4:22 you definitely took those pointers from alpharad to heart huh? First time I've giggled at one of your videos in a while, even though I love watching them that was a breath of fresh air.
The story and character/Pokémon designs in the game were so on point for me. So what in the nine levels of hell happened with the background, rendering and all those flipping glitches?! I'm glad you were able to find a way to try and Nuzlocke this game too because I honestly was at a loss as to how anyone could do it if you could just see all the Pokémon in any given area.
I love thé style of this video, it seems like PC is taking inspiration from other youtubers while also keeping his old style intact and I love it. I also think this nuzlock gets extremely hard once you include the team star/titan in the progression and level caps. The team star fights in particular are pretty tough. Also exp management becomes more important as the level caps get closer together. Overall loved both this game and the video!
I'm gonna try to hard-core nuzlocke Violet using only ice types. I love ice types, and am just super excited about the buff they got with snow over hail
The rivalry between Alpharad and Jan is actually based because they are learning from each other. Alpharad sometimes plays around the crit and Jan is a little better at video flow, humor and undertale ad music
I accidentally talked to the gym guy inside the resturant with the normal type gym before talking to anyone else, and somehow I got it right on my first try! I truly was very lucky. 😂
I gotta say I joined when you started reacting to nuzlockes and your voiceovers have improved. Comedy, poke knowledge, and ad breaks we solid. Excited for the game review!
I think if you want random encounters, it may be possible to do a Tera Raid Battle Nuzlocke. The only Pokémon that can be caught are from raids. You see what element their Tera-type will be, but the Pokémon inside is randomised, so it's a layer of strategy, "I need an Electric Tera 'mon to fight the Water Gym", with a layer of chance, as that Electric-type could be anything, and it forces you to adapt movesets based on the random Pokémon you get's Tera Type; the Tera Electric Pokémon you get could be a Grimer, for example, so you put Thunder Punch on its moveset. I think the "Teralocke" rules need a bit of refinement, but I honestly think there's something there for future Gen 9 playthroughs. I think that type of Nuzlocke would lean into SV's unique mechanic, and gets around the random encounter issue in the game's overworld.
I had plans on doing this after i was done with the 1man party clear with Skeledirge, though im not caping him, just having fun and blasting through the game as fast as possible for me.
I thought exactly the same about set / switch mode. Also, no turning battle animations off? Less bad because of auto battle stuff, but still. Battle animations are cool on your first casual playthrough. Then, it's a waste of time.
honestly kudos to you for resetting each time because the game has an incredibly slow start with cutscenes and no skip button and that is a real nightmare of this challenge if anything.
Idea for a Nuzlocke! Classic nuzlocke rules - such as naming pokemon and catching the first one per route, but all your pokemon start at level 100, fighting pokemon doesn't give experience and after each battle the global level of your pokemon goes down by 1.
"This is the first Pokémon game that has no villains?" Bro entirely missed that the PROFESSORS you know, ARVENS PARENTS are the villains. Not only that but they're deadbeat walkout parents too. The reason why we only have Turo in Violet is cause Sada left after Arven was born. In Scarlet, Turo left. It's dark man.
They aren't villains, I mean u could consider "villain" arven s dad in scarlet and arven e mom in violet, who left after he was born, but the professor weren't anywhere close to being villain. they simply believed in something that could never become real, and died before they could understand that, their ai counterpart, infact, understood that the reality they were dreaming could never become true, and that means that the professors would have reached that point as well...
@@You-hp3rl DISAGREE because even the AI is shocked when the paradise protocol protection agency is activated. "Is keeping the time machine running really all the professors cared about?!" it asks and then tells the children including arven to run. Meanwhile the professor sacrifices themselves for the box art legendary, probably not even thinking twice about their child and his dog who most likely got hurt in that event. They are so callous that they do not care about what would happen to Paldea if the paradox pokemon ran amok. That to me, is the definition of evil and a villain. I know it's hard to accept because they're the professor and someone of science and status, but that's that.
amazing video genuinely loving the voice over, the comedy I enjoy a lot, good random interaction farms your sponsor transition did make me laugh great job PC :D
As a marketing guy I appreciate and approve of how you integrate your sponsor ads into the video. I believe it's rather an "aggressive" way of advertising for eu viewers but it caters well on the US audience which is a big part of your channel for sure. Well done!
I love the way you integrated the mimkyu ability into the nord vpn ad, very clever and one of the few times I didn't just instantly skip past a sponsored ad in a video
without watching this more than a few minutes, putting every route pokemon on a wheel is actually such a brilliant way to keep the random aspect of encounters for an open world pokemon game.
You can really feel a bit of Alpharad's influence on the script writing and energy in the voice over, really cool to see you keep changing what your content is!
Quaxly Squad FTW!!!! At least that you chose it for the first run. Also, that idea with spinning a wheel to determine a Nuzlocke encounter is BRILLIANT! One of the only things that I dislike about ScarVio is the fact that they removed Set Mode, forcing everyone to play on Shift mode. Ever since my 3rd Nuzlocke, where I tried playing on Set for the first time, I've been playing on Set ever since, it's so enjoyable. Still have no idea why they'd remove the option to play on Set. Thankfully the battles go pretty fast, and the wild battles even faster, so grinding goes pretty quick. I wasn't Nuzlocking my first run or second (doing 2 at the same time, one co-op with my bro and one solo which I've already finished), but I did play it blind and I am planning to do 3 Nuzlockes, one with each starter, and then draw all the new Pokémon I catch, for my "ArtDex", as a replacement for the National Dex not being in the game since gen 6 anymore. The battle I struggled the most with, and perhaps the ONLY battle I struggled with, was against Eri, the Fighting Star Boss, purely because her Starmobile has Stamina and kept using Shift Gear and just sweeping my team, forcing me to use revives in order to not lose the battles, otherwise I had never used any items in battles before nor after. I did end up beating her on my first try because of luck, her missing an attack and me landing one to take out the sliver of HP the Starmobile had left. Still it was an enjoyable game with a really good story, plus I caught so many shinies, I ended up finding 4 shinies in a single day, the day after I found my first shiny, and so I ended up having 2 shinies on my team throughout my solo file: a Mabosstiff and a Scovillain.
I had a feeling that Fuecoco was a little overpowered, and I"m glad to have that confirmed. I love my croc, but I remember sweeping the champion and having a thought of "this shouldn't go as smoothly as it is"
most genius way of using a sponser i have EVER seen in my friggin life. First time i watched the sponsor without even thinking of skipping it because i didnt wanna miss any content. Congratz sir. Hauste
I gotta say, I love how you worked around the encounters in this game. I've been wanting to do a Nuzlocke on these games but was waiting to see what the general consensus was for how to do encounters. But now that I've seen your idea of rolling a random wheel of all possible encounters in the area, I think I'm going to use that 😃
The whole video, I was praying we'd get Jan's reaction to Grusha. I was a little worried it wouldn't happen but was so happy when his reaction was just like mine
As a kid when imagining Pokemon, I had an idea for the final gym being someone who utilized crystal pokeballs. They're unique balls that allow the user to call forth any pokemon, and it would be a crystalized version of that pokemon. It allows the gym to counter any pokemon you had. Would make for a cool challenge and the gym would be unique for every playthrough.

4:22 you definitely took those pointers from alpharad to heart huh? First time I've giggled at one of your videos in a while, even though I love watching them that was a breath of fresh air.
Alpharad learned how to be a better Nuzlocker and Jan learned how improve his scripts and timing on his videos, honestly kudos to both
PC's charisma is getting better he isnt so monotone during narration anymore GG mate
The decision to remove set mode is so bafflingly stupid to me. It's been in every mainline game since Red/Blue/Green, they *Chose* to remove it.
I got an idea for a challenge where you have to let your pokemon decide what moves to learn by using the "get advise" button
Fun fact, Larry is a flying trainer in the elite 4 as a subtle reference to the fact that he wants to jump off of a fucking skyscraper
He really made me watch the ad to learn about a Pokémon strat well played sir well played
Overall loved both this game and the video!
ew
I'm gonna try to hard-core nuzlocke Violet using only ice types. I love ice types, and am just super excited about the buff they got with snow over hail
Goodluck! Also can you even get ice types prior to reaching the mountain?
This video was so good I gotta watch it again! Great writing, really fun to watch, and a killer ad read, keep it up Jan!
10:30 is the most hilarious moment for me i was laughing hard when he just said that XD
"Er machts nochmal spannend am Ende!" Lovely. Just lovely to finally see German in a Video of yours.
The rivalry between Alpharad and Jan is actually based because they are learning from each other. Alpharad sometimes plays around the crit and Jan is a little better at video flow, humor and undertale ad music
Bruh why are you coming for Ed Sheeran like that, Celestial absolutely slaps 🌠
I accidentally talked to the gym guy inside the resturant with the normal type gym before talking to anyone else, and somehow I got it right on my first try! I truly was very lucky. 😂
Literal same lol
the written comedy is getting better and better, love to see it!
Lol your reaction to Grusha was my exact reaction to Rika
From “I can’t do outros! wah!” To the literal best one on RUclips thus far lmao
The polymerization joke had me cackling like a maniac
I gotta say I joined when you started reacting to nuzlockes and your voiceovers have improved. Comedy, poke knowledge, and ad breaks we solid. Excited for the game review!
Wait til you see meowscarada signature move
Animations are likely to avoid desyncs and shit in multiplayer.
If that's the reason, then allow it offline. I will play offline most of the time and I'm sure a lot of others as well.
honestly kudos to you for resetting each time because the game has an incredibly slow start with cutscenes and no skip button and that is a real nightmare of this challenge if anything.
Alpha has really inspired you to take you scripts to the next level. Best video yet
Idea for a Nuzlocke! Classic nuzlocke rules - such as naming pokemon and catching the first one per route, but all your pokemon start at level 100, fighting pokemon doesn't give experience and after each battle the global level of your pokemon goes down by 1.
"This is the first Pokémon game that has no villains?"
Bro entirely missed that the PROFESSORS you know, ARVENS PARENTS are the villains.
Being a shitty parent doesn’t make you the villain. It makes you a shitty person.
@@You-hp3rl In any case, each professor is an antagonist
The opposite parent of the game is actually unnamed
amazing video
genuinely
loving the voice over, the comedy I enjoy a lot, good random interaction farms
your sponsor transition did make me laugh
great job PC :D
Actual impossible: Getting through this whole game without a bug
When glitchless% is a challenge run, not a speedrun category.
yeah it's really easy to run into nymble when you're not looking :)
1:14 they also removed the option to turn off battle animations.
Thought the hardest challenge was going to be any% glitchless
As a marketing guy I appreciate and approve of how you integrate your sponsor ads into the video. I believe it's rather an "aggressive" way of advertising for eu viewers but it caters well on the US audience which is a big part of your channel for sure. Well done!
12:38 what is this song called ?
It's the battle theme for Pokémon Colosseum
The starter evolutions:
Gay Duck
Cat stood up
Peppergator
I love the way you integrated the mimkyu ability into the nord vpn ad, very clever and one of the few times I didn't just instantly skip past a sponsored ad in a video
Poke Chal really needs to quit saying “probably” at the beginning of his videos. He’s more than earned the title of the GOAT of nuzlockes
"Er macht's nochmal spannend am Ende!" I burst out laughing lmao hell yeah dude
Jan really is learning from alpharad.
This was unironically the most entertaining video I‘ve seen on this channel yet :)
without watching this more than a few minutes, putting every route pokemon on a wheel is actually such a brilliant way to keep the random aspect of encounters for an open world pokemon game.
You can really feel a bit of Alpharad's influence on the script writing and energy in the voice over, really cool to see you keep changing what your content is!
I love the fact that you put that Made in Abyss shot on 14:00. Please stop giving me reasons to love you 🥺
Ngl that Yu-gi-oh joke at the end was kinda funny 😂 especially since it’s so true.
I love the undertone of hollow knight. You played hornet music in the back and you made a mantis lords reference at the beginning too
Wait until Jacob finds out Jan is a league degen, he’ll never live it down
12:17 his english is so good that it almost gives him an accent in his native language. 😅😅😉 Loved the video!
I love it that he randomly started talking german at 12:17. Ich weiß nicht wieso, aber es hat mich glücklich gemacht
I love my croc, but I remember sweeping the champion and having a thought of "this shouldn't go as smoothly as it is"
this video was genuinely so fun, well done king jam
That Pokemon Colosseum music when you go over Nemona fight at the end ❤️. I would love to see you do a run on that game (and Pokemon XD aswell)
Oh those games are notoriously brutal to Nuzlocke. They're considered the hardest Pokémon games for a reason.
most genius way of using a sponser i have EVER seen in my friggin life.
But now that I've seen your idea of rolling a random wheel of all possible encounters in the area, I think I'm going to use that 😃
Jan been taking notes from Alpharad, narration is much better than ever before
The whole video, I was praying we'd get Jan's reaction to Grusha. I was a little worried it wouldn't happen but was so happy when his reaction was just like mine
i genuinely love the new pokemon lines like theyre just lil guys theyre so good
Jan hyping up the gym design gets me pumped, love to see
Finally!!! A good sponsor segment!!!
Waited until I beat Scarlet to watch this, and you're still entertaining as ever. Ad reads are just so full of life.
This was definitely one of your best videos yet, loved it from start to finish
that monster of a mismagius killed my entire team on my first nuzlocke attempt
That 20 hour stream to finish the game honestly gave me life. Also helped get the Heracross a spot on the roster
Don’t forget the absolute beast that is Meowscarada. It’s flower trick attack that not only is garunteed stab because meowscarads speed is actually disgusting, and it’s boosted by 50% due to its typing, it also is a garunteed CRIT.
