having his wedding anniversary alone is the saddest fucking thing he could do to himself short of pretending to play with his kid
as somebody who lost their kid, I can tell you imagining spending time with them in any capacity is the hardest thing a human can do.
What episode was that scene? I don't think I've seen it before
@@mohammedgheewala3365 BRO SAME, like I watched the Mentalist full series like 3 or 4 times and never saw that one, or atleast I dont remember it..
@@qUranium_Season 4 episode 23 and scene started @ 10:28.
@@Asif-w8o OMG, yeah u right, I forgot about this comment, I was searching for this and Find it.. really sad episode, yeah. But still thanks so much!
This is one of those shows that sticks with you even after years of watching it. I remember first laying my eyes into an episode of the mentalist when I was 13. Now at 23, it still has a mark on me.
I an currently 24 and a few days ago finished watching "The Mentalist". Never watched it before but heard a lot, including videos or some shortcuts from TikTok and RUclips. I am so excited and happy that i saw it. Absolutely in love with the series and even made a note that included best moments from the serial in my opinion. 🤩
where can i watch it?? is it free?
same like me but im 24 now

It breaks my heart seeing how Jane try to hide his emotions
My poor little boy

Simon Baker is such a great and so much underrated actor. The scene when Kristina Frye telling him she had a message from her dead wife was the most emotional scene of the show.
it is such a cruel thing to do on her part. He knows she's lying, she knows she's a fraud. And she knows saying this will break his heart precisely because he knows it's a lie and he could never find out the truth. She just inflicts pain for absolutely no reason.
"Something's you just can't fix" scene followed by the
"Parents are supposed to protect their kids"
Yep, that broke me, maybe because I relate to it a little.
Wanna talk about it?
@@smurfyday maybe with a trusted someone.
But thanks anyway😊
@@keysburntgucci9016 u can trust strangers. Secrets stay safe. They genuinely offer it, or dont. And since you both stay anonymous, it doesnt matter much as well. Its easier
Watching Jane cry privately and Grace closes the door touches my heart.
This is the show that practically made me unable to enjoy many other shows because compared to the mentalist, they all lack way too much deepness. It's absolutely brilliant. Love it to this day.
Thank you✨ most series now are just😤😠😖😣 wish for reboot Everytime I watched it again🥺
Thank you✨ most series now are just😤😠😖😣 wish for reboot Everytime I watched it again🥺
I completely agree. Your assessment of this amazing show is spot-on. I really miss it.
Such a complex character and story arch. Red John was absolutely necessary to the reclamation of Patrick Jane or he would have continued as the post Red Fugue piker who no one could ever trust least of all Lisbon
Still, I would not choose to put him through all that happened, even if it made him "better". Fuguewas a completely unbounded Jane, he did have his wife and child to ground him (away from affairs and certain levels of depravity). But I would not wish this on him
True, and The Mentalist is mostly one of the best shows ever, but red John saga coulda ended eg after he shot the guy here instead of the mess that followed.
Simon baker killed it but Kudos to the writers because writing this long and engaging show with multiple storylines in each episode is not easy!
Patrick when getting yelled at by others: Okay
Patrick when getting yelled at by Lisbon in season 6: You know, I-I'm sorry for deceiving you... *Sob*
The latter half of season 6 was some of the best writing Ive ever seen (the first half sucked and yo know why)
Most complex character ever to play and to show such a range of emotions ...take bow to Simon Baker you will be lived in the hearts of people as Patrick Jane forever......
1:02 One of my favorite moments from the entire show, because only Teresa looked at Jane, realizing he is in pain, but more importantly, she has feelings for him. I don't know when she started to feel this way, but I'd like to believe it sparked from the moment they met. And in the end, they ended up together.
@@LemonGreen-i7m There were three drinks in total. The other two represent his wife and daughter. They had a tradition that he kept up without them.
@@LemonGreen-i7m Havent you notice three plates? It was probably the place where he often took his family out,and now hes looking at empty chairs because theyre gone....
I don't remember Patrick shooting Lisbon. Was that a dream?
@@paulsheffield888 no it was some ploy, I dont recall the details, but he faked her death to protect her.
@@paulsheffield888 Late reply but from what I remember he had to pretend to kill Lisbon and the others in order to trick Red John and lure him out.
You know if I ever got someone accidentally killed, that'd be enough for an average person like me to struggle with that guilt for the rest of my life.
Here you have a not-so-necessarily a good person who believed himself to be the reason why his wife and child got murdered in one of the most brutal way possible (bodies mutilated as was RJ's style was).
I can't imagine what Jane went through when he first laid eyes on his dead family.
I know new fans will catch up to this show, probably through seeing random Jisbon moments and that's great.
But I just like to say that
THIS IS IMPORTANT
Patrick Jane's journey of grief and his struggle with guilt and self-hatred is the most Quintessential aspect of the show for me.
The guilt and struggle launched the show, but it was the recovery via Jisbon that catapulted above the average crime-of-the-week criminal consultant procedural. Even the Greeks knew that tragedies hit the hardest, but a credible feel-good story on its own, or on top of the tragedy, is even harder to do.
Agreed!
I love your statement following THIS IS IMPORTANT.... excellent way of describing the series.
The recovery was mostly thanks to him killing red john. Teresa played a good role in it, but he didn't thought of her as a romantic partner until after he killed red john he didn't thing of anything else for those 10 years. And i don't believe he ever healed. You can't heal from something like that. He just learned to live with the guilt and pain
I was just telling my wife the thing that drew me to the show was his pain. Those were the most interesting aspects of this show to me.
This show was the best thing ever. How the writing was so consistently great for 7 seasons straight and managed to stick the landing with the most satisfying ending ever I have no idea.
Simon Baker played Patrick Jane so amazingly
Love him ❤
I'm so glad he ended up happy at the end
He truly did. I’ve watched the whole series several times and I still forget that it isn’t real when I’m watching it at times. He couldn’t have done a better job.
“Parents are supposed to protect their kids.”
Joel did that right until the end Ellie dont you worry.
The one that gets me the most is when he sees Red Johns smiley face and gets his memories back...
This one hurts differently, for one moment he didn't have to deal with the pain and the guilt... It hurts bc we know that he needs his memories back but we also know what it'll do to him
0:29, 3:28, 9:16 and 11:24
What Red John took from Jane is indescribable
Those expressions shatter me 😭
Yes it is. And " revenge " ain't gonna change a darn thing.
@@tatianalyulkin410I hope you never have to realize that it's not that simple.
@@JohnTechHead This is like Jane's conversation with Tommy. I've aquired my very own " Red John " in 2014 after the Ukrainian coup and last year I got my own " Happy Anniversary " when of all the available dates that creature had chosen to kill my brother on October 26- and Mom was murdered on October 29, 2014! So I DO know what I'm talking about. Sorry to bash your script. Wish you were right of course.
@@tatianalyulkin410 I see, sorry for your loss, that's fucked up man, and I'm sorry if my comment offended you in any way.
1:02 little moments like those is what made the Mentalist stand out. The smile made way for sadness in Jane and Lisbon is the only who noticed it. No words were needed.
Something about seeing a grown man crying alone pulls at my heart strings
I still tear up watching this stuff man. Say what you want about The Mentalist, but god damn...Simon Baker was phenomenal in the role and then the genuine chemistry with him and Robin Tunney was just fantastic. They always NAILED the really emotional moments. Every single time.
This is beautiful. The Mentalist is so many things- but you did an amazing job of showing those quiet, more sad moments that stick out in appeal along with the main storyline. The music choice was simply spectacular. Thank you.
Simon baker as Patrick jane is just
Lightning in a bottle
Its not damn near perfect, its just perfect!!!
We will remember him fondly.
Watching Mentalist since 7 years.. I still watch it.. Losing someone is hard, but knowing your are the reason is the worst feeling ever.
1:37 this is was such a sad scene for me to watch it made my eyes teary
The 3 of everything as i call it was just.. MAKING MY SOB UNCONTROLLABLY 😭 😭 😭
One of my fav shows of all time. the cast made it even better! I felt close to it bc I can relate to it at parts and feel everything at every part.
For me the scene that stays with me is when Jane goes to a shoemaker to get his old shoes repaired, we know he's basically was a millionaire, yet he get the shoes repaired and doesn't buy a new one. those shoes are lot more to him than just money,
Yeah! U right.. It was good episode, like every othe..
What a good actor he is
For a man who saw his daughter being cut open ... hearing the sentence:"PARENTS ARE SUPOSSED TO PROTECT THEIR KIDS" is cutting like a knife through the heart
He didn't see his daughter being cut open, what you talking about ??? 😅
@@ptertaintv He opened the door and saw his daughter and wife cut opened. And second of all, I see nothing funny about that.

Your comment was what the laughing emoji was directed at ,
not the death of the fictional characters in the TV series,
The Mentalist.
Because the implication of your comment, is that Jane was there whilst his daughter were being murdered.
He wasn't , he found them dead as you second comment shows. 🙂
@@ptertaintv Get off my comment and stop writting dumb things
What lies behind the comedies are tragedies. Treasure people who have a sense of humor and always bring joy around them.
Jane can see inside of people's mind
Lisbon can see inside of Jane's heart
Simon Baker as Patrick Jane is the best main character, ever.
the mentalist is such a fucking good tv show and simon bakers acting is on point.these clips just prove that the show was amazing
Oh, so GOOD! I’m sure you can tell by now I love the dramatic ones. 😉 As always, thank you so much for making and sharing this! 🤍
Damn this show. It's so true to life.
There's so many more scenes as well. My personal favorite is the coroner's last moments.
That scene was so emotional, goes to show how great the show was
This show was so good.
A big serie. Jane and Lisbon are a great duo. Simon Baker has a difficult role and he arrived to take us with him.
He was broken but he was also happy ; it's difficult to explain what I feel. But, great serie
6:36 she had no choice we needed jane
It was more than that. JANE needed to remember. There was evidence of his memories slowly returning. But they felt so horrible, he was going to run from them for as long as he could--not just as the con man he used to be, but the con man he could have been without even Angela balancing him out.
He was going to steal, to hurt and use people for solely selfish purpose, make new enemies, wrack up a criminal record, sleep around--and at an unknown point, all those memories were going to hit him, with all of this new guilt to contend with and NO support.
It was far, far better to remember while still in the arms of Lisbon and the team, and with less sins stacked on his soul

Ok, i will watch it for 7th time
Lisbon showing Jane that room was both cruel and the right thing to do
Excellent compilation
11:11 and here come the tear from my eyes
8:42 even though I'm quite certain that what the psychic said was open for interpretation because the crime happened at night(not sure because I'm still in S1EP8), if you are PJ, you would cry too.
Jane‘s backstory makes me wonder if my father is still alive or if he knows I am well.
My mother smells like lavender as well, funny how the brain retains some things and forgets others - I have a room spray, just for my bedroom, so that I can sleep well at night.
Gracias por volver a dar las series ya las vi pero no me canso de verla repetidas Un abrazo 😘❤️ Que actor tienes algo especial Gracias!!!
One of the best edits for the Mentalist I have seen... not sure why fake shooting Lisbon was added at the end but everything else is outstanding😅
actually now that I think about it I really can't even remember what I was thinking when making this since it doesn't seem as fitting as the rest of them 👀
@charlatanjane HAHA🤣 No worries, it was probably a big brain edit that we now don't understand😆... Quick fun question, do you annually watch the Mentalist or contiually watch it? I find myself not being able to stop watching sometimes.
@@mauricio.mc21 haha could be that! 😂
For the past two years I have watched it most days. Have like three different rewatches currently. Two started from pilot but am midseries with the discord people and mid red john arc with myself and then went backwards with wife and started third rewatch from S7 and went to S6 and so on. Also used to edit tm on my phone and pc almost everyday even when weren't watching chronologically but nowadays I only do so like once or twice a week cause have issues with motivation lol
but oh how much I wish I could watch tm for the very first time again, like have partial amnesia or then go back in time and watch it as it airs.
Thank you for your dedication and wonderful edits@@charlatanjane
Well, he says I Love You, then shoots her. He knows the next part of the plan will be difficult, but there wasn't much choice. This scene is harder to understand out of context.
How I would love to watch this series.

Might not be the real Red John, but I'm convinced he was the murderer.
I think it was proven he was? This very person?
or some other kind of criminal
Only one person could have played this character better and that is nobody...
4:35 Holy shit, that is exactly what Ellie from The Last of Us would have said too.
Best TV show ever

I woulda been satisfied if the show ended with Season 3, but since we got more, I'm glad they gave Jane a happy ending.

what is the background music? id love to know so that if im ever dying at a faster pace than the slow progression of this life, then I could simply turn it on...

Is there a way you could make an alternate version with the original soundtrack in it?
hey! Hey! Ashley Johnson

What was the last scene about?
💯
I never finished the show. Why did he shoot at her at the end
I don't remember Patrick shooting Lisbon. Was this added later? I have no memory of it
It was the finale of season 4. Technically he didn't shoot her though, it was just a ruse.
@charlatanjane
Ohhhh! Thankyou for taking time to explain that for me. Have a Happy Thanksgiving
SB did such an amazing job playing this character. He was so incredibly multilayered, and ppl payed a price if they bought his buffoon act bc he probably had about a 160 IQ. His facial expressions alone made Patrick Jane memorable but he added so v much more, and it’s simply impossible to forget the character, no matter how many yrs go by between my watching and rewatching and rewatching etc etc etc the srs forevermore. 🥲😳🥰
FELICITACIONES !
