The difference was last year he was just playing league all the time instead of focusing on nuzlockes. This video is super lazy and he should still be called out for that imo but it's probably because he's occupied with trying to finish Run and Bun which he's very close to doing on streams. So I think he's trying to put in effort, it's just that R&B is very intense and taking a lot of his mental energy as he tries to navigate the endgame, meaning he had to put out a lazy video this month for sponsor deadlines. I just don't think it's fair to say he's not changed or delivered on any of his promises when he's been dedicating a lot of time and effort if you look at the streaming side of things

Here's my potentially hot take on this vid: Jan is generally VERY conscious of what makes good vs bad content. He mentions it constantly on stream, and I'm pretty sure he just put out a podcast with Alpharad talking about that too. For a vid structured like this to come out, part of me thinks it almost has to be because the sponsor required it to be so. I imagine as a content creator, there's gotta be a threshold beyond which if a sponsor pays you well enough but requires you to structure your video in a specific way, the response will always be along the lines of "Alright sponsor this vid is probably gonna bomb, but whatever it's your money if you're paying my rent for the next X number of months"

Also Jan is currently in the Run and Bun trenches so he's probably way too occupied with that whole thing and just needed a quick cash injection for the sponsor deadline

I rewatched that video about a month ago and thats not really what he promised.
He said he would stream consistently (he's been decent there) he said he would put out 1 sponsored video a month to focus on streaming and he said that once a month video might not be the best, but that it exists so he can keep up doing runs on twitch and putting out pchal daily.

On a bit more constructive note, because I have really enjoyed the content for a long time, it’s the vids like the Chinese nuxlocker and even a tale of 3 encounters, that have recently been great. Chinese nuzlocker was genuinely one of the best vids I’ve seen on yt in a long time. There is so much scrutiny in the comments bc we’ve seen your peaks. I’ll still be here for next post, and I’m still excited, but that’s what we’re looking for, that’s how you differentiate yourself between other poketubers. People are here for your expertise, and it has been better with the improved storytelling. If they wanted intro to nuzlocke they be somewhere else. Keep your head up king, see you next month

You'll need two things. A starter Pokemon, and an entire team that's half it's level from the moment you catch the second Pokemon
Specialises in narrowly dodging ko in the gym it's weak to, and high pp moves since no one else here is getting one move off
Edit: I forgot one thing, the starter is usually determined by what I think is the cutest, the coolest or the one I think is good but turns out to be the worst one of the region
