyone.
I wasn't alive when these classics came out, but even as a young lad this song has always been my favorite classic rock tune :)
To me, this is pop more than rock, with a touch of blues and jazz.
@@herrbonk3635 Your opinion only. It’s rock.
@@panda9144 I know what rock&roll was. (Bill Haley etc. playing simple swing, shuffle or boogie woogie.) But what constitutes "rock"? When I was young, this kind of music was always called pop music. I would rather call this funky blues (again with a jazz touch) than any of the rhythms or styles associated with rock&roll.
Same
Super cool and hottie to Empress Joy.......love ya!
He had several hits including Show me the way and Baby I love your ways
My all time favorite artist. Wish I had took someone else when I got to see him live... Frampton alive best album ever..!
The 2nd concert I had gone to. Frampton Comes Alive. Anaheim Stadium, Anaheim California.1976
AND THE CROWD . . . . . GOES . . . . . WILD ! ! ! ! ! Watch it live!
Your reaction matched mine in 1987 when I stumbled upon it. Glad you loved it. No need to say you did. I could see it on your face. 😁
Hello Empress Joy-Jean just loved your reaction to Peter Frampton
so emotional and stirring. May I suggest a 1970's classic at 17 min,
Iron Butterfly Inna-godda-da-vita
We had a lot of fun in the 70's. Peter Frampton always made us feel good.
Peter Frampton is a Jazz muso . Smooth and awesome player.
He’s using a Voice box while he’s playing guitar. That was his greatest album and he never could equal or pass that album Peter Frampton Comes Alive.
Welcome to the Frampton experience. There is a live video of this lying around RUclips somewhere. You will believe a guitar can talk:) To see a keyboard talk, check out Roger and Zapp.
I thought about it... then thought some more and yes, she has the greatest smile on the internets
Check out his, "Baby I Love Your Way", and "Show Me the Way"! Two of his many hits!
Loved your reaction - this is just one of those songs that exudes that wonderful feel good groove, which your expressions and enjoyment capture perfectly
Had this album when it came out. My friends would party to this constantly. One of the greatest live albums ever.
Wow!
I just love ur true realness to this Masterpiece, and to other songs
U really are awesome
There is a live video of this song and many more songs . This was recorded from a live concert at the Oakland Coliseum in the mid 1970’s. There were close too 100,000 people there.
From the biggest selling live album of all time - Frampton Comes Alive! And a double album at that! Show Me The Way is another hit from the album and hit #1 on the singles chart. The album spent many unconsecutive weeks at #1 on the album chart.
You started with the best Frampton song, imo.
Your reaction was amazing ...including your moves and dancing .....
Everyone had the Frampton Comes Alive album back in 1976. Such classic music.
yes send her reaction to Framton. he'd love like we all do!
This whole album is fantastic...
Greatest live album ever mainly because of this song 🎵
We had so much great music in the ‘70’s, so you can imagine how great this entire album was to just blow everything else away for months. Epic. And Peter seems like one heck of a good guy. The girls especially loved “Baby I Love Your Way”.
