She saved him, just as he saved her. He was badly damaged and Lisbon gave him the reason to live. She gave up on love and a personal life because of her own traumas, but he gave her the reason to love.
Lisbon was just so sad about Jane's view of himself and the world. Just reminding you that this is a very broken, sad person. She had to keep reminding him his life was worth living, and that people would miss him if he were gone. I don't think it was until after this episode he started believing in that.

Die liebe endet nie. Das ist doch wirklich das einzigste was sich verdoppelt wenn man es teilt!!!! Wenn jemanden mehr liebt, als sein eigenes leben : ist das unsterblich!!!
If you’ve the right Choke on the barrel... 100’ is still doable. Most likely a Police issued shotgun would have this attachment to prevent collateral damage. However, how did Jane get one? If not a Police issued, where? The officer was seen - in the scene - carrying the evidence gun away for processing moments before.
When the girl was reunited with her family, Jane looked so sad and i cant help feeling that he was thinking of his own daughter that he would never see again. I know he joined CBI for one purpose but he must find it so diffucult to deal with dead/missing people on a daily basis 😢
I miss the Mentalist and the days of not knowing who Red John was. Not that the reveal was disappointing but because “thrill is in the chase, never the capture”.
I'm thinking his last words weren't "tiger tiger" because they came up with the "tiger tiger" and tattoo concept later on. They don't usually write more than one season ahead, you never know if a show is going to be axed, especially after season 1.
Jane feels very hopeless here. He thought there was no way he could ever come out of the darkness he was feeling: “Some things you just can’t fix. Maybe angry is the way of the world.” But Lisbon pulls him towards life and lightness. She holds him up and guides him away from his despair. Lisbon is religious and already experienced -- and emerged -- from loss (her father committed suicide). Her outlook on life is clear -- keep moving forward in spite of the setbacks and the pain. In Season 2, he tries to return the favor when he sees she is still sad about losing Bosco. He goes a step further by promising her he will always save her, reaffirming what he said in Season 1's trust fall. To me, the beauty of this ending is that it shows Lisbon's strength of character that Jane will eventually depend on to help him heal. I think he appreciated later what she said to him in this episode. As we see in the rest of the series, they pull each other up when the other is down. Jane becomes very protective of Lisbon. And Lisbon becomes more supportive of Jane, because she starts to see the goodness in him, hidden beneath all the arrogance. There is a spark between them for sure in Season 1, but I don't think either of them are in love yet here. The way he throws away the shotgun, surprised at himself, indicates that his reaction was subconscious. We can infer that whatever he felt subconsciously for Lisbon made him grab the shotgun. I don't think he knew why he did it. The script doesn't spell it out either; it's left ambiguous. But keep in mind that Maya was also in the range of the shotgun, and Hardy was in love with Maya. He very well could have killed her as his twisted way of not letting anyone else have her if he couldn't. If he killed Lisbon, Maya might have been next. There were two people at risk of dying here.
I noticed that Jane not only listened to Lisbon, she loved her since the first season, in fact, from the first episode I noticed that they liked each other, at least more from Jane towards her. the orange that tastes at the end that subtlety that tastes life again, and that is more important than revenge. 🍊 psdta: what is the name of the song at the end?

The song at the end is so beautiful! Its an ave maria version...
Oh yes, one of the best series ever made
They found the perfect actor to play Hardy/Tanner, he was good on Castle too as 3XK
Oh wow.
Die liebe endet nie. Das ist doch wirklich das einzigste was sich verdoppelt wenn man es teilt!!!! Wenn jemanden mehr liebt, als sein eigenes leben : ist das unsterblich!!!
jane lisbon care protect love each other priceless.
that was one helluva shot for a shotgun
Rocket Raptor shotguns may spread, but not in close range.
In real life.. shotguns have okay range.
@@jayluck8047 After the initial gunshot, Jane obviously went for the shotgun, which must've been exposed, awaiting processing.
Jane stole an orange! :O Hahaa, kidding, love this show and clip
Most saddest finales I've ever watched D';
Well, nearly.
Someone make a compilation of all the foods Jane took.
priceless simon baker.
This was a good ending! So much said between the lines.
Castle
jane ssooooooooooooooooooooooooo chose lisbon over red john!
go jisbon!
I LOVE PATRICK!
Yeah. I realized this the second I navigated away from this page. Thanks anyway :) :) Imma go play it now!! XD
When the girl was reunited with her family, Jane looked so sad and i cant help feeling that he was thinking of his own daughter that he would never see again. I know he joined CBI for one purpose but he must find it so diffucult to deal with dead/missing people on a daily basis 😢
if you mean the piano music at the end: this is not chopin, this is Bach
WELL TEMPERED CLAVIER
I miss the Mentalist and the days of not knowing who Red John was.
Not that the reveal was disappointing but because “thrill is in the chase, never the capture”.
Jane got a gun inspiration
Scotty Long NOOO! You didn't!!!😂
Who the hell locks a police officer with his own cuffs and doesn't take away the key? Love how Patrick saved Teresa's life.
would be the ultimate pain. i would not be surprised if at least he knew her/was a friend.
Ah the good old times.
If that tree was anywhere near me there would be no fruit lol that looked delicious, iv never seen an orange tree only apples.
My computer lagged just at the point where he pointed the gun at Lisbon. OMFG.
the guy who played Sheriff Hardy - Michael Mosley - really TALENTED .. he is really underrated
jane clever priceless gifted unique.
He could have said "Tiger Tiger", it would have moved faster.
Jane has got a thing for shotguns.
Great music there at the end. What is it called?
It’s a prelude by Bach
Nagyon szeretem ezt a filmet sorozatot❤❤❤
én is nagyon
They should use the piano song again in season 4. I love that song.
I noticed that Jane not only listened to Lisbon, she loved her since the first season, in fact, from the first episode I noticed that they liked each other, at least more from Jane towards her. the orange that tastes at the end that subtlety that tastes life again, and that is more important than revenge. 🍊
psdta: what is the name of the song at the end?
Castle
otra vez ? gracias
it's weird how Lisbon never thanked him, they could have had a great moment there :'(
People need things spelled out these days. I love this show implied so much without actually saying it.
@Redagent6096 He says "You can be angry, it's just the way of the world."
@SaunjGirl I always thought they grew from flowers... I knoe that sounds pathetic but it's trueee!
Nice shot.... but did he have 3 dots tattooed on his shoulder?....
the shotgun was empty you see the guy carry the bag of shells, did he load it or its it one of those tv things we are not ment to notice, PS i love the mentalist
The mission comes first, stopping Red John was that mission. The mission is priority first and foremost.
1:24 music pls
number one well tempered clavier
did anyone else see him open the car door for lisbon
